>Sho and yu bond at the end

Oh God why no no no no no no no no [vomits}

To be fair, this was a given and should have been seen coming a mile away. He was all but guaranteed to redeem himself. I do not like it either but what's done is done.

Also here's this for a laugh: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/08/27/teddie-warns-fans-spoil-persona-4-arena-ultimaxs-story-else/

Sorry ATLUS, the collective Internet beat you to the punch.

The identity of the final boss seems so obvious in hindsight. It's the one major character from

the izanagi/izanami myth

who was missing previously. Also, it's not like this is the first time Atlus has had this character in charge of destroying the world.

This time he doesn't need a Reason.

Having finished the P4 story side, the one thing I do have on my mind is now is that the guy reading the titles and narrating the arcade openings was Hi-no-Kagutsuchi this whole time... I'm sorry, but I can't take you flaming monster seriously knowing this...

He was also cosplaying as General Teddie (at least here he was). Let that sink in for a moment: a flaming colossus embodying mankind's collective destructive impulses towards others, pretended to be a stuffed bear with a cigar. Any credibility it might have had is lost once you figure this out.

The thing is, even if the code is in fact real (because datamining is a thing that happens all the time) it's difficult to know exactly that Sho is in fact P5HERO. It might even be him but it might be impossible to prove it's him unless you find something in the code that shows that it's him (although I suppose a comment saying P5HERO = Sho would be too easy, lol). I do think that regular Sho and Minazuki are respectively NEWBOSS and NEWBOSS_O based on their position in the code. There's a possibility P5HERO could still be an instance of Sho but I really can't speculate much more without knowing exactly how Ultimax's story goes down. But it could also be that the P5 protagonist was considered to be a DLC character or hidden character that they scrapped during development.

I still think Sho has a good chance of being the P5 Protagonist but this could just be a repeat of the Malevolent Entity deal where we let what we think is going to happen manipulate what it actually is. Guess we'll have to wait till TGS to find out.

This. Their "codenames" for sprites and story/arcade portraits are NB (short for New Boss, maybe?) for Minazuki and NO for Sho. The file name for Sho's theme also has an O at the end, though I don't know if it stands for the same "O" from "Newboss_O" and "NO". And if you look a few lines above P5HERO, you'll also see NO and NB there.

Buuuuut, I know nothing about codes, so I guess it's safest not to assume anything and wait until TGS!

I can't wait for PerSHOna 5

Jokes aside, wasn't the protagonist of each Persona game unable to have a unique personality, because we, the player, decided what he is saying/doing

However, it would be a nice change if Sho becomes P5 MC and we can only choose from certain dialogue options that fits his personality.

SO

Data miners have found that Sho is titled as P5HERO

I wonder if it's the data for this fight, if it's true:

Look at the name, it's for regular Sho, even though he has Tsukiyomi.

If we're talking about how it would work out in P5, the current format for Persona games still works fine even if Sho ended up the MC. Let's be honest, they don't really care much anymore for the MC's personality to be 'built by the player' since the games pretty much force you to either be nice and make bonds or slow down your gameplay progress by 90%.

With that in mind, Sho is still unexperienced when it comes to 'people' in general, and he has a terribly solid backstory to go along with him thanks to his past and P4U2's story, so I think he could work just fine as Pershona 5's MC.

So what happened to Shadow Labrys in this story? Did she even do anything?

In P3 story, Sho used a remote to control Labrys, remove her councies, but instead Shadow Labrys got out and took control over the body instead (when she fused with Labrys, Shadow Labrys survived as her own ego inside the second data memory bank in Labrys, and has her own persona). S.Labrys defeated Sho and later gave back Labrys control over the body since she didn't want to deal with the whole "playing house" part.

Re: main character personalities

They can take and give whenever they so choose, honestly the idea of a "silent protagonist" is outdated and never really held water for justification. But in the past, looking at both of the P2 games, the protagonist for each game (Tatsuya and Maya) appears in the others with their own personality and motives while being regulated to the "silent protagonist" role in their own game. And realistically, your "actions" are superficial at best, the protagonist always has a "personality" you can't actually deviate from.

That being said . . .

I have 0 interest in having P5 be a continuation of this mess, I'm sure plenty of people enjoy the extended canon, but I thought P4 was fine on its own and everything that has been added since has just ruined that simplicity and made the plot clunkier and needlessly convoluted. I'd like P5 to be P5, not P4.5, I am ready for a new experience in a new era.

So is she still in there and can she come out whenever she pleases? If so I'd say that's pretty awesome.

After replaying the part again, it goes something like this:

Sho uses a remote like that Ikutsuki used on Aegis in P3, and as Librays will fades to black she meets with Shadow Labrys. S.Labrys says she has been waiting for Labrys will to get weaker so that she could take over the body. And in the real world S.Labrys takes control over the body and summons her persona and calls Sho a shitty brat and that she would never follow his orders.

After a fight the remote is destroyed, and Yu and gang tells S.Labrys that's it enough and she should stop fighting. S.Labrys says this is stupid and goes back into the subconcience(or whatever it is) and tells Labrys that she's more fit for "playing house" and gives back the control to Labrys.

Labrys starts to say that Sho fells lonely and the like which makes Sho go a little berserk which ends with Sho & Kagutsuchi (sho talks but it's the both voices) tells everyone to shut up and MINAZUKI takes over the control and uses Kagutsuchi power to stop everyone to move. After some talking, MINAZUKI goes away to the top of the tower since they have already collected enough Persona Shards (might be a different name in english).
