Orrax Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Is that Linne only? Edited August 28, 2014 by Orrax
Rhiya Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Yeah. I'm checking, and it looks like only Linne can get hit by immediate 3C after OTG 2b, which enables the loop. In short, it's hilarious, but I don't think it's any sort of issue. Unless the meter gain is screwy, it's gonna be more work for less return, and since it only works on Linne, well... Just learn it and pocket it for ragequit tech =3
drugtown Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 i'd be so fuckin pissed if some gord did that to me i ain't even gonna pretend i wouldn't be
Pitzer Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Hello fellow Gord players, I found an interesting (Swag) Side swap combo with gord but it costs 100 meter. Generally you want to do any combo into 236A, 236A, wait then 22C, the last hit of 22C should whiff then you can 236A, 236A, 236A, otg for a side swap. This however is very hard to preform on Hyde for some reason. Example Notation of a combo. 5C, 236A, 236A, 2C, j.[C], J.b (1 hit), J.a, 3C, 236A, 236A, 22C (whiff last hit), 236A, 236A, 236A.

Noko Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I've got problems with some of the Seth stuff: - B.teleport, j.214A B.teleport j.214A on block; how to stop this? Even if I've shielded the dive I was never able to stop Seth from teleporting again with 5A/2A. I even got CHed with 623A a few times, is j.214A that advantageuos on block? I tried 2C/5B, but if I were too fast, it didn't autocorrect and I got hit w/ j.214A, many times even if it did come out the right way, it traded in Seth's favor. I tried mashing B.reaper, but way too often got command grab out because of reversed inputs if Seth decided to not to switch sides. It's really hard to react if he's crossing up or not and adjust my inputs. I tried jumping away (with or without buttons) and it still wasn't reliable, because if I jumped the wrong way, Seth could've chased me during my landing frames and if I jumped right I still sometimes traded with him. What do if I don't have vorpal/100 meter? - 66C in neutral - I've played one particular Seth player, who used this move almost exclusively in the midscreen ground game - buffered into 623A seemed impossible to punish (Gord's too far for 2B to hit), he just stayed out of my 2B/3C range and threw that move freely because it usually stuffed my 5C/Mortal Slide, hell, it even won with Grim reaper clearly once. And with Seth's mobility it was really hard to get any game on, so what are my options? Go full yomi/yolo?

I have no idea what to do against that move, and Seth is fast as heck.
Noko Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 No, that grab has slow enough startup to just jump away from it everytime.
susano Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 No, that grab has slow enough startup to just jump away from it everytime. Well, now I know you jump away from it. I swear, this is like BB, where I didn't know you can super jump over Hakumen's one hit sword move until CS.
Sashi Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I think it's fine to just block against Seth. He isn't that scary that you need to establish control immediately. Wait until he tries setting an orb or when you have meter to make a play.
zDisapproval Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 was messing around in training mode and did a pretty good combo off of Ex GrimReaper 5k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLnyHpq5weU
susano Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Been having trouble doing MS consistently on pad. Pad warriors, how do you go about doing it?

So much easier to do than my regular Grimmu Reapah cs combo and only does like 200 less than it without VO. Nice!
SIne Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 5A > 5C > 5C > 236A > 236A > 2C > j.[C] > 3C > 236A > 236A > 236A I think you mean 5a >5b>5c
Orrax Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Been having trouble doing MS consistently on pad. Pad warriors, how do you go about doing it? I don't play pad in UNIEL, but I think the problem has more to do with the game's command interpreter than with playing pad or stick. If you hit the button even one frame before you finish the input (so it might look like ), the game won't read it. Also, if a diagonal is missing (so, ), again, the game won't read it. As always, having clean inputs is best, so make sure you're hitting the diagonal and not hitting the button too soon. For the second and third follow-ups, you can fudge it a little because the B follow up is the same as the A follow up. So, you can hit A and then immediately hit B, which should help against getting inputs, because you'll likely get , which will give the follow up. You can also just double tap A, but I find the other method easier. Double tapping A can work for getting the first hit to come out as well, so something like will still get MS. Also, I find that a lot of my dropped inputs in this game are from trying to do things to fast. Slowing my motions downs helps me be more consistent.

Yeah, I've been slowing down my inputs so its been helping somewhat. It makes me hiss when I drop that sexy MS combo with my hubby. .__.
Noko Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I don't know if it was known stuff and I'm not sure if it'll be useful, but anyways... On crouching opponent 2B5B(5AA) xx 22B if you Chain shift at the earliest possible point you put Gord in an interesting situation - he's airborne very low to the ground maintaining forward momentum and all jumpin attacks will hit crouching opponent and switch sides. If you don't press anything you also switch sides. This opens up some possible high/low/throw/reverse inputs mixups.
jo-p Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 What's the secret to stopping dash attack > 22b xinfinty?
Rikir Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 What's the secret to stopping dash attack > 22b xinfinty? 66B > 22A has a gap that a 5 frame normal can easily beat.
Justice7541 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 66B > 22A has a gap that a 5 frame normal can easily beat. Alternately, if you don't have a 5f normal you have to just wait until he goes for Assimilation (which will be gold) and tech it. You can also try shielding 66B and mashing out but he can Assimilation on reaction to the shield to counterthrow your mash (and it won't be gold if 66B is shielded) so it's still a 50/50 situation.
Sashi Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 It's 66C 22A, for the record, and it's just a guess. There's no sure way of beating it.

Go full yomi/yolo? j.214A is not + on block.. but he can cancel the move into other specials as you already know.. so you sort of have to respect it. If 623A isn't working that well.. you can do 623C instead if you're willing to burn the meter. If you aren't.. you're best bet is to try and force the Seth player to mix it up a bit. His options after teleport is j.214A, 2A+B (Force Fall), 4A+B (Airdash backwards) and j.214B. Grim Reapah should be blowing up these options pretty easily.. so im confused on why it's not working that well. 66C is a high... meaning you can crouch block and make it whiff (Correct me if im wrong on that). 623A with Seth is -4 on block (safe) unless you Shield Block it (Becomes -7). Then again, like you said Gord is too far for the punish anyways.
NeonLights23 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Gordeau mains be like: but seriously, two questions. why is girm reaper such a popular move? i find mortal slide to be alot more effective, and two, how da HELL do you beat waldstein/merkava as him? they're both so annoying....
