低姿勢 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I dont get why sometimes bridget's throw messes up. oops sorry, guess ive been with my vainty lately... You could always just ummm PM to.. maybe faster.... umm anyway... I dunno about this paticular bridget thing about switching sides.. I guess id have to look at it and play around with it. Only paticular bridget throw type stuff I know of is that testment web with her throw, P bug throw stuff, and certain characters throwing her then hitting her yoyo crapola and it fucking it up or something. shrug.. But if what the mog dude is saying is how it is, and that is satisfying to replicate it to say... Id say.. umm thats fine enough or something shrug lol... I guess just since im posting yadda yadda in case throw type bugs come up again if it doesnt have to do with one of these I probably dont know it, unless I forgot it off hand which is possible since im dum... -If you throw a guy when is on the ground but counted in the air(say example when you make your self invincable on the ground for awhile from neutral tech as low as possible... possible with other things of course but just example)when you throw a guy it counts as part of the combo(though note I think they took this out of AC that I recall its been awhile since ive played). Also it fucks up the game randomly. So things happeningly randomly isnt entirely out of the question. At least... Random as far as im concerned. Say I know for ky example say you do(a easy set up to say) light saber type combos guy neutral techs to make himself invincable when he lands for a bit, well if you time the throw correctly it will combo on the meter, but randomly the guy will tech or fly off the screen. Shrug go figure. Never really figured out why the latter happens just know that it does shrug... -Obviously in AC now throw break type stuff(warning im fuzzy on some of these as again I havnt played in awhile id need to rejog my memory). You can throw break by doing special moves as well. It cancles your recovery and that I recall it always put you at a fake advatnage. So the opponent can never tecinquly throw you first if you do something like this. Obviously it also works in the air. You can also throw break with hs and FD or hs and any other button or parry. That I recall FD always puts you at the advantage no matter what. However it is a fake type advantage as the other guy remains invincable no mater what. Parry also does this however randomly you can be hit. So its like sometimes the game realizes you can parry and then says you can be hit.(Of course this means thered have to be another attack on the screen to hit you)In the air for some reason parry can happen not awlays on even break? where as FD always gives you the even break with you at advantage also when done in the air you can acctualy attack the person as they are no longer invincable like on the ground. Also theres something random with bursting in the air to. I want to say the guy at the advantage is allowed to attack but not to burst for a couple seconds if you do this, or maybe its the other way around. Hrmm im dum and I forget. Also note that in certain instances(Have to keep some seekrits I guess)you can also make yourself invincable to throws by doing this period. So the other guy can no longer throw you. They will always just get HSs etc. Also note there are some bugs that work with this when you try to combo into throws, so its pretty usefull there. So say someone hits you with stagger move, if you do that you are invincable and if guy tries to throw you there throw will go through you and you can combo them. Also you can even automaticly get out of stagger this way. Theres some other instnaces where you can combo throws with out stagger on the ground but there random and again some seekrits make the game funnier I guess.... besides doing say FD type stuff to be invincable, you could always be ghetto and buffer a move with hs right when you think you are going to be thrown something like that will make you invincable durning a period like that and you will come out of stun or a buggy type sitution automaticly with your move shrug. -of course XX had if you air through something that had momentum you kept momentum durning throw yadda yadda. -chipp throws axl, jam , dizzy, anji wrong way. Player 2 chipp can do random throw stuff ion the corner on axl. And theres some aba thing chipp has in slash. Im pretty sure its in ac as I think I saw a video of it as well. Oh acctualy that reminds me, ummm chipps leaf throw throws from diff directions to. So guess thats not only bridget. shrug... Acctualty my hands are tired so im gonna stop. Plus im getting off track I guess anyway. I guess in general umm yea I think most the throw stuff is pretty known and dunno about this bridget thing. But like I said if this mog dude is saying how it is, i guess thats how it is or something. So umm yea im dum I think in general a lot of throw bugs if I know them you probably know them as well at least for bridget. I cant really think of anything specfic off hand that isnt well known. shrug *sneaks out*
Mascarpone Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Well accent core hit the Americas today and naturally I picked up a copy. I'm confussled, In many you tube videos i watched (oh the anticipation was brutal) Bridget could do some absolutely wild things with his yo yo, a few examples: stopping his yo yo mid recall, locking it back in it's buffer state (spinning but not moving), Whirling around targets from behind, etc. I cannot for the life of me figure out how its done, and nothing of the nature appears on his command list. Anyone have the solution to this puzzle?

