Setsuna Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 That's weird. I have a collection of DFC videos and I see a decent chunk of Taiga videos. I often go to AbelcruEX or Gamecho for my DFC match updates and with the ones I've got I seen a few matches of her in some respective videos. Maybe from other arcades, I mainly do strictly LL uploads because they're consistent in play and arguably the highest in play IMO I'll watch others and the play isn't something I want to upload when, trying to convince people to play the game is hard when its spread out between too many arcades and they're unfamiliar what play is good or not and if they stumble upon a bad video of matches it can have a false impression on them.
LarsMasters Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Anybody think the real Akira will be playable in the next month/few months later along with an unannounced character (either guest from Sega too or another (look at Under Night for example has 2 guests (1 from Type-Moon, and 1 from Subtle Style) or another almost unrecognizable Dengeki anime series, or even almost unrecognizable well known character like Yuji from Shana, Accelerator from Majutsu, Takumi from Accel World or Izaya from Durarara!)? There's only either 4 or 2 more slots available How many months for FrenchBread to add the 2 new characters so far?

ivanchu77 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Whelp, that explains why so few people play her, sad to see that Taiga is low tier
Kirito235 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 GO1 and SAT's new tier listhttps://twitter.com/Lucky__Chance/status/487536758758723584/photo/1 Glad to see that my namesake is still coming strong in this game. He seems to be bordering between A to S though, but I suppose that makes sense due to his great offense and damage, but his defense is something to be desired and get wrecked easily when pinned down. Taiga being low is a surprise especially with the videos I've seen her play she does good damage and she can handle her own quite well in some regards. But than again it's still early and some, if not all, characters potential hasn't been fully explored or put into practice yet. Can't wait to see how the tiers will change when Yukina and Rentaro get added to the game this month. But still glad to see that my namesake is still strong and one of the top contenders in this game.
SoWL Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm more sad about Shizuo's low position, though you kinda get used to it after playing grapplers for so long.Whelp, that explains why so few people play her, sad to see that Taiga is low tier It could also be the other way around, and she's low tier because not enough people play her to discover good tech.
TekkamanArk Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 This tier list is full of surprises. I'm not surprised that Shizuo is so low down there (and rather happy about it, because Durarara sucks), and Taiga looked super meh, but i'm very surprised Miyuki is so low. I thought Kuroyukihime was running things, but Shana and Kirino are better than her now? Mikoto also surprises me, i'd have imagined she would be higher.
Vulcan422 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Why am I not surprised that Shizuo is at the bottom and Kirito is close to the top?
SoWL Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Why am I not surprised that Shizuo is at the bottom and Kirito is close to the top?Well, Kirito's only number 5 (in a 10-character roster) and has more weak points than Taiga, I wouldn't call that "close to the top". Top of the mid tier, sure. I'm not surprised that Shizuo is so low down there (and rather happy about it, because Durarara sucks)That's a whole new kind of tier bias.
Setsuna Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 This Tier List looks pretty much the same as previous Tier List with the inclusion of Miyuki and Taiga, since there was no balance change at all I don't see a reason for the tier's to change or look different to previous judgement. From what I've seen of Taiga she seems like a pretty honest character who doesn't really have a place she excels in specifically IMO Miyukis placing is really surprising to me I feel like she would be much higher than that or at least just below Kirito and Asuna.
Kirito235 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Well, Kirito's only number 5 (in a 10-character roster) and has more weak points than Taiga, I wouldn't call that "close to the top". Top of the mid tier, sure. That's a whole new kind of tier bias. As someone who's dedicated to my namesake, I, too, question his placing on the tier listings. Characters with faster pokes, okizeme, and better neutral pretty much puts him in delicate situations, and his defense is not much to be desired. He needs to take more risks than the average character which sort of separates himself from the rest of the cast. I'm glad he's high tier, but lately Kirito's haven't been doing too well, and that saddens me. Miyukis placing is really surprising to me I feel like she would be much higher than that or at least just below Kirito and Asuna. I was scratching my head when I saw Miyuki's placing on the tier list. I personally think she's on the same level as Kuroyukihime and Asuna, and a bit higher than Kirito. Specially since her damage is really good, she has great mobility and range on her attacks, and her defense options are really good. It's like you said, the tier haven't changed much and there's still much time for match ups to change. But with the cast going to be 12 soon, I wonder if the DFC community will sit down more thoroughly and see where each characters stands as the game further develops.
pokemonblaze234 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Tier lists never make sense to me because they are never 100% accurate for example Taiga's low tier because NO BODY USES HER!!! But still i'm very surprised about Miyuki being low tier, did the person that made this list not play very good/enough Miyuki's for her to be suck a low tier.

I'm glad he's high tier, but lately Kirito's haven't been doing too well, and that saddens me. I mean... the weaknesses you described to me is just "your neutral" as a player to me. There aren't a lot defense options in the game as is so I don't see how this is unique to him. He has excellent range on his normals so with good neutral control he can easily be dominate in any match up (please see GO1 matches), as far as "risks" I don't really see that as a major factor for him the second he does into duel wield is already long normals become much stronger and much bigger.Well, Kirito's only number 5 (in a 10-character roster) and has more weak points than Taiga, I wouldn't call that "close to the top". caiooa Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 dude, he was just reading what is in the go1/SAT tier list. It really placed shana, kirino and yukihime above kirito. He probably mistaked asuna as above kirito while they actually are placed in almost the same height. But asuna is muuuch more in the right side. While much lower than the rest, taiga is the right side (different from shizuo). And then, the total of characters of the game is 10 as it is now (as the update with blackbullet bro and the chick of strike the blood isn't out yet). He's really as 4th/5th position in the tier, in a game with 10 characters.
Number 13 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Surprised that Miyuki was placed that low from what I seen

