Malcopunch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that P4D is actually the last chapter in the P4 story. So yeah, canon. Okay i was incorrect. I thought P4/P4A and P4U were the canon ones..still i hope P4U is not the last one. I think after P4U they should make a fighting game that connects Persona 5 to 3/4..
RifleAvenger Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 As of now, I'm really thinking that the villain is going to be an "isolated" one. Probably just the spirit inside the plume, pissed off due to how it was treated. Since it does seem that this game is going to be the "missing link" between P4A and P4G's ending and Dance All Night, bringing in some greater evil behind it all would seem rather awkward at this point. It'd pop up only to get immediately smacked down. As much as I'd like to see the series' resident Lovecraftian horror show up, I'd really have expected there to be some clear reference to P1/2 if that were the case.
Malcopunch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I am just wondering...do you think we will get a fighting game starring the Persona 5 cast...
Strife Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I am just wondering...do you think we will get a fighting game starring the Persona 5 cast... I don't know really. I didn't think they would make a sequel to P4U in the first place and when they announced it, I got really, really surprised, I think it's difficult to keep going since P4's story is almost completed. They could make another one for P5 and so on but that wouldn't be right, I mean, it would be a whole new cast, thus, a whole new game. Anyway, Atlus and ASW did great with P4U and hopefully the sequel will do well too. I hope they keep going while keeping the old cast playable and adding more characters, if possible.

I think Yuichiro Tanaka's words from the P4A art book are important when he says: There are lots of new characters I want to bring in, and I would love it if the name "Persona" eventually earned its place as a staple of the fighting game genre. I also wasn't expecting a P4A2, but if I had seen that before Ultimax was announced, it would have been easy to predict a sequel to P4A. We'll have to see if that passion to make Persona a mainstay with the fighting game genre translates to any after P4A2. It's difficult to envision since P4A2 will supposedly wrap the story up, but who knows what an Arena 3 would turn out to be.
kibakirain Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 2. P4G's True ending is not canon, P4D is not really cannon. P4,P4A and P4U are.. I'm pretty sure P4D is canon. It's stated to take place after P4U2. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/26/persona-4-dancing-night-feature-remixes-japanese-music-artists/
Volt Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 We still don't know if P4G Extended ending is canon. Probably not, but we would need to see how the characters will appear in P4D, which may not be canon itself. Therefore, we shouldn't think that P4U2 will actually finish the Arena storyline. In fact, P4U2 may leave plot points that could be left unresolved even after P5.

In fact, P4U2 may leave plot points that could be left unresolved even after P5. The very fact that Arena is mentioned in the P4G epilogue makes it appear canon more than not. There's no indication whatsoever that the epilogue and P4D are not canon and, given the emphasis of the plot for the dancing game, I think it's safe to assume that that's canon as well.
Malcopunch Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 We won't even know if P5 is connected to P3 and P4 until more info/the actual game comes out. I am pretty sure it will like P4 same universe but with little relevance to the previous game..
heavymetalmixer Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Maybe this sounds repetitive, but now that I finished Aigis' Story Mode, i read one interesting phrase from the Malevolent Entity: "All that irritates me is having to feign cooperation with that foolish human until i obtain the one true vessel." We already knew that this entity isn't human, nor a Shadow (and maybe not a Persona), but the first part of the phrase could mean that the ME is working with Sho or with someone else that knows a lot of the Ergo Research (the experiments that flooded the Persona 3 city with shadows).
FluxWaveZ Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 but the first part of the phrase could mean that the ME is working with Sho I think that's what everyone assumed.
Volt Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The ME is probably what's possessing Sho. (In my opinion, Nyarlathotep disguised as Tsukiyomi.) The problem with P4A's endings is that The Eerie Voice doesn't sound like Sho at all. But Sho said that he has an ally (ME) and from what I've heard, he said that he threw Labrys in the TV or at least decided to use her as the victim. Am I the only one who that there's a third being involved in the story?
Master Of Chaos Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Ok, someone clarify because this is confusing me: is SHO MINIZUKI the ME, no, or do we not have confirmation?
FluxWaveZ Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Ok, someone clarify because this is confusing me: is SHO MINIZUKI the ME, no, or do we not have confirmation? We don't know, so the latter. It's not definite whether or not both Sho characters share the same physical body or not, either.
Tokkan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Ok, someone clarify because this is confusing me: is SHO MINIZUKI the ME, no, or do we not have confirmation? SHO MINAZUKI is the other personality inside Sho's Plume of Dusk. It was SHO who threw Labrys into the TV and the way SHO speaks is more consistent with the Eerie Voice's way of speaking than Sho's speech. He's probably not the ME at this rate.

How is SHO more consistent with the Eerie Voice than ME?
Tokkan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) How is SHO more consistent with the Eerie Voice than ME? I didn't say that. I said he was more consistent with EV than Sho is. However, SHO has claimed to be the one who threw Labrys into the TV and we do know for a fact it was the Eerie Voice who did that and not the ME. There are holes in his claim though, since the Eerie Voice claimed to not have a Persona but SHO most certainly has one. Edited February 2, 2014 by Tokkan
Master Of Chaos Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The Eerie Voice claimed not he could not enter the TV world, as he did not have a Persona, though. Unless SHO somehow gained it in-between then and now. Also, do we know what their connection with ME is?
TPPR10 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I wouldn't put it pst that SHO just unlocked Tsukiyomi. I mean, didn't he say that he threw Labrys into the TV to research how Plumes of Dusk work, or something like that? I might be completely wrong, but he has shown that he is trying to figure out how they work.

The only thing he said in regards to motivation for throwing Labrys inside the television was: ""Heh Heh Heh… That is correct. I am just like you. That is why I chose you. But it seems you were nothing but a hindrance in the end. Of course, it does not matter… It is already too late.""
Malcopunch Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Sorry to bring this us but is Persona X Detective Naoto canon? Also i think SHO is working with someone else who is may or may not be Nyralothep who is responsible for everything behind the scenes but who could it be?
TPPR10 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I think the answer to that question might be "dunno". I think they are just avoiding the whole thing and not saying naything whenever its canon or not. I mean, P4A2 is I think the only SMT game which calls Tsukuyomi Tsukiyomi because Sousei's Persona is Tsukuyomi.

I would like to see what the Persona 3/4 cast will do after P4A2..