excelence Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 noobs question here, how the heck i can utilize air 5 set and the timming for using this set on ^C (>.<)
excelence Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 my first question haven't been answered... well i'll stick on 1 / 7 set (;-_-)a next question... how do i connect 2s counter hit with combos?... all i can do is j.s, starship ... i didn't even get a knockdown (T-T)
LH621 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 noobs question here, how the heck i can utilize air 5 set and the timming for using this set on ^C (>.<) air set 5 has various uses in AC...one of the main uses being unblockable setups (ex. 2D FRC, air set 5, Roger Get, 2S (unblockable), B&B...depending on the situation, you might need to IAD low before doing the 2S). Its also a pretty good keep away tool....air set 5, IAD backwards, call back for instance. There's other uses, but thats some examples. If you want a interesting combo involving air set 5: 5K JI, c.S (2), KSMH K RC, air set 5, Roger Get, IAD backwards, 2S (unblockable), 5K B&B. - if you have problems actually hitting the "unblockable" portion of the combo, just IAD backwards at various times. The opponent will have to guess whether or not bridget would cross back over them or not. next question... how do i connect 2s counter hit with combos?... all i can do is j.s, starship ... i didn't even get a knockdown (T-T) About the 2S combo ability, the 2S CH, 6S jC, j.s, j.2s JC, j.s, j.2s is possible depending on how close you are (im pretty sure with some characters, distance isnt as big as a factor as it is with others). Normally if i connect a CH 2S at max distance, i 2K cancel the move and attempt to air throw the opponent...either that or AA them. But unless you air throw them, your not gonna get a knockdown off of that move ever. Hope that helps you out a little bit.
722 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 next question... how do i connect 2s counter hit with combos?... all i can do is j.s, starship ... i didn't even get a knockdown (T-T) You can also do 2S, 2K cancel, 6S, the rest, but it's awkward.
Frank The Tank Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 next question... how do i connect 2s counter hit with combos?... all i can do is j.s, starship ... i didn't even get a knockdown (T-T) At the right distance you can do CH 2S~whiff 2K, immediate j.P~2S~etc. Against Anji (and prolly other chars too, just haven't tested it yet) you can do j.P~j.S~j.2S xx Roll~j.2S, dj. stuff for good damage. EDIT, This is the most useful application. Jais
feri Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Delay wakeup > Back throw > roger jet > jump > j.d? Is this a solid enough option? Will it not get thrown by any chars? Apologies if this has already been mentioned (It isn't on the Unblocks list). Did Buri some justice in the Ranbats in Aus, Melbourne's growing Guilty Gear scene. We've got lots of catching up to do. That means I need to get serious and learn my matchups and actually own a copy to practice with.
Jais Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Delay wakeup > Back throw > roger jet > jump > j.d? Is this a solid enough option? Will it not get thrown by any chars? Apologies if this has already been mentioned (It isn't on the Unblocks list). This is solid as hell, in fact lol I've been using this since forever ago, Slash a go go. The only problem is on certain characters you have to either jump straight up or jump up forward and cross over them through the course of your j.D. But yes I rep this HARD. PS: Slayer just backdashes and or backdash air throw you, it sux, Thanks Mac =P
tsukihimeblood Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 is bridget's dust safe? not really, but if you have a yo-yo out you can cancel it into a roll (214k) after it hits.
