I'm not. Playing Pot vs my local competitors is really challenging. I have Eddie, Axl that are not easy matchups for pot. Really hard and I like it. There're also Slayer and Jam but that's an even matchup. But I got back to Testa I just needed a little break from the guy I overplayed him with my local competitors and needed a break.

I have to disagree about that. 9S will lose most of the time since jS takes some time to be active and it increases your hitbox alot. So some air to air moves will beat it if you approach forward. The best thing about 7S is that you'll hit them with the tip of your scythe and that's why it works so well and because you're jumping backwards you're giving the jS more time to come out.
-
depends on the situation but 7S is pretty universal. Also if it whiffs, don't forget that if you did the jS high enough you'll have time to JC the whiffed jS and try another one / web / something else. Don't forget to HIT CONFIRM it to air Badlands. It takes some time to get used to it, but it's worth it.

Is it possible I couldn't do it because of I walk abit forward when I PB combos?
-
First one works, the second one I couldn't pull off

with pot it's harder to land that poke, well maybe not vs everyone but against most zoning chars he has hard time doing so. And pot doesn't reset after every mixup, only after a successful one.
-
sorry but winning all the time from one-poke-to-knockdown-to-easy-as-hell-and-effective-mixup-that-leads-to-another-mixup just wasn't that fun after over a year of playing:vbang: Pot is more fun IMO since you gotta utilize that one chance you get in battle and fight against all the zoning of some chars (testa, eddie etc) and once you do that - rape time.
-
change the last digit on the link to 10 instead of 11 for the SL v PO match.
-
BTW you guys, I switched to playing Pot Playing Testa felt too easy and I wasn't really enjoying to get those easy wins lololol. Potemkin was my main in slash and I abandoned him on AC coz I got frustrated with Pot V Eddie matchup but I don't mind it now XD
-
It shouldn't. You just don't time the net placement right / you don't have the time to put the net and not get bustered.

What combos do I have after PB FRC on Johnny?
-
search for matches of shounen vs FAB and CPO on youtube to get the idea for everything I guess. I'd post some matches of mine for a ref for you but I don't have matches of me v pot recorded.

You gotta utilize your pokes, it's not so hard to keep Pot away. It is consists of smart use of 6K, 6HS, air nets, some trees, S EXE Beast and HS EXE Beast when he's near you but not in buster range. IMO the most important tool to keep pot away is K-CURSE > AIR POT it nullifies his air game, abuse that shit. When he get cursed it's the time to make him fall and get hit by a crow attack you can usually follow to a combo easily due to his hitbox. Try to get as many knockdowns. But never stick a poke without a net on oki since he'll probably backdash buster or just buster if it's not meaty, same goes to an un-meaty net. always remember that if you end a combo with 2D follow-up with P-curse, since badlands will hit once and he'll tech and buster your ass. HS EXE beast after 2D is pretty pointless to me, doesn't worth the 25% since damage is low, it's better to save it for S EXE FRC for more pressure later on or HS EXE FRC as a defensive manuver. Master the Potemkin loop! string to (5HS, badlands) x 2-3 run-up net him and oki (you'll have enough time for that). There are more variations to the loop, play around that and find what you find most comfortable. It's important not to mess it up.

I bet you guys have seen this question for the million time by now but, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the usual venom loop of -> throw-> 6p 6hs vertical ball s x 2 i can't connect the vertical ball s I try to buffer asap, like I do on may's loops, and it simply doesn't work, I thought maybe I cancel to the special too late or too early and tried to mess with the timing and nothing worked. I tried to use vids as reference and that failed too. Any tips on how to do this combo?
-
This may sound abit silly. But for some reason i can see an FRC point for hos' 236P (when i'm in training watching the input) :S and can anyone explain to me please when when i buffer SJ forward (2369 for example) from 5HS i don't get a SJ with lots of momentum forward?
-
To be honest, if the opponent jumps and tries to hit nets the safest thing to do imo is jump back aerial slash. when the jS can cover the net ofcourse. 6K/6HS are so risky against some chars.
-
Thanks Caer, I'll try these combos when I'll have some time.
-
I need corner and midscreen combos that lands a knockdown on jam from -> 5s, 2d, forward exe beast FRC into ...

In addition to what pulsr said- This is matchup is all about getting and keeping your momentum since when has each side gets initiative it can destroy the other. From my experience, the best way to win this is by being patient and zone Eddie , use your nets and trees to limit his movement along with wise pokes usage. Remember that your zoning is way more superior than his. Once you nailed a hit into knockdown that's the moment to rush him down, and force your mixups, just watch out from reversals and stuff like that. When Eddie is in and gets his shadow [he will eventually] you can't really do much except blocking his mixups or dead angle at the right time. In addition, you need to minimize your mistakes since one mistake = Eddie knocks you down and unblockable[x1~3 depends on his meter and setup] and that's an easy 40~70% of your life right there. So don't overuse risky moves since Eddie can punish it hard. Pretty even match imo too, each has its own bullshit to destroy the other and can do it well once it gets the momentum.

1) Block. 2) If it's possible do a preemptive 6K but be aware of her flaming kick above it. 3) 5P if it's possible.
-
If it's a lightweight char IMO you should strive for the 6-7 loops in the combo. Damage is so awesome to pass on.

Everything is on GuardCrush forum-http://www.guardcrush.net/forums/index.php? and the wiki-http://guardcrush.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page (though it's really incomplete but there's some good info of some characters)

GD is also great as an anti command throws - CH GD = good dmg if you positioned well. and you can punish some stuff with tk GD like eddie's s drill.
-
heh thanks. yeah i just missed those FRCs with hs EXE. I still need to work on that. About the warrent-drills. sometimes he's putting me on some frame disadvantage that if I try to warrent it won't work or I'm abit far from the drill to warrent yet i'll get hit if I try it. That's why I IAD back. If you get hit by a drill it's a free knockdown - a bad situation for testi :S
