heavymetalmixer Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I think the answer to that question might be "dunno". I think they are just avoiding the whole thing and not saying naything whenever its canon or not. I mean, P4A2 is I think the only SMT game which calls Tsukuyomi Tsukiyomi because Sousei's Persona is Tsukuyomi. In Japanese their pronunciation is different, so is not the same.
TPPR10 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 That is sort of the point. Sousei's Persona is called Tsukuyomi. SHO's Persona is called Tsukiyomi. Normally using either pronoun of the name wouldn't raise any eyebrows, but again, SMT always uses Tsukuyomi BUT P4A2 which uses Tsukiyomi because it has been already been used (and mind you, all playable characters have had different Personas from each other, so if SHO's Persona was indeed called Tsukuyomi, people would assume Detective Naoto would be non-canon.)
Malcopunch Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I have been reading for info. Do you guys think the Mysterious Entity is going to use the Plume of Dusk. I have a feeling the ME will kill Sho and use the Plume of Dusk for his plan..what that plan is i don't know but i have a feeling it might involve Yu..
FluxWaveZ Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 This was Hashino's response to a P4A2 question in the Persona magazine: To go back to the subject of collaborations for a moment, for Persona 4: The Ultimate Ultra Suplex Hold, there's going to be a lot of story content for the home version, isn't there? Hashino: After the first game was released to great reviews, we asked Arc to go ahead and make one more game with us and one of the reasons is so that we could give this storyline some proper closure and tie everything up. We could keep going from there if we really wanted to, but if we ever go in that direction, it'll likely be part of a new story altogether. Interesting stuff. Sounds like everything left in the air from P4A is actually going to be wrapped up in its sequel and, if there's a P4A3, it indeed will have a distinctly different direction in terms of story.
LeDom Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Sounds interesting! This might sound a little random, but I hope there will be more gag endings in this one; only Chie, Yukiko and Kanji had one in the original and I thought that was kind of a let down. As for P4A3, I get the feeling that if it DOES happen, it will be: under a new name, featuring the Persona 5 cast and all of the other characters will make their way into the plot for whatever reason.
Volt Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 As long they don't rush the story and make a "True End" story like BB, I don't mind.
Koopa_Klawz Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I'm worried about how ME will be handled if they're going to wrap up and close the story. It makes me think they're just going to sweep him under the rug while PSho gets most of the screen time. Unless of course this is going to end just the P1 Grand Prix saga and if they do make a P4U3, they'll make a ME saga.

That is certainly possible but what if the ME plotline in P4U2 is used to set up Persona 5 where ME is the main badguy..

This means the Malevolent Entity's identity will be known and his current story, closed. There are way too many questions out there to assume that anything will be swept under the rug. What will come of Elizabeth gaining the Fool arcana? Will we discover the identity of the girl the anti-Shadow weapons Labrys and Aigis are based on? There's the identity of who the "Eerie Voice" was, which is presumably Sho. Why is Adachi there? Why is Tartarus back? Why have members of the Shadow Operatives been crucified? etc. They don't want any loose ends, so I'm not expecting any dumb cliffhangers this time. They never said that.. They didn't explicitly, but you're insane if you think that P4U2 or even P4D will tie into Persona 5 in any meaningful way at all. Edited February 5, 2014 by FluxWaveZ

Well i am sure we are going to see P5 tie into P4 in some way..maybe P4U3..why do i get the feeling Revolver Jesus is involved..
FluxWaveZ Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Well i am sure we are going to see P5 tie into P4 in some way..maybe P4U3..why do i get the feeling Revolver Jesus is involved.. No, no and no. This is ridiculous.
Malcopunch Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 No, no and no. This is ridiculous. Because the Persona series has never been ridiculous..
Luminos564 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Because the Persona series has never been ridiculous.. Ridiculous sure, but they seem to be following their own set of rules as well. Of course, it's not like there hasn't been a series where the previously established rules have not been broken in favor of something else...
FluxWaveZ Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Because the Persona series has never been ridiculous.. That's not what I'm talking about when I say "ridiculous." What I'm talking about is the nonsense speculation that some come up with like what you're saying as though Persona 4 or P4A2 will lead into Persona 5 or that Takaya will be involved. Now THAT is ridiculous.

I wonder what the ending of P4U2 will be like and will it lead into another game..
Luminos564 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I still think Persona 5 will be conncect to 4 in some way even if it's a small cameo like in P4. Eh, I'd rather not. P3 had a mini-mention of the Nanjo group but that's it. Otherwise it was its own thing. P4 may take place in the same world as P3, but was pretty much its own scenario until Arena merged them. I think that is enough and just wish that P5 has absolutely nothing to do continuity-wise with the previous titles.

Anyway i hope the story will be CP length..they probably need a story that long in order to finish over the plot-lines from P4A
Volt Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 P5 will most likely be a game with it's own story like P3 and P4. That doesn't mean any plot devices used in Arena can't be used there. For example, Personas turning back into Shadows and who knows if the events of P4U2 won't have any impacts in P5.

RifleAvenger Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Any reference to past games in P5 will likely be of the sort seen in P3/P4 (brief mention of Nanjo, on some days brief TV programs interviewing people implied to be the party members of previous games, visit to an area important in a past game, or a brief reference or cameo). The only game where the party of the previous game played some important role in the main plot was P2, and they were relegated to the background by the endgame in both IS and EP anyways. If P5 is anything less than its own, mostly self-contained story about a new set of people and their issues and struggles, I'll be disappointed. As for another Persona fighter, I'm pretty sure this will be the last of the P4U series. If they did another one, it'd probably be a long way down the road, and thus quite possibly a very different game.

What I said is that doesn't rule out the possibility of P4U2 events affecting concepts in the Persona series, including P5. However, we're getting a little off-topic here aren't we?
Malcopunch Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah we are..I am just wondering about something. Do you ME plans have anything to do with Nyx or Erebus..maybe ME is planning to break the seal on Nyx
