  1. Just do step > 6b >csa when rushing people and you should start understanding how to land point blank CSa's and stuff. Its almost always better to step before doing the amekyan.
  2. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU ZUNDA WITH THE O. Of course you go in and capitalize on damage, but spending your partners whole first life just playing a safe ranged game is very VERY strong with a lot of suits. Once you have a significant amount of health preserved you can really go ham. If the O was lackluster as a 2.5k back he would definitely be rated far far lower.
  3. What is the deal with people discounting The O's ranged presence. There is absolutely nothing horrendously flawed with the suits ranged gameplay outside of really frantic matches where your partner cant handle himself because you cant br spam people away from him, which are already fairly dire matches as any suit. The br has great startup, ammo correction, and travel speed. Sub gives you plenty of time to hitconfirm a followup(you basically can tell when a shot is about to hit and shoot your 2nd br way late), and AC makes up for your lack of ammo quite well. 3s reload is not very bad either. There is just a lot of talk and even on the wiki there is the idea YOU GOTTA USE PRESSURE WELL BECAUSE YOUR RANGED GAME SUCKS. Maybe I just play against better players who try their hardest to bait it so I never relied on pressure but I only see it as a really strong trump card when I know someones going to commit to a melee or some other desperation move. The suit is hella maneuverable.
  4. Then I demand you explain that opinion because holy fuck. Like I love Turn X but I'm not happy it got buffed to S because that suit is for retards.
  5. Then you're really really uninformed about vanilla tallgeese or good tallgeese in general. You CANNOT escape awakened tallgeese. Once you get past misinputting super vernier the suit is not that complex. "I'm ok with sagat being strong because I haven't seen vanilla sagat" is the best comparison I can make.
  6. Wow Turn X already was showing up in a lot of vids because he's pretty popular. Now they buffed him quite significantly.
  7. Awakenings are probably the most rational comeback mechanic I've seen, and they were definitely not that way in vanilla full boost. Awakenings double as both a way to secure your advantage or swing momentum, at the cost of sacrificing a full burst or potentially sacrificing your capacity to close out the game reliably. Overdrive through process is basically "I reached overdrive, time to hit overdrive," and its far easier to secure damage with overdrive. The game boils down to who exploits their overdrive better like how vanilla basically boiled down to which 3k made better use of their awakenings to determine the whole game. I don't think kira is necessarily word of god, but he does echo most of what I hear from japanese players in a much more sloppy way. The game is doing mediocre because half the appeal was the neutral game. I'm just glad for once a community universally rejected the comeback mechanic which is something I doubt would happen stateside with an overhyped series. When it comes to rumor mill shit about suit balance I genuinely disagree with him though. Yes they put in a lot of cool and dumb ideas because they like X suit, yes their balance isn't perfect but having the overwhelming majority of suits being B and A tier is considered pretty good balance in any game. The amount of suits that are completely unplayable is really low. It's a generally accepted balance strategy to make newcomers strong because its easier to make strong tools then nerf them then it is to make a very basic, gimped suit and try to work his mechanics to be something worthwhile. Most suits that are very good either started out broken and got nerfed or were mediocre or average and got overbuffed. Zeong is probably the biggest outlier in terms of started out good and got REAALLY good, and now is just really good. Also suits that are or were really bad(think strike or cherudim) were great when they were first released and have a stigma within the dev team. It's also far easier for thousands of players to hammer out the basics of why a suit is good than a dev team with a limited number of playstyles to have as testers. A lot of people really take for granted how little they figured out on their own and how much they learn from other players, so it seems like its obvious why some suits are bad and some suits are brokenly op.
  8. He's definitely far more campy than unicorn. Also missiles fired out of angle in form 1 still have tracking. What the hell is that. Probably is better as a support since 2.5k's can front pretty damn well. Not to mention on overcost you can dump 2 missiles, then have an insane speed pressure for self-defense.
  9. I'm pretty sure the video goes over nerfs post-dogfight patch. Instead of Heavyarms being an A tier suit thats S tier in great hands, its now a B tier suit thats merely Low A/high B in good hands. Everyone agreed he probably wasn't the go-to suit to nerf to the ground after premium dogfight. A few quality of life nerfs might have been rational, but not crippling 8b AND csb charge(which cancels into 8b so thats important) I always wonder about this balance decision, comparatively easy suits like kshatryia and hamrabi stayed absurd and well represented. Then also Zeong stays top dog of 2k's. But the few heavyarms come out of the woodwork and BAM. It's a shame such a technical suit had to get the bat.
