But does the same scene imply Rachel's importance in the plot? Because she really isn't that important, let's be honest. There's a slight jump in logic between "Hazama talks to Rachel in weird black space" and "Hazama is the main villain behind everything", though I can see how people who are already acquainted with the plot might make it.

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
SoWL replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
It starts tomorrow (today by JP time) and will last for the rest of the week. EDIT: There wasn't that much info in that article, after all. Here are the main points: - The DP motion is absent from the movelists, since the devs don't want new players to have too much trouble with the inputs. All reversal attacks are delegated to Impact Skills. - There is some input lag, but instead of hurting the gameplay, it makes the characters feel speedy and nice (?). - Kirino's Potential is "When her life drops below 30%, her attack gets stronger by 20% for 20 seconds". - The three Support types are called "Attack-Support" (Leafa), "Defense-Support" (Touma) and "Extra-Support" (Vilhelmina, Kuroneko). - More and more character reveals are going to come very soon. - The game is made with wide audience in mind, including females and children. -

There's also a report of the Sunday event along with an interview with the devs, which I might translate later: http://www.4gamer.net/games/234/G023427/20131008001/ -

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
SoWL replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
I'd wait with the roster speculation until Dengeki says anything concrete about including more than one character from a single series. Or not including, for that matter. For now, I'm bracing for at least one more character from the revealed series, be it the other protagonist or a villain (the game needs villains, seriously), but that's just because I'm hopelessly optimistic (and want more playable Shana chars). The publishers of the original books don't watch the anime version of said books. Riiight. -

They're still too shy to show Haru's support attack, huh. KYH is described as having both great attack and reach, but sacrificing defense for that, which kinda makes me wonder about her differences from Shizuo. I mean, both of them are all about power, so I can't help but wonder how their playstyles are going to differ. The loketest can't come soon enough. -

More screenshots featuring KYH and Shizuo: http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/000/729/729834/ Also, the writer of DRRR and Baccano is going to write a short story as an introduction to the game's plot. Well, he's good at writing silly things, so at least they picked the right person for that. And since it might come up sooner or later, here's the comparison of how the Dengeki shows were selling in the past: http://www38.atwiki.jp/uri-archive/pages/31.html -

How do I turn on practice mode? It's in the demo video, but I couldn't find it in the game itself. The game doesn't look like anything special, though I like the character designs and their names (Dairokuten Mana? Sold!). The animation has its weird points (Mana's walking animation is unnaturally fast for her walking speed) and two of Mana's moves have overlapping inputs, so the game still got some room to grow better.

I think I've put myself in a corner with some of the player names in the video thread, and I realized that after I started to double-check them in Jourdal's video descriptions. Basically, they changed over time (be it because the players themselves changed them or because me and/or Jourdal have read them wrong originally), and now I'm not sure which names to write for their matches. One example of such player is Tenhou, who I've been writing down as Kawachi -Nagano- because that's what his player card says. And don't even get me started on M shi and other spelling-related issues... Now, on one hand, I want people to easily find all matches of a certain player in the video thread if they want to, but on the other hand, I'd like it to be as consistent with the rest of the sources (such as Jourdal's channel) as possible. I guess I'll try writing down multiple versions of such player's names and let Prototype decide on what to do with them when the time comes to put them in the OP. That sounds good to you guys?

I'm inclined to disagree with those who say that the anime is made only with the fans in mind. Mori has clearly stated that they intended the anime plot to be more cohesive than the games, which kinda makes sense: they don't have as much time to explain it, but it still must make sense. Now, whether they succeeded or not is hard to say after just one episode, but I don't have any problems with it so far. Proper pacing is very tricky when you have a huge game series and only 13 episodes to fit it in.
-
Speaking of the remixes, I wonder if the DLC codes are supposed to unlock them in the game.
-
3D? Bah, they don't have that kind of money to throw around! But seriously, at some points I'd have rather had CG than choppy animation.
-
Well I was watching the JP stream, I think the Funi simulcast airs later than that (no idea about the exact time).
-
Even Hazama has to cut his laughs short, did you expect Hakumen to take his sweet time with his speech? At least him taking the sword out of his sheath was kinda cool.
-
Okay, the first episode just ended. The animation was a bit on the cheap side (the OP recycles animation from the episode, some scenes cut corners in terms of animation), but the overall plot presentation felt adequate, while the OST had lots and lots of remixes from the game (there were at least 6 of them, I think). Nothing extraordinary so far, but they have more than enough time to do better.

They also announced the Mahouka anime, which is one of their most popular titles and has lots of overpowered character. Then again, they might put in characters from both series. -

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
SoWL replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Still can't figure out where most of those stages come from... Here are the character profiles from the website: ShanaAn all-rounder character that can handle many different situations with her fiery moves. By using such powerful, but simple moves as fast projectiles or a binding move with great reach, she can out-maneuver any opponent. AsunaA character that specializes on lightning-fast attacks. She has a speedy and flashy fighting style, while many of her special moves make it easy for her to approach even the most difficult targets. MisakaA balanced character that fights with quick electrical attacks. She fights comfortably both at close and long range: even her signature railgun can be used both up-close and from extremely long distances. KirinoAn energetic trickster that fights with various cosplay and quick moves. Her unpredictable and cheerful movements make it easy to rush the opponent down. She also cosplays some Sega characters, too. In the meantime, people discuss whether French Bread really is involved in this game: some people say that the characters don't feel like they were made by the same developer, though it's hardly a decisive evidence. One thing for sure: the game already has long combos. Asuna can do stuff like 2A 2B 5C 236C j.C (land) j.A j.B j.C DJC j.B j.C j.236S (land) 5B j.B j.C j.B j.C j.236C - and that's without a Support. -

Well, the possibility of having multiple playable characters from the same series is still on the table, especially with the villains, who have been missing so far. -

AFAIK, Shizuo and KYH are not playable yet, so people are just making assumptions based on that video seen in the article. And even Kirino is accused of being a grappler right now, simply because she seems to have a command grab. -

And the Accel World assist is Haruyuki, huh. They sure don't mind using the protags as assists here. Time to dig up the info on 2ch, I suppose. In the meantime, it's worth mentioning that the OP has some notes from Xie, go check those out! (Though it should Misaka, not Mikasa...) EDIT: Shana has a good, fast projectile and many other tools that make her similar to Ryu, Ken and the like. Asuna has lots of dashing attacks that come out pretty fast. Her rapier also makes for a good mid-ranged weapon (sounds like Mitsuru). Misaka has a lot of long-ranged moves, but since her electrical attacks don't last for too long, it seems pretty easy to approach her. Kirino can toss random items, like Faust or Teddie. Shizuo sounds like the local grappler, though people haven't mentioned anything specific on him. Seems like KYH can summon her Brain Burst avatar as a Stand? In any case, she fights in her KYH outfit, not her Black Lotus suit. Vilhelmina appears behind you in mid-air and hits the opponent with multiple ribbons, binding them in place. Obviously can be followed up with a combo. Leafa appears behind you and rushes forward with a whirlwind dash. Has great reach and comes out almost immediately. Touma blocks the enemy's attack with his hand, which seems to deflect the enemy projectiles and reduce the damage that's dealt to you? Kuroneko appears right before you and performs an uppercut with some special effects. Can be followed up. -

Oh boy, playable males! Hooray! They also say that they've already confirmed a console port, though the exact dates and the platform is yet to be decided. And there is going to be a loketest with all six characters revealed so far from October 11th to 13th, so brace for more footage and feedback! EDIT: Ninja'd and all that jazz.
