A Japanese tier list put Ragna on par with Bang and Litchi, and Tsubaki in B-tier. Clearly, Japanese tier lists top out at A. @Dialkia: Hazama's not A. He can zone pretty well and get decent damage (or great damage with heat), but his pressure is weak and he has limited options when on the defensive. Sure, Jayoku's a great reversal, but only if you IB or bait. Throw in his matchups, and he's solid B.

The OFFICIAL Guilty Gear Canon Plotline Q & A Thread
redsilversnake replied to Blade's topic in Zepp Museum
That occurs in both of his endings. In his bad end, "That Man" shows up and says that Sol actually isn't going to die (though the CG seems to indicate otherwise), whereas his other ending has him attack I-no afterwards before returning to the normal timeline. Time travel is kind of weird in GG, so I don't know why exactly Sol doesn't die, but I'd imagine it's probably that Order-Sol's death simply produced a different timeline rather than directly affect the one in the games. -
Since everyone noticed the lack of another thread to discuss tiers in (or at least where that discussion would make sense)? Plus, I'd imagine certain mods would rather it be limited to a somewhat related thread than a new one popping up every week or so.

S: Litchi, Bang A: Carl, Arakune, Hakumen, Ragna B: Jin, Taokaka, Hazama, Lambda, Mu, Makoto, Noel C: Tager, Tsubaki, Rachel Just my two cents. Also, I feel I should note that it's in order (i.e., Carl is the best in A-tier, Bang is below Litchi in S). Pretty much the only things I think would need tweaking would be Noel, Mu, and Makoto's placements. For Noel, it may just be my limited experience with her (both as and against), but I find it hard to determine whether she's bottom B or mid-to-high C. Mu has good traps and oki, but her melee is noticeably worse than a lot of the cast and I wouldn't put her zoning on par with Hazama or Lambda. Makoto can get good damage, but as Sophisticat said, her range is lackluster and her options for approach are severely limited; also, even if she does get in, her mix-up is gimmicky at best.

Concerning the combo 22D>6CC (SJC)>j.C (JC)>j.CC>j.214D>5C>2CC (SJC)>j.C>j.CC>j.236A>j.214C, is it at all possible to do starting with 5BB>5CC or does it only finish if you start with 22D?
-
I'd imagine it largely depends on what you want at the end of a combo. For life gain, 5D>623D is best. For okizeme, a jump-cancelled 3C is best. Though, as VR said, if you can, use 5D>22C. Not only does it give you great oki, but it does a guaranteed 400 extra damage.

I think ASW is only porting the game. I doubt they'll be the ones doing Story Mode. -
The Material Collection, I believe.

He's not. He was an NOL commander during the war.

Off a counter hit, you can do 6D~A>623D. Off a fatal counter, you can do 6D~A x2>623D or j.6D~D>2C>4D~D>#j.214B.
-
Dunno if everyone already knows this, but I figure I might as well post this just in case. Against Rachel, Taokaka, Tager, and (most likely) Hakumen, if you use 623D when you're in the corner, you can hit them up with 5C and buffer 236236B or just use 236236B by itself. Not only are both easier than 3C>236236B, but there's very little damage difference between them, maybe 100 or 200.

I know, right? When I played at my local arcade, I had to be strategic with 22D resets, but now they just sit there and take it. Ah well, till they learn that it's unblockable fully charged, free 2.8-3k damage.

I played a few matches in Ranked this morning and only had maybe a second of...something (the screen became darker and everything froze) in one match. Other than that, I've been able to pull off BnBs and Jayoku as easily as I do offline.

Ragna Critique and Self-Improvement Thread
redsilversnake replied to Bandit Revolver's topic in Ragna the Bloodedge
Well, for starters, never use j.D>j.214C unless you need to knock them higher for BE to connect. You should be doing j.C>j.214C instead. Also, after 6B>5C>6C (DC)>6A, I don't think BE will connect if you use j.D. Anyone's free to correct me, but I think you can only do j.C (JC)>j.C>j.214C. -
He means Install. I don't think there are many RC or DD combos with her. Not as much as Tsubaki or Ragna, but I'd say she qualifies somewhat. The thing is, though, aside from 2C being a decent anti-air, 5B is Tsubaki's only good normal, whereas Ragna has 5B (which is a good poke), 6A (great anti-air and combo tool, and is even useful in blockstrings), and 2C (FC move that has + frames on block). So you're right, Ragna doesn't have the pressure game that Tsubaki does; he has a significantly better one. Ragna and Bang use their Drives during their combos, though, whereas Tsubaki doesn't. It's not that people here dislike her Drive, it's that it leaves her at a massive disadvantage since she has a hard time getting charge.
-
Any of her follow-up normals can be done on whiff, so something like that is possible, but I don't know to what extent.

[CS1] Tsubaki Yayoi Video Compilation 2.0 - Now with more charging!

Going blind is one thing (anyone would freak out if they suddenly lose their sight, after all), but given how composed she usually seems, even in combat, the only time I can see her sounding like that in a fight would be against Ragna, since she blames him for her having to kill Jin and Noel. TBH, lag wouldn't really account for much, since it's usually unnoticeable (and when it's noticeable, you can stop early enough for whatever). Which is good, since getting charge is usually pretty hard on its own (I don't remember many times I landed a 22D combo when I played at the local arcade). The main problem is that most of the time, you can only get a significant amount of charge after a knockdown, meaning you have to sacrifice okizeme. Although, even with 2D, the slowest to charge, you can still get one stock by the time the opponent gets up, so I'd imagine it could be possible to IAD back rather than stay put and give the opponent free oki. -

Effort is good, but too much is as bad as too little. She makes Tsubaki sound like she's freaking out often, which seems out of character. Overall, I'd say Imai is leagues better. Pretty sure BnBs don't have rapid cancels. But yeah, there's quite a bit in that vid I can see being used in a real match. -

Even then, Sengoku Basara X and Battle Fantasia don't have their own sub-forums, so...Yeah, no sub-forum for AH3. Anyways, gettin' on dat hype train. Most likely gonna import it, but I wonder if it'll get localized. -

I think what he says would be more accurate as, "Damn it/Shit...My wounds aren't healing." Also, Ookami just seems to negate everything rather than anything specific. It even kills Arakune rather easily in his bad end in CT, when other Nox's, like Bolverk, just harmed him. -

The OFFICIAL Guilty Gear Canon Plotline Q & A Thread
redsilversnake replied to Blade's topic in Zepp Museum
They were supposed to have been disbanded when the presence of the Union of Nations made them unneeded, but they managed to preserve themselves and seem to have a certain goal. So they're not a scientific corporation (the experiments are just a means to an end and don't comprise a large part of their operation), but rather seem to be trying to become a shadow government for the entire world. They don't want Baiken or Bridget. Baiken is just noteworthy because she's Japanese and is searching for "That Man," whereas Bridget has a profile mostly because he's looking for Dizzy and comes from a wealthy family. No. Frederick, Aria, and "That Man" were three of the scientists who worked on the Gear Project, and were good friends with each other. Sol is confirmed to be Frederick and it's pretty obvious that Justice was Aria. It's all but outright stated that it was against their will (and I think is outright stated in the supplementary material). And yes, it is one of the reasons Sol is hunting "That Man." Apparently, Testament was supposed to be a Gear that would fight alongside humans rather than against them, but wasn't immune to Justice's commands. She did remember, she just didn't recognize Sol until after he beat her. I don't think that was ever explained. That's thought to be the case ("That Man" even heavily implies it in one of Axl's endings), but I remember something (probably one of the MCs) that said it's not true. -