722 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Is bridget's Dust safe? How many normals cancel to 6K? Can you combo off of 6k w/o tension? What are the application of her 6P? I don't see this stuff on the Basics guide. =(There's waaay more missing from the guide than that. I'm guessing you're not asking because you need to know, but rather to help with the strategy dicsussion? I'm working on a beginners' guide to Bridget right now that's currently about twelve pages handwritten and has writeups for every single move more or less... it will be up before long. Also, some of the information you're looking for is in the basics guide, it's just in weird places, like the miscellaneous section has an entire writeup on how unsafe 5D is and everything you can do with it, and there are meterless combos off of 6K listed.
Kyle Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 How many of you players actually SJI off of 6S? Or do you prefer to do 5P, JI, 6S, SJc, ... 5K, JI, 6S, SJc, ...? I have a HARD time doing it consistently, what I found that works is 6S~[8], SJc on the hit. I mean Toward + Slash than almost instantly HOLD up, than super jump cancel on the hit. It feels like - 6HS~[3], SVD or - 6P, 6HS~[3], Vertical ball.
blitz Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 How many of you players actually SJI off of 6S? Or do you prefer to do 5P, JI, 6S, SJc, ... 5K, JI, 6S, SJc, ...? I do 5K then do 896S 19
baku Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 i got the come ck glitch to work....when its gattling'd,....my question is, is there a way to do the corner combo, possibly easer that what im trying? like hand positions or something?

If so, ring finger on hardslash, first finger on slash... while holding hardslash with your ring finger, hit slash for the close slash with your first finger, then slide your ring finger off (more likes scrape it quickly away from) the hardslash while simultaneously pressing hardslash with your middle finger. That's how I do it.
woki Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hi, I've been practicing this.. but it's so hard. Do most people do this by switching fingers (that's how I'm doing it btw) or is there a better way? Or do people just memorize the timing and do it with one finger?
722 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hi, I've been practicing this.. but it's so hard. Do most people do this by switching fingers (that's how I'm doing it btw) or is there a better way? Or do people just memorize the timing and do it with one finger? Thanks in advance. Are you on a joystick? I do it by positioning my ring finger on the H button with the middle finger close by, then sliding the ring finger off and tapping with the middle finger immediately. For cases when you need to do it repeatedly (like close S infinite), I don't switch fingers the way most people are probably thinking (and doing successfully); I'll keep the button held down and switch to the ring finger without releasing it, so that each actual rep of the glitch is going from the ring finger to the middle finger and there's no alternation. I can't do it by alternating fingers. Don't worry if you can't get it, it's a peripheral tactic.
woki Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Are you on a joystick? Yeah, I recently switched to stick just so I can play Buri. (I'm still getting used to stick though..) I'll keep the button held down and switch to the ring finger without releasing it Now that's an awesome tip. I'll try it right away. Thank you and have a happy thanksgiving, sir!! Edit: the result --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=hM5T7QTXNmg Now I'm getting hang of this.
feri Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I'm having troubles landing 2d frc UB. I stick out the j.k while descending and roger always hits first *sobs* This might sound silly but... How do you zone effectively? That is what Bridget players should be doing half the time, right? + Am jump installing now It was about time too. + Glitch bears... yummy. + 2d far FRC UB... delicious. + burst baits... gourmet food. - Get frustrated when I screw up a glitch bear or re-buffer in a match.. that its taking its toll on my char overall. - not using starship enough.. lol. - not enough JI KSMH UB < will learn the hang of it soon. - I complain about other characters TOO MUCH.
