edollarports Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 You can control that distance with 3C, I think. It's a pretty good option for that range.
AdmiralAugustus Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I agree with Fatalis for the AAs, 2C is good and (as everything with Gordeau) nets you a good reward. Dont forget we have the option select 1ACD for throw/assault. Very powerful when used correctly. Now I have a question about defense. Most of the time I will try to break the opponents pressure with 2b,2a or shielding an assault. However the range of the two normals is too limited against certain opponents. From my experience 3C can sometimes catch them off guard and 214A will also work to lame your way out against whiffs. I know this isnt really clear, but take it as the question: How do you deal with pressure just a bit past 2b range? What is this option select you speak of :O
drugtown Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 What is this option select you speak of :O 1+A+C+D if they try and throw, you tech if they don't, you get 2C and anti-air them with it
GreekAscendedDust Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 made a 7K combo. Hope ya like it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnaNDy6PINI&feature=youtu.be
Reioumu Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 1+A+C+D if they try and throw, you tech if they don't, you get 2C and anti-air them with itNo, it's 2A+C+D. If you do 1 you get a low shield and then get hit by assault, get GRD broken, and they laugh. If you want to sideswap with CH 2C anti-air you can as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L26-WhuEnp4

LuminAbyss Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Anyone know how fast Gordeau's Force Function is?
Suiname Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 So anyone wanna discuss what the worst match ups are and what to do in them? I feel like Hilda and vautista are hard matchups, at least even, maybe even in their favor. I also think waldstein is bad and I've heard some say merkava is a bad matchup though personally I haven't had trouble (maybe just haven't run into a good one yet).

spiralfang Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Are there any useful bnbs i can practice just to get started with
Fatalis Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Check the link on the first post to the wiki page for Gordeau. There's a bunch of combos listed there.
drugtown Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Are there any useful bnbs i can practice just to get started with 5A > 5C > 5C > 236A > 236A > 2C > j.[C] > 3C > 236A > 236A > 236A
susano Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I have a question. How do you guys start off with neutral in a matchup? My biggest weakness is neutral but I am working on it.
edollarports Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 hit buttons don't whiff big buttons grim reapa
Orrax Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 At the beginning of a match, I often do either Mortal Slide, assault j.B, or nothing. Sometimes I may do 5C, and sometimes I may do B Grim Reaper, but the latter I only do if I'm sure they're hitting buttons. That said, A Grim Reaper is pretty safe, assuming it comes out in time. I've been trying to use it more lately as a spacing too -- it seems useful, but the slow start up is something to be wary of. Every now and then I will run in if I'm sure they're respecting me. Of course, this changes if I have meter. If I've got 100 meter, I usually start with B Grim Reaper, and if it is blocked or it whiffs I do 236C and go from the frame advantage there.

Just need tips for my own neutral.
day1combos Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Hi guys. I am new to this forum and look forward to gaining some good info for this character in uniel. I am a USF4 player primarily but am making my way into anime with this game. I bought a PS3 specifically for this game.
Psycho Hibiki Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Looking at GO1 footage and I'm curious as to this blockstring he does around 35:49 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOeRZ2kkbCM#t=2148 He manages to use 5B 5A 5B in a blockstring and I've seen it used in multiple confirms by him. It's also used as a hit confirm string around 37:40 later in the vid. How does this work exactly? Doesn't it break chain combo rules?
Maho Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 The autocombo bypasses the chain rules, the blockstring he does there is actually 5B 5AA.
Psycho Hibiki Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 The autocombo bypasses the chain rules, the blockstring he does there is actually 5B 5AA. Wow really? That's interesting.
edollarports Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 5B 5AA is one of Gord's better strings, even on block, moves back in. As for neutral, I was being serious earlier
Soniti Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Anyone have 5b anti-air combos? I haven't seen any so I made up these from other combo parts: 5b j.b(2) j.c 3c 2b 3c 236bx3 2828 damage 5b j.b(2) j.c 3c 2b 5c[half charge] CS j.b(2) j.c 3c 236a x3 3255 damage
