So yeah, since I'll have to order Project Diva on Vita by myself (I was expecting to buy it from my friend), I might as well buy some water-flavored pizza. Too bad that I have no idea about who to play as other than Tama-nee. Can anyone tell me about the book girl? She looks nice, but Mizuumi doesn't have anything on her, and I can't watch Youtube right now.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle

Just don't tell the Prince about it, even changing all the names won't help against him -
Not to mention that he turned out to be a really cool guy. Like, my opinion on Azrael got better simply because of his BuruRaji antics.

Apparently, only Joseph can run (and only backwards), the rest of the cast can only dash, Hakumen & Co-style. This is amazing. Will probably be able to translate this stuff by tomorrow, though there isn't that much to translate other than the move names, and those take a lot of time because I'd like them to match the lines from the manga. -
It's currently one of my Vita wallpapers, but I can't find it on the Internet to save my life

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
SoWL replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Huh, those small character bios actually make more sense than any other Engrish that was seen in the game so far. Apparently, Merkava resembles Arakune even in his backstory, except that he's still sane. As for the song, Blood Drain is still the best. -
The fact that Tager's been dressed in maid and Platinum clothes doesn't really help, either.
-
It's at 11:45, to be exact.

Hey, awesome, there are official mini-combo movies for the new characters. Amane's probably impressed me the most, while Bullet could certainly be more flashy. And Azrael is damn ripped in that victory pose, reminds me of Kenshiro. At least I got a Bullet chibi in good quality.

Mori said that the whole story is going to be bigger than everything in the last two games combined.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle

I'll say that till I'm blue in the face: "Not a fighting game" is just a bad case of taking a line out of context. Though now it seems like they were just being really modest: they covered all the bases with the system, and it looks more like a proper fighting game than a Naruto variant. -

Sorry for the double-post, but the article is now up on Famitsu website, with lots and lots of system info and screens: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201209/13020986.html A not-so-short summary of the system: - Each character has a Style button that defines how he fights. This is different from the BB Drive in that many characters share similar Styles. For example, Jotaro's Style summons Star Platinum, while Joseph's makes him use the Ripple. Basically, it's the same old Stand button from the old JoJo, just with a more universal name. - The gauges are health (self-explanatory), guard (depletes while guarding attacks, causing guard crush when it's empty), and Heart Heat (the super gauge). Some characters also have unique gauges over the Heart Heat one: Joseph's makes his consecutive Ripple attacks stronger, like Akihiko's. - One stock of Heart Heat gauge can be used to perform a "Heart Heat Attack", while two can be used to perform a "Great Heat Attack". For example, Jotaro's HHA is "Oraoraoraora!", his signature flurry of punches, while his GHA is "You pissed me off", which turn the screen into a manga panel and freezes time before delivering even more punches. - You can perform a Stylish Move: the character strikes one of their poses and dodges the attack completely. It costs some Guard Gauge, but gives you a great chance to counter-attack. - Taunting the opponent depletes the enemy's Heart Heat gauge, and has some very flashy animations, especially after you win the round. - The game has chain combos with Weak, Medium and Strong attacks, but there is also the "Easy Beat" option. Just press the Weak attack button with proper timing, and you will perform a combo with a HHA at the end. - The game's RC mechanic is "Puttsun Cancel". By spending some of the Heart Heat gauge after performing a special move, you can freeze your opponent for a while, either giving you time to continue the combo or making your moves less punishable. - Tandem Attacks are still in for the characters who have the Stand style. It also still consumes some of the Heart Heat gauge. - There are stage gimmicks, though it doesn't specify whether you can turn them off or not. All the newcomers have the Stand style, even Mista. - Giorno's revealed moves are "Life... Arise..." (he grows a tree and climbs it, probably has unique follow-ups), "The sharp pains... They're hitting me slowly!.." (HHA, a slow-mo punch of Gold Experience) and "Never-Ending End" (GHA, Gold Experience is transformed into Gold Experience Requiem, gaining new abilities). - Mista got a gauge that shows the amount of bullets he has. His moves are "I'll shoot the hell out of you!" (obviously shoots bullets, zoning the enemy) and "Now I'm serious" (GHA, Mista shoots a bullet that gets redirected by Sex Pistols multiple times). - Kakyoin's moves are "How about this!" (Hierophant Green unravels into strings), "I shall punish you" (HHA, a combo with Hierophant Green) and "20m Radius Emerald Splash" (GHA, shoots many emeralds all over the screen). - Polnareff's moves are "Prepare to be skewered!" (many fast stabs with Silver Chariot), "Can't catch me when I take off the armor!" (HHA, removes Silver Chariot's armor, making it faster, but lowering defense) and "Gives you chills, doesn't it?" (GHA, a very fast attack with Silver Chariot's afterimages). -
I'm getting used to provoking long-winded discussions that are barely on-topic with a single post. But hey, this one's actually good and constructive, so I regret nothing. Personally, I believe that the game should have as much hand-holding as possible, as long as it stays the same game you play in Versus mode (so no power-ups and stuff like that). Especially since the BB scene is pretty barren (you American bros can't imagine how lucky you are: your BB playerbase is bigger than our SF one). Thus, it's important to keep the new players in the game for as long as possible, beyond the first game or even the story mode. The lack of shame after your first game against a human opponent would be very nice, too. tl;dr - better tutorial mode means more new players, which mean healthy playerbase.

