Monarch Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Does anyone else suddenly suck using Tsubaki while playing a mirror? Just me?
Kiba Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 It's the same with me haha. Just remember to use barrier when you're under pressure. Make it harder for the opponent to keep you down since, y'know, many of Tsubaki's normals will whiff.
Monarch Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Something I'm now experiencing but.. out of all of my mirrors, my opponent has insisted on backing off and charging while using orbs to keep me off them. Surely I can punish them for such, right? Or should I just take the opportunity and charge myself?
Airk Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 You can do either one. Technically you'll get more charge than they do if they're taking the time to throw blobs. At least, until they clue in and stop doing it. Or you can just airdash over them if it's the ground version. Air version is harder to get around, but they have to jump to do it, so...yeah. Stuff.
chzchan Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Every time it happens I always glance at the wrong meter at least a handful of times during each round. Clashing fireballs and harmonic charging also happens pretty often which is always funny and distracting to me.
TeeJay Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 My one concern in this matchup is what to do when the other Tsubaki player backs off and starts charging. Do I charge too (and we both awkwardly have 3-5 stocks), or do I go in and put pressure on them. I tend to do more of the latter.
Airk Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 In Extend, charging in this matchup was practically a free 236C CH, but since that's slower now, it's a bit safer. That said, I think the answer depends on a lot of factors, but I'd say that, maybe counterintuitively, if you have a life lead and they start charging, you should go in, because you don't want them to have a bunch of charges to blow you up with if they get a hit, but if you're behind, go ahead and charge because now you'll have capacity for real damage. Of course, the most important thing it depends on is how many charges YOU have. Since there are semi-diminishing returns on having more than MAYBE 3 charges most of the time, you probably want to chase them if they are charging and you already have a couple of charges.
