As long as you input 8 during Carl's recovery, you will be fine. 1st priority is spacing, Gotta get them between the bot. Once they guard the bot, mix-up with Carl. Profit! I prefer the ground loop when they are crouching. 8]D[ not coming out...Don't go to 5. Alrighty...ground loop (sandwich loop?). 2a ->5a -> 5B -> 5C -> 6D repeat. How many times does this tend to iterate? Also, 2A seems really...short ranged. Can you start the loop with something else (like a 6D) and then head into the loop? And the 2A HAS to happen in iterations or it drops, right?
Zoogstin Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 It doesn't matter how you start the combo, just as long as you're able to do it. If 6D for some reason hits first, then go into the loop. The loop usually lasts anywhere between 12-16 hits. The opponent is gradually put in less hit stun the more hits they take. This is the game's safe guard for preventing infinites. So eventually the loop will fail and you'll have to start over again. That's why its important to go for a reset by doing high low mixups. You'll drop the combo after several hits, hit them high or low hoping that'll they'll block the wrong way and then do the combo over again. There are several variations of the ground loop. The ones that I'm about to post goes from weakest to strongest damage: 2a - 5a - 5b -6b - 6D repeat 2a - 5a - 5b -5c - 6D- 66/236A ( dash or do Carl's vivace) repeat jC - 5b- 5c- 6D repeat (timing and spacing is strict but this is very practical) j.2C allecan - 5b - 5c - 6D repeat ( I would recommend only doing this on crouching opponents)

I'll add you to my friends list tonight when I get home from school. I'm still waiting to hear from Mascarpone so the date is tentative. Once I get everyone's GT we can try to work something out. If we simply can't all play together due to time zones or whatnot, we can split up into two groups and then have the winners battle it out. Like Kyle said, we aren't really going by win ratio here, tactics and overall strategy are what we are really looking for. Besides win ratio in a room full of Carls doesn't mean much when there won't be any to fight in the tournament.

So the list of nominees for the low level Carl spot in the 3x3 tournament is as follows: Akiro JamesWalton Mascarpone Prophet If you are on the list it would be helpful if you could post times that you are available this weekend (11/20-11/22). Mascarpone won't be available for all of next week so I feel like this weekend is an ideal time. Ideally I would like for you to be able to donate at least an hour of your time with this, however if extenuating circumstances arise, I understand. Keep in mind that the less time you spend in the room, the less we can judge you on. I was thinking that maybe after a few rounds of mirrors we could let in a random and all take a turn on him. This would give us more insight as to how each player handles various situations. I also thought of a few potential rules to abide by when choosing a nominee, I would appreciate feedback on these as I just though them up. Firstly, do not choose yourself.If you truly believe that you were the best, trust that the others will recognise this and choose the you. Two after one round of voting I would like to reveal the votes and have a discussion regarding them. Hopefully this way we can all agree on one winner even if they were not your first pick. And lastly you WILL have fun. This will be strictly enforced and is absolutely MANDATORY. Once again I look forward to your input (Kyle if you have anything to mention I would appreciate it) and our matches to come! (Sorry for the wall of text, it's probably a bit long winded and riddled with grammatical errors, but I don't feel like re-reading all that at the moment)