Online training mode is a great idea, but I'd rather have a good, well-written tutorial along with a better AI. I'm reminded of this article, which explains many aspects of teaching new players the game and the good ways of doing so: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/200 Don't let the MtG premise scare you, it's more universal than you might think. EDIT: Then again, the article is more about recruiting new players than about teaching those who want to learn more about the game.

Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
SoWL replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
Check the main page, there should be a button with a number and a chibi-version of a character (it's Waldstein today). Speaking of which, what are they going to do on the last two days? The last day is probably going to feature everyone, but doing the same thing before that won't cut it. -

I think there is also some information about the system there, but the scan isn't too great to read it. I can make out "Stylish Move" and "Great Heat Attack". Kinda weird that they announced Mista before Buccellati, who is basically the main non-JoJo character of Vento Aureo. At least Polnareff and Kakyoin are safe; I hope the latter still has his awesome stances. And I'm still genuinely surprised that someone expected this to be something other than a fighting game. -
The same thing happened with the Persona OST, too.
-
My only wish for the new story mode is for the script writers to come up with some jokes that don't revolve about breasts, whatever their size is. Yes, even though Bullet is going to be introduced.
-
Sure feels bad to sit on a weak connection without being able to listen to all those themes, even if it's just small fragments.
-
What exactly is he unzipping, his tattoos?

I got a question about Overdrives and Bursts. The Mori interview mentions that the two are intended to counter each other, and I believe it implies that you can burst while the enemy is in Overdrive. Since the loketest reports say otherwise, can anyone check the translation of that part of the interview? It might've been a mistake on my part.

There are two Valk pictures, so one of them must be simple fan art. Which means that the other ones may be fan art, too. I wouldn't trust this just yet. Check the CP changes thread, apparently Bang just turns into his younger self.
-
I actually never expected Torakaka to have any gameplay impact at all, so this cameo pleases me greatly. Why would you think that? I actually kinda like the idea of Tao doing her strongest moves with someone's help.
-
Huh, I thought there's more where these ones are from, but apparently that Famitsu article only covers Tsubaki. I wonder why.

[P4A] Kanji Tatsumi Gameplay Discussion "Brofisting is in!"
SoWL replied to A.X.I.S.'s topic in Kanji Tatsumi
Hmm, seems like his Additional Cruel Attack doesn't connect that often. Is it some kind of a reset or just lag?
