  1. Wouldn't Lieselotte be a better comparison, both in terms of gameplay (Carl's prowess is working in tandem with Nirvana, like Lieselotte with her own sister) and, to an extent, backstory (Carl's father put Ada's soul into Nirvana, Lieselotte's sister's soul is somehow in that doll)? Lilica is neither a loli (she's in the same middle school as most of the original cast) nor a vampire (she's half demon). And I know her father's pretty famous, but I've heard nothing on his bloodline. Anyways, does anyone know where I can find strategies, combos, and Arcana info (I don't know the effects for the Arcanas from 2 and 3)?
  2. Dude...you fucking rock. EDIT: The wallpapers didn't transfer. Or, if they did, they're not showing up.
  3. ...What you did there, I don't see it. I mean, I can pull off that combo, and I'm nowhere near high-level. I dunno if any of them'll show up this weekend, but I've seen at least four decent/good BB players. Hell, one of the Ragna players I fought last weekend seemed on par with pros I've seen videos of. *remembers early attempts at stick* I still suck at stick (can't consistently pull of 236236 or 214214 moves, for one thing, which sucks 'cause my CS sub is Hazama), but I'm definitely a lot better now that I've played on it more. So really, playing stick is pretty much like the games themselves: play more, practice more, and you'll get better.
  4. I dunno about high level, as that's Ragna's basic CS combo. Anyways, yay! A tournament I can finally attend!
  5. ...Did anyone else know that Black Onslaught can be comboed into from Berial Edge?
  6. Does he consistently get 20+ win streaks?
  7. *reads Wiki for Tatsunoko* They made Generator Gawl?! Fuck yeah! *checks character roster* Why is Gawl not in this game?!
  8. AC+ plays the exact same way as AC, so again, either one is fine if you're just looking to get good enough to play at an arcade.
  9. There are no gameplay differences between AC and AC+, as the latter is console-only. In addition to Kliff and Justice (the two characters you mentioned, who, yes, are banned from tournament play), however, it includes Mission Mode (which, from what I've read, was removed in AC), a revamped Survival Mode (in that you can power up your character every 20 stages), and a new Story Mode continuing straight from the previous XX games (for reference, the game's story wasn't continued after the original XX). If you're looking for the current standard and play fighting games by yourself more often than with friends, I'd recommend AC+. If you have friends willing to play it with you, either version is fine.
  10. Hey, you never know. That could turn out to be canon.
  11. I don't get any lag, but it'll freeze when it gets to the ASW logo a lot. There've been times I've had to reset the game more than ten times before it played the opening.
  12. I see. That's good to know. As for "the shorties", I can't get Ragna's 5D>anything to connect on them in CT, so I'd imagine you'd have to tweak combos in CS to land BE against them, probably by just using 6A in the event they dash in or RCing Keri Age.
  13. When you do a super jump cancel into j.C>j.D (JC)>j.C is probably when you'll most often find yourself using BE. 5B>5C>5D (2 hits) (DC)>6A (SJC)>j.C>j.D (JC)>j.C>214C>5D>214A/B>214D is just about the most basic BE combo you'll find. One for crouching opponents I saw Kaqn use a while back was 5B/6B>5C>6C (2 hits) (DC)>5D (2 hits) (DC)>6A (SJC)>j.C>j.D (JC)>j.C>214C>214A/B>214D. He's been skipping the 5D on this one lately, though, but I don't if it's because of overall damage or if it's character-specific. Just keep in mind that BE's hitbox is horizontal, and therefore won't reach above Ragna, so neither of those combos will work without a super jump cancel. You'll also want to omit a second j.D in the air, as that'll usually knock them above BE's hitbox.
  14. This. You pretty much have to do Keri Age (the GH follow-up) right before Ragna lands on the ground. The timing becomes easier as you practice it, though.
  15. Me neither. Some were advertised at the last convention I attended, but that never came about, so everyone just played casuals.
  16. Because tournaments are played on arcade cabs, not on consoles.
  17. The way I do it is with Extra Menu (which I believe you get after reaching a certain point in Survival Mode) in Training Mode. I set Easy FRC to 15, then memorise where to hit the buttons and how to time it. Once I get that down, I reduce it to either 10 or 5 and repeat it. Once I've got that down, I disable it and go by timing alone. Once that's done, I then practice it in matches.
  18. Guilty Gear: The Missing Link (PS1) Guilty Gear X: By Your Side (PS2) Guilty Gear X2: The Midnight Carnival #Reload (Xbox) Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus (PS2) I also have some pics from image search sites and some match vids I found from browsing YouTube, but I'm not sure if those count. >__>
  19. I noticed in a recent vid that a Lamda player tried to use Gravity Field (or whatever it's called, I can never remember) as a reversal. Is this a viable strategy (and if so, would it work in CT?) or something no one should try?
  20. Ah. I kind of figured that was what it was. Shame it only deals with the original XX, though. Then again, the basics should still be the same for #R and AC, so thanks for the link.
  21. I was at a local game store today, and noticed something behind the cashier. It had Guilty Gear in the name, so I asked if I could see it. In the end, though, all I could tell was that it was a DVD. I would've gotten it (it was only $4.95), but everything was in Japanese and I don't have a region-2 or region-free DVD player. So does anyone know what it is?
  22. I was watching some CS videos earlier and noticed a combo Kaqn used. 6B>5C>6C (2 hits) (DC)>5D (2 hits) (DC)>6A (HJC)>j.C>j.D (JC)>j.D>623D>236C>214D I tried to do it in training, but the dummy usually teched out before 6A, and even when I landed that, it always teched out before the first j.D. Am I doing something wrong or is the combo new to CS?
  23. I see. I almost always get a HJC on 6A and wind up using j.C>j.D on the second jump, though, so I pretty much never get both hits no matter which version I use. However, that could be for the same reason Belial Edge can be teched if you do that in CS. I'll go back to Training Mode and see.
  24. Yeah, I typically only land it right after the frames for a counter hit (such as after blocking Bang's 3C), so it is pretty rare that I get that combo in an actual match. Didn't know it had that many recovery frames, though. Like I said, while the extra damage is insanely minimal, I'd say the life drain is even less so, except maybe with BK active.
  25. BB:CS and AH3? I am so going there this weekend.
