Yeah, I don't see this game running perfectly on PS3. It'll probably be like MvC3 where there's definite slowdown differences between versions even with compromise. It's probably the only reason I'm going to pick the PS4 version: there likely won't be any sacrifices made to graphical quality and it'll almost certainly run without slowdown. -

as someone who's fought against sol too many times in his life: this was so obnoxious to deal with lol does it happen at the exact same timing 100% of the time? they should make the hitbox bigger at least. i'm not really a fan of high risk/high reward moves with variable punishment situations (ex messiah, mitsuru r action etc). -

6K seems to be active as it moves forward so you probably can't yrc it for momentum, but it's not like using hammerfall would be any different. yrc seems really scary with pots mixup game because you can just use it to get n and do 50/50s. most other characters have reactable mixups (except if they can throw) off a random situation, pot is pure guesswork. -

those are just win percentages from the aracde. it's not really a tier list considering 80% of the people playing are gonna be sol/ky mashers and the other 20% know what they're doing and .01% of them are ogawa reminding average arcade goers of their humble mortality. -

Something funny I noticed: two of the characters with songs that had something straight up taken from another source (Potemkin and Venom), have new songs. if you're wondering what the songs in question are they're kashmir (the main riff for pot's theme) and breed to breathe by napalm death (straight 100% copied for venom's theme). I think chipp's theme is new too? don't know if suck a sage is from another source. i could be mishearing though. -

The games speed looks fine from this vid, hitstun and movement seem slightly slower but it otherwise is pretty fast. moves seem to animate at the exact same speeds w/o hitstop -

icpm seems good for doing and then yrcing to get in. having additional methods of approach is always good for a grappler, even if it's a scare tactic. -

I agree with that on the I-No match, she looks twice as slow (which is horrible imo... she should be super fast). The Ky vs May match looked a lot faster than that, but still slightly slower than the XX series. -

Exactly. There's often more nuance to counters (IB requires knowing the general timing and offers pretty low reward by itseelf), reversals offer high chance of beating anything but high chance of counter attack, and often don't lead to high amounts of damage, reactionary counters are often extremely specific so looking for instances to say 6P a certain move requires not being able to concentrate on other highly specialized counters etc. Blitz Shield seems to cover all of these bases strengths while not keeping all of the weaknesses at the same time. Basically it's catch all counterplay to a lot of options, which is the same problem I had with force breaks and certain FRCs... I love the idea of an easy input parry that can give people enough rope to hang themselves with, but always feel like they can escape any situation (this is why idiots LOVE 3rd strike parry, it creates the illusion of fairness while at the same time making high level play ungodly unfun), but I hate this particular execution of it. If it just had another drawback to it that made it so you had to have some sort of nuance to the choice of using it over a lot of other defensive options, but still "countering" a ton of situations, I'd be happy for it. It's why Burst is awesome, IMO. It gives you the feeling of not being hopeless, acts as a catchall countermeasure to a lot of BS (you always get 2 chances per round), while at the same time, having both nuance, counterplay that is character and situation specific, and doesn't just take over the game as a mechanic since it's only going to be used around once a round. Actually, that' a pretty fun random thought: make BS cost some burst meter too. -

If it has no startup (does it? I don't think it does) it's better than a reversal super and reversal RC (on hit) with lowered input time on reaction. I don't hate the option but I definitely see it subtracting choice. Obviously I'm being a dumblord on the internet nitpicking a mechanic we don't fully understand yet in an unreleased game so please keep in mind if I'm wrong that's good since I'm basing this opinion off incomplete information and out of like everything I've heard about Xrd this and Danger Time are the only questionable design choices I've seen. -