LH621 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 This might sound silly but... How do you zone effectively? That is what Bridget players should be doing half the time, right? . when you say that u cant land the 2D FRC UB setup b/c roger hits 1st, are u talking about the body slam hitting 1st or the ground slide? Zoning effectively (imo) normally includes the following: 1) the pokes....f.S, 2D, 6S, 2S, j.S 2) proper yo yo sets.... 4set, 7set (and to a lesser extent, 6 set..either in the air or on the ground) 3) Plenty of yo yo callbacks *** (w/ or w/o holding it initially) 4) Roger junk.....calling out razor roger/roger get alot, depending on the situation. Roger rush is also a decent zoning move, but its better used as a rush down move imo. Roger hug ~ FB Roger rush works much better for zoning...but i dont personally use this one very often. if it works for u, go for it 5) staying away from the opponent (via 214K FDC shenanagins, backdashes, IAD, etc.)..see next statement for more info*** You also need this mindset intact...u need to be at a distance where the opponent cant hit u, but u can hit him/her. zoning does not specifically mean your on the complete opposite side of the screen hugging the corner....but 50% of the time, it comes down to that. Glitching is something that i personally use a shit-ton during a match as a zoning tool as well (but also as a rush down gimmick if i see fit), but its by no means necessary to do. It just helps a little (if your facing someone who's never seen it, i guarantee u they will freeze up 90% of the time), so if u cant get it down 100%, there's no need to be upset about it. if u keep doing it, over time, it'll just come naturally. *aside note* depending on the character, zoning is not always the "go-to" method to get a win. Hope that helps a little bit
Jais Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 I'm having troubles landing 2d frc UB. I stick out the j.k while descending and roger always hits first *sobs* I only use 2D FRC UB if it's further(hits) into a combo, I don't likegive up the free damage from 2D~FRC, run 5K~6S~B&B This might sound silly but... How do you zone effectively? That is what Bridget players should be doing half the time, right? Zoning is controlling your space efficiently while keeping others out. First I had a real problem zoning b/b of the lack of damage output, you have to ignore this and concentrate on running away and countering then when they jump, run in etc. + Am jump installing now It was about time too. + Glitch bears... yummy. + 2d far FRC UB... delicious. + burst baits... gourmet food. no comment =P - Get frustrated when I screw up a glitch bear or re-buffer in a match.. that its taking its toll on my char overall. - not using starship enough.. lol. - not enough JI KSMH UB < will learn the hang of it soon. - I complain about other characters TOO MUCH. Sounds like you are trying glitch bear too much. Seriously guys watch jp vids...it's not as frequent as one would like. DON'T have the same mindset as Criminal Symphony! You can have a Bridget better than mine and not use the glitch bear once. Don'tl let glitch bear hamper your overall game. Starship sux now, it trades w/ low's and most HS's, I generally only use it for a throw bait on Oki now. Or IFF I know i beats certain ballsy moves etc. JIKSMH~K~RC, HSS_7, Roger Get UB is escapable, quite easily actually bitches get hit w/ it cause they just don't know. It's all about your mind set going into it. I used to have the same problem. Just play realizing your (Set-upless,abahare)damage output is shit and theirs is amazing. Lol I casual w/ a May(250+, knockdown),Hos(200, knockdown/ 250, no knockdown), and Anji(200,knockdown). You have to realize you are going into an uphill battle in the first place,
Jais Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 I really want everyone to reply to this. I'll add it in the guide, if everyone approves, I found a solid ass Dust Combo that does 138 on Venom. Please post up all your guys' dust combos and we'll compare dick sizes. =] What dust combos does everyone use?
excelence Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 What dust combos does everyone use? i'm using just basic Dust combo ;D 5d,[9]j.s,j.s,j.k,j2s,dj.s,j.2s,starship most of the time i nailed a standing dust attack is when i caught them with any Roger moves,... so yeah... i've never bothered with Rolling Idou cancel (;^_^)>
Frank The Tank Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 What dust combos does everyone use? I don't really dust too much, cuz Buri's dust is ass, so if I do I normally have a held yoyo ready if(when) it gets blocked. When that happens and it hits, I do the standard Gatling dust combo. I used to do the cool j.2S x2, 3set thing, back when I would dust on purpose.
