YRC Rensen takes care of that. Here's a really good example of why f.S > 2S is good.

In the first blockstring, had the Sol decide to jump out at the end of f.S, you can gatling into 2S. If he keeps deciding to block, you do YRC Rensen and keep pressure going. They either have to block and take chip damage + RISC crank, or burn tension FDing.

It also makes the f.S canceled into his unblockable quite scary.

Man, he still doesn't think Slayer got what he needed? Nice to see he appreciates new Axl though.

The hell? Sol is the best character right now? Am I reading that right?

Ogawa always thought Sol's super strong. Now that everyone's toned down and moved below Sol (according to him) and Sol was more or less untouched, he left him in the top spot.

To add to this, considering the footage that we have gotten from Mikado, I'd say that Sol is the matchup Ogawa is weakest at (no disrespect to the man of course)

He says Sol is the 4th best character,  not the best.

i translated sharon's interview: https://twitter.com/GREATFERNMAN/status/602006014246793216

Thanks for your translation work.

I guess we should actually add Sharon's list to the thread here:

SHARON'S TIER LIST:

S: Sol, Millia, Zato, Axl, Faust, Sin, Elphelt, I-no

A: Ky, May, Chipp, Slayer, Bedman, Leo, Venom

B: Ram

C: Pot

I personally think Pot's underrated, but he does have some bad matchups that aren't helping place him higher.

He has a few awful matchups, a lot of bad matchups and like 3 good matchups. When all of the S tier either destroy him or at least have a good matchup then it is pretty safe to say C or maybe B.

If he got good rewards off heat knuckle/extend outside of the corner i'd be inclined to agree he's at least a solid B. He still only shines once he gets you cornered, and he doesn't really have reliable tools to get you there.

I mean, heat extend does its job (extra damage and a fuck ton of tension.) Real culprit is that useless #R heat knuckle. I am rather scared of what he would become if he got ac heat back (even if I think he could use/needs it.)

He really needs it. Not being able to score a knockdown in front of him outside of 2D restricts his ability to gain real good knockdowns off of abare & AA situations.

Either that or jc icpm confirms.

2S Vacuum YRC :gonk:

He just needs that knockdown to keep his momentum going. That used to be his gameplan but he lost the tools to do it.

If Pot got buffs, would anyone be able to beat Fab?

Idk. Hell we are talking about what Pot needs, and FAB is over in japan sitting on #2 throne in Fuck Mountain (19th Dan) :o :o :o

I think they were specifically trying to avoid having Pot able to loop his pressure with repeat knockdowns to emphasize his neutral.  Perhaps they are trying to work other things like damage to make up for that.

They nerfed it's meter gain in 1.1

Also doesn't pot now have jc icpm confirms, I know he can combo into icpm from regular air to airs now at least.

Not sure if he can get it from a regular ground to air hit, I suppose probably only on certain chs

From what I have seen it's definitely more consistent, although it can still be pretty finicky do to the Xrd 6P among other things, and it's just not as reliable as AC heat. Life is just hard for the big guy

I would say it is more consistent to do jc ICPM confirms, but honestly not by much. They need to be above and right next to Pot still, moves like f.S can hit them too far away to follow it up. ICPM sees most of its use in the corner where it is consistent, which defeats the entire purpose of the move. The same goes with Trishula which is used in corner 6k loop combos, and serves no good function outside of it. Both new Xrd Pot specials moves seem really lacking outside of specific combo use.

During FABs visit to germany, we asked him about his opinion of both Sharon's and Ogawa's tierlists. He didn't agree with them, so we asked him to do one by himself.

FAB's tierlist:

S+ : Zato, Millia
S: Elphelt, Faust, Axl
A: Sol, Ky, Chipp, Sin
B: I-No, May, Venom, Leo, Bedman, Slayer, Ram (left -> strongest, right -> weakest. only for B!)
C: Potemkin

I can understand it's a new game and they didn't want to release a beastly Pot from the get-go on potential new players, but sooner or later they're going to learn how to fight him. I guess they just released Pot bare bones just to see how he does, then will add buffs as they see fit, kinda like they're doing with Slayer right now.

I don't buy this, because IMO, Axl is fundamentally several times worse for new players to deal with - even at his worst. He got better in 1.4.

Why? I dunno.

He's also much harder than "churn and mash throw from halfscreen while everyone else is trying to learn basic gameplay mechanics", if that's your metric for "hard for new players to deal with."