sibladeko Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Bored, been a while since I did one of these. Anyway, after some digging, I've figured out most of the aliases in the top 20 Grade or so players, so without further ado: 1. niga Kirino (you might remember this guy doing Sion infinites in Melty when it was in SBO, GG Slayer) Current nick: ネオ・ジオング 2. jin Asuna (MB Hisui, Uniel Hyde) Current nick: ジン 3. GO1 Kirito (a neutral god, MB Akiha, AP Chizuru, Uniel Gordeau) Current nick: ガリレオ信者 (lol Galileo's fan) 4. OZ Shana (no 1 AP Chizuru, old KOF player) Current nick: O Z 5. butter/batta Kirino (no 1 AP Konomi, old KOF player) Current nick: petit milajin 6. hummer Tomoka (AC Zappa, P4U Narukami) Current nick: はま~ 7. kasumi LOVE Asuna (SBO Arcana 2 and 3 winner Akane, P4U Narukami) Current nick: かすみLOVE 8. bob Kuroyukihime (MB White Len) Current nick: ぼ(・8・)ぶ 9. maruyan Kuroyukihime (MB Mechahisui) Current nick: 春咲千和 10. SAT Kirito (MB Nero, Uniel Carmine) Current nick: ミスター・ブシドー Edited: Because AIME lets you change names a lot easier than Nesica, players constantly change their tags around to joke names and aliases. I've included the current ones they are under, but they might change again in the future.
caiooa Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 IN OTHER NEWS Location testing for Yukina and Rentarou happens tomorrow ~! yeah http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/000/884/884232/
SoWL Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 yeah http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/000/884/884232/ Now this article got a lot of interesting info. Rentarou: - 236A/B/C makes him shoot his gun. Different buttons have different trajectories, and you can then use your Assist to get closer to the opponent. - 214A/B/C makes him perform some close-combat attacks. 214A is a straight punch, 214B is a sweep, and 214C is a jumping hit. All these attacks have Extended Action, greatly affecting their properties. - 214[A] makes Rentarou's fist glow, blowing the opponent back on hit. It also becomes hard to punish it on block. - 214 doesn't change much, but deals greater damage. - 214[C] becomes an overhead. - j.214A/B/C makes Rentarou perform a downward kick. Different buttons have different reach. The EX version ground-bounces the opponent. Also, Rentarou can mash C to perform more kicks. - His neutral Impact Skill is an anti-air uppercut after a dash, while his backward one is an overhead. - Rentarou's Trump Card drastically increases his movement speed. - His supers is the usual auto-combo and the super-uppercut that's similar to his IS. Yukina: - 236A/B/C is a Sekkarou thrust. The reach increases with the button's strength. After hitting the opponent, you can press the button again to pull them in. The EX version adds an extra hit after the pull that blows them away. - 214A/B/C makes Yukina jump and charge forwards in midair. The jumping height increases with the button's strength. You can then press an additional button to either charge again (A) or dive down (B and C). - j.214A/B/C is similar to grounded 214A/B/C's B and C follow-ups. Extended Action makes a small shockwave as Yukina lands. - Neutral Impact Skill is a two-hit attack. Though it's easily punishable, its hitbox is good enough to be used in combos. For example, you can cancel it into an Assist and follow it up with the EX thrust. - Downward Impact Skill is an anti-air palm thrust from the screenshot. Apparently, it comes out pretty fast. - The Trump Card is a powerful overhead swing with Sekkarou with great range. Thanks to its upper hitbox, you can also punish jumping at medium distance with it. - Her auto-combo super is the only one that can be performed in mid-air. Moreover, since the opponent is locked in place on first hit, there's no way for them to drop down in the middle of the combo. - The other super makes her charge forward before landing the first hit and proceeding with another auto-combo. Enju: - Neutral Assist makes her jump in from beyond the screen and kick the opponent. Its fast start-up makes it easy to use in combos or keep the opponent in place. - Directional Assist summons her in front of the player, as she kicks the opponent up in the air. Since they can't recover from it up until the knockdown, feel free to follow it up with your favorite combo. - She also has a third Assist option that is performed by holding down the Assist button. If you do, Enju appears and applies a status effect to the opponent that lasts about 10 seconds. If they try to call their own Assist while it's active, Enju appears again and kicks their Assist away, preventing them from doing anything. Kojou: - Neutral Assist makes him summon Regulus Aurum, a golden lion, which strikes the opponent with homing lightning strikes. The start-up is quite slow, but Kojou appears right where you stand (not in front of you), so you can protect him during the summon. - Directional Assist makes him summon Al-Nasl-Minium, a crimson bicorn, which attacks the enemy with crimson light. It comes out faster than the neutral Assist and floats the opponent on hit, allowing you to follow it up with an aerial combo.
Rhapsody Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Video of Yukina. Hopefully this hasn't been posted yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CVZhDKiOfg
Tokkan Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Yukina has a special intro with Kojou when you use him as her assist, lol. They just had to put that stupid catch phrase in there somehow.
Kirito235 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 No kidding. I wonder if it's because of that fact that the comment section on the Youtube video was disabled lol. Anyways... Yukina has good reach (as expected). and she can wall bounce and move around from side to side. The Akatsuki assist looks pretty cool, but probably won't hold a candle to the all powerful and well used Kino assist.

I need more details on Kojous Assist but right now it takes too long to activate, there has to be more pros to it besides combo extenders it rules out assist cancelling for pressure. What I'm more interested in seeing though is "She also has a third Assist option that is performed by holding down the Assist button. Betto Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 What catch phrase? "No Senpai, this is OUR fight" Anyways, I'm still bitter about the lack of Rentaro footage. 'till next week I guess.
