I remember +R videos of it. The combo is really strict, from watching nakamura practice on stream so apart from woshige ive never seen any millia players try it

Yup.  Pretty crazy considering how long the game is out and no one bothered trying that, at least in all the videos I've seen.  It's seems pretty crazy as it is.

Nakamura should be second. Woshige from the last I checked is top ranked player in Japan

No1 is GG PLAYERq(^-^q) and Im guessing thats Nakamura as he does use GGPlayer, hadnt seen him with smiley added before I think :3

On the other hand Satou has downgraded a lot I really enjoy his Millia, but he hit some hard times. Theres some Millias between Satou and Toruso too.

Satou is amazing but you can tell he wasn't a hardcore Millia player before, if you've watched Woshige and Nakamura you can tell just the way they approach neutral is different.

 

On the other hand Toruso is freaking blowing me away. I wasn't expecting him to become this good and do so well in such a short span of time.

Has Toruso ever played Millia before Xrd? I know his Eddie was great in AC(and still rocks a 14th dan Zato as a sub iirc). Or maybe the transition from using Eddie to Millia was easy for him? From my experience at least it isn't too hard going between the two.

No idea if he played Millia at the very beginning of the XX series. I only recall him as a Eddie player. Teyah or Goldenrody might know it though.

 

He could be like Eki-chan who used to play Millia before making the switch to a different character.

Funny, I was discussing this locally with some players earlier.  We weren't sure if Toruso was a new player in +R, or if he did play earlier (which we assumed since he was using Eddie... I mean nobody comes into +R and picks Eddie, right?)

 

So I did some digging through my old hard drives and was able to find two videos from 2007, posted on the TRF (Tokyo Ranking Fighters) blog.  Both are of Toruso using Eddie; in the first one he lost pretty handily to a May, and in the second he beat Kusoru's Sol and Sasami's Jam.  His play wasn't very developed and you could see his matchup experience was really lacking compared to his +R run, so I would say it's safe to assume that he has been playing at least somewhat consistently since 2007.  But the switch to Millia is definitely a new development for sure.

Well funny enough, Karinchu is also a Millia to watch all of a sudden :3 Even the mikado commentator announced  Karinchu Ramlethal, then was like wait what, oh I guess its karinchu Millia....

 

Poor Toruso took a beating from him(and right after he beat up poor Satou :3 Man a 3vs 3 that was 50% Millia XD)

I think I read on Goldenrody's twitter that Karinchu played Millia back in Accent Core +R.

toruso apparently played eddie since reload but i dont think any footage of him came until ac and karinchu was a johnny player

Gotta get that knockdown. Jun seems to be having the beginnings of a throw combo now that ends in knockdown.

Haven't managed to watch any recent vids lately but as far as I know she can only do throw combos at the corner on very few characters (such as Faust). Some of them are not even too reliable so it's no wonder that Millia players prefer would rather go for the knockdown first.

Nice. Doesn't even seem to have any weird timing at all.

 

Haven't talked to JUN on Twitter in ages but I might ask him if that works on all of the cast or not.

 

Seeing it work on Millia could likely mean that it might indeed work on nearly everyone.

I thought so as well since she looks like she's got a small hitbox.
