In this video, Goro does 2A > 214D > 2B (using 214D to fake the overhead and then go into the low). This would only be reasonably possible if 214D has pretty fast recovery. Man now I really want to see how this works after other normals like 5CC since 214D is a special. Hell you might even be able to use it like Tsubaki's charge cancels and straight up reset pressure if you opponent is slow to react. Another weird thing about that video is that 214D doesn't look like it even hits Amane. I thought the move was a strike now. Shouldn't it have caused Amane to show some type of blockstun?

That being said, Goro is ranked #3 overall, being one of two 17th dan players. Wrap your minds around this for a moment: the top 3 characters on arcade rankings at this exact moment are: 1) Jin 2) Litchi 3) Makoto While dan rankings aren't the best indicator of player skill, this is still hilarious. Goro might be mortal but he's kicking enough ass with "Bottom-Mid Makoto" (that's right, she's no longer bottom 1) to put her in third. Meanwhile, either Matsu is dead, quit, playing someone else or has changed his arcade tag to something I don't recognize. That doesn't matter though because this is the highest a squirrel has been on the rankings. #makotodabes #yourcharacteristrash

Ried Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 So, uhh, what exactly happened here anyway? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4gFFXDk4ws#t=2722 Cause how I'm interpreting it now is that Bang recovers way before Makoto from parry restand(basically the instant he touches the ground), mashes out 5B with the quickness, which gets guard-pointed by the last few frames of the catch animation, then, as soon as Makoto finally recovers, he does dash 2A to counter-hit the auto-guarded 5B, which is...a really weird exchange. I kept playing it back a bunch of times at normal speed and it kept looking like he was getting the block effect during his dash 2A as if it were lingering or something, but after looking at it again in super slo-mo(way to go new YT features), it just seems like the difference in recovery from parry is heavily skewed towards them? At least at that height, no idea how vertical the catch range is, maybe if you can get them from even higher it'd be less of a difference? I dunno. The way he dashed into it while he was stuck up there on the wall seemed like he was gonna get as good an advantage as he could from it, but that ended up being the result.

Interesting tidbits include the fact that he does not use training mode much as finding new combos or using setplay doesn't fit him and plays whenever he feels like it. He says that Tager and Hakumen are free because they are so slow which allows him to plan his approach. Tsubaki on the other hand gives him a hard time. His tier list is included as well: Makoto is solid mid-tier to him. Could he destroy Blazblue if he actually put in effort? I'd like to think so.

Like could it be used against projectiles now to give less blockstun than blocking the projectile normally would give? (Hopefully against Rachel becuase fuck her like srsly). And I also wonder how the guardpoint frames differ from the 6 "catch" frames we have now. It LOOKS to have a pretty quick recovery (which allows that restand oki), but that would be a big fat guess based on some match videos I've watched and nothing concrete at all.

I played a pocket Makoto back in the earlier installments of CP1.1 and now she's feeling better then ever. I can't make up my mind whether to sub her officially or make her a main, this will require some more lab work. loving how counter is now a reverse fireball instead of a 46 motion, really irritating when you time it right but your character walk backwards instead, that issue forever eliminated.

There's some theory fighting I want to you guys to make clear for me, it will immensely help instead of doing the character limit through Twitter. She was more of a pocket character in CP1.1 but now she's between the border of main or sub since BBCPEX release because the amount of potential she now holds.