  10. I just wanted to point out that there are players like me who would come in completely green and even a simple concept like BDb can go over your head, and youd be inputting boost dash neutral melee. Even a note/link to a notation page would be fine if it explains that you must press 8 during the boost dash and that it doesnt need to be a forward boost. Handling that concept just for the independent players who don't have a shoulder to lean on to explain every minor detail is just something I wanted to make sure is achieved. I'm probably going to tweak The O's page in the future because I disagree with a lot of the content(mostly about his neutral game capacity) but I'm going to wait till I'm at least 4 stars so I don't have to correct myself later. It also seems to suggest YOLO hugs are a good thing which most of the time are not because 2.5k's generally want to conserve HP their first life with a 3k. Also +1 vote against using origination, that word is just plain silly.
  11. Can anyone at all give me a rundown on my general gameplan/gameflow is with this suit. I get way to caught up on how I am literally water and untouchable and never do anything to win the game. Then I watch better sazabis do crazy agressive gerobis and shotguns and I just don't get how to get into the mindset to approach with the suit.
  12. Can I be "that guy" and argue against BDb notation, I know its obvious to most of us to hold 8 during the input but when you're completely new it will save a tiny bit of pain. cc8b or BD8b is fine. But I know I used to be completely retarded reading combo notation and I know that would have confused me when I was practicing combos.
  13. Please do, for such a small game the community is very scattered. Anything at all to help that would be good.
  14. Only way I can deal with it is being above him when I feel it coming, and amekyan'ing to the ground.(as unicorn) But that's bad for all sorts of reasons when the player stops acting so predictable with csa. In any other situation its just a god tier landing punish though but any suggestions to try to mitigate the player trying to go for free damage with csa is welcome.
  15. Don't trust scamco with F2p, looks sluggish too. Lack of overdrive might make it better than maxi though. The real hook with EXVS is its the closer you get to an honest low entry barrier "fighting" game. They really need to clean up the visuals though, clear and easy to read visual information is something that EXVS does really really well.
  16. I figured as much which is why I'm finally sending some replays to brett. I still have some bad habits even I can call myself on but maybe I just need a reality check and focus on more fundamental problems I can probably work on first.
  17. Well the three biggest strengths of the G-defenser form are the mobility boost, 2 hit down main, and csB. So I've just focused on those, but her gerobi isn't awful either. Only time I've ever experimented with csa is when I was trying to close out a game with low hp so I couldnt jump in csb which probably isnt a good idea either. All I know is the ideal scenario with the suit is usually to agressively G-defenser at the start, to try and get 2 G-defensers in one life. Die, get your 3rd and try to close out the game.
  18. Two questions that I need answered about those buffs in the coming days when videos start coming out. 1. Does the 13 shots per volley mean he shoots 13 bullets in the time it took for him to shoot 10 or does it just last a hair longer? Becuase previously the individual bullets were spaced about as far away as cheap vulcan shots and it was very hard for the player to properly hit confirm.(compared to a very tight stream of bullets like x-divider where you stagger almost immediately after the first hit connects) 2. If question #1 is true is the down value adjustment to make it so the down value is roughly the same between the old 10 shot volley and the 13 shot volley? Don't know why they're being so cautious with GP01. His red lock range is still butt. He has some unique attacks but they always felt gimmicky to me.
  19. Will try to get a replay in this week. Classes > Gundam, even though college took a backseat for about a month and a half after launch.
  20. Should I be wary of boosthops when fronting? I feel like the majority of my front play issues result from me boost hopping at neutral. Obviously I use them when making space or covering distance for a punish/offensive push when its safe or if I'm fairly certain ill land the hit. Basically I'm very comfortable with boost hopping as back but as front I feel I'm using them too frequently. Should I focus on not needlessly ascending or focus on other movement options for creating space and varying landings like fuwafuwa.(I mostly play unicorn, and recently a little WZTV) I bring this up because WZTV players I watch use boost hops very sparingly and usually with very clear purpose. But i don't think that suit is very representative of how most suits play either because it has exceptional mobility. I'm probably going to try to get replays into brett this week too, its just tough to get a partner who will play against Ish/jdg/lastinnovater/etc with me to get some quality games.(of me losing)
  21. I still don't know what to do in G-Defenser form other than boost hop at people and csB them whenever its up.(works pretty well though)
  22. Vulcans were better than that terrible assist. Buffed assist + vulcans sounds like a preeeety good step in the right direction, the assist was a joke especially compared to how it was in next. I'm curious about what they did to GP01, it was kind of sad watching him in normal mode, it seemed like basically a straight nerf. At a glance his vernier form didn't look all that better either but.
  23. I best learned melee suits by not playing them. Now I'm an avid xenon fan.
  24. Why is level 2 2b sooooo good?
