Thursday in Japan is still Wednesday here, they can ship it in such a way that it has a chance of arriving Friday depending on your shipping method.

That is true there is a chance for it to arrive before the dreaded Sunday with EMS but I have no faith in the US Postal Service whatsoever. Crack. Fighting Games(or just games in general) cost wayyyy too much. Moving on. Any bets or guesses on how large the Digital version will be? Uniel was like 2Gb but it didn't have a story mode.

Only reason to go digital with the psn card markup is so you will have the game right away really. No other reason. I can wait in order to get the game with a case and a manual and a little cloth thingy or whatever amiami is giving you for preorders as well as some kinda magazine. All that extra fluff is worth waiting 3 days. (and I don't understand buying the game twice, not even a little bit, do you have literally every other game/figure/anime/controller/poster/tshirt thing that you want and are free to waste money like that? lol)

Tigre Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Hard copies are nice, and I tend to pick them up, down the road, but definitely- for an event organizer it's such a wonderful thing to have almost every game as day one digital. Especially with last gen hardware hitting the cheaper price points they're at (ps3s are still notably more expensive than 360s) The biggest hitch with running events at this point is monitors. Not only do you have to be careful with what monitors are used for lag, but they tend to be more expensive. LCDs are also not nearly as robust as crts ;;

Is there anything banned (for example Golden characters in GG) or any other exception, or is the same old rules? I don't know much about Dengeki but a friend wants to run a tournament and he's asking me what are the standard tournament rules for this. I don't even know if this is 2 out of 3 or what, I haven't seen much of the game

Also that type of shipping wind up costing about the same price as it take to get digital or even more. Yeah most will offer insurance should anything happen to your package but I’m sure its long winded process. all of sudden that 3 day thing could be 14 day ordeal. I'm far too impatient for that. Not to mention some games don’t have install hard drive features. And then one they do still seem slower than digitally dedicated game. And if you were going to install game to your system...might as well went digital.
Metronome Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 There's no doubt digital is convenient but I like free collectibles! Don't think there's any tournament standard rules that I've seen. Most of the footage seems like it's best of 1 double elims but I think best of 3 is a better choice is most cases. IMO feel free to run a tourney however you want, since the game is new there shouldn't be any complaints.
