watching jp players like kaqn and tetsu go at it like that makes me realise how much longer l have to go before l can take even a round from them.

its fun to speculate. plat is one of those characters who will look top if played right and garbage otherwise.

the game may not be out yet for the us, but l feel like rachel of all people need a headstart info-wise when the game drops. in the next few days ill be watching many of the rachel vids and posting any new things that we didnt catch - combo, oki, and pressure wise - and putting it here, though this is only a combo thread... i've also been testing my own stuff out so i'll be sure to update as l go. l dont want to get spammy so i'll put it all in one post, or as little as l can.

l wouldn't put ragna at 6-4. yeah he outranges her but a good plat can close the gap easily. mami beats his hf, most if not all his normals (all the important ones). she has really good tools on him an so does he, that matchup imo is VERY close to even. imo her worst matchup will indeed be haku (he really outdoes her midrange...), carl (no bat/meter=gg, but she can rtsd for days so idk) litchi (idk, litchi's a bit on the slow side. plat may outprioritize her staff normals and staffless litchi has to be almost point blank, which plat likes), arakune (he has a field day setting up in her face), and possibly jin. maybe valkenhayn. but l dont see any of these being more than 6-4 except haku and ara. shes just too solid to have any 6-4 or worse matchups imo. (right now)

not even. as good a dp as it is, it was -really- good due to the risk/reward of it. nowadays its not netting him 4k or hardly even 2k outside the corner. lts because ragna outranges her with 5b and 5c, has good pressure and can stay on her, while she has 2 situational dp's and has to be point blank to go into a mixup/ better pressure range. ln all honesty ragna can play keepaway against her by simply hovering around his sweet spot (5b range) and mix her up from there. not to say plat cant own him with his low life, so this match is pretty close to even. should be fun.

true, unless you play a character that is well known by someone/people. like, say, litchi. you get shit wrong, lk will probably test it and tell you. idk what the deal is here, l THOUGHT since l hear people say dacidbro was gdlk he'd know (or share, im not hating ) the matchup bits. but idk who the really gdlk bangs are and how deep they will analyze these sorts of things. we have that sorta in the rachel thread (its the mu matchup shits im heated about) regardless, im prooobably the only rach in NY... or anywhere... so if NY even plays bb again ill have a few bangs to fight maybeeeeee

ill help out with rachel strats if bang players still exist in NY after im fucking done with him. (not you dai ) in return, a little bang v rach advice would be good (if people even play rachel )

eh regardless of the break which sounds pretty good l still dont want to play mu like l cant even look at her on th char select screen without feeling like tearing up l just failed and l want to leave it like that. its ok, maybe ill get around to liking other chars too. l took a slight interest in bang today (I KNOW thats a phase!!!!), cs2 lambda is gdlk like l just want to start over from the beginning from level 1 with all 3 of my pac-lives :P

lolol you dont get it. its not "I cant beat anyone!!!" its a personal thing. no matter who l play with her, l feel extremely uncomfortable and inadequate. l FORCED myself to learn mu, in other words. and my senseless dignity forced me into a state of denial when l realised it just wasnt working out. luna you dont get it either. l can play omni, go toe to toe with him, and even win sometimes. but today, and the past few days, weeks, months, i've been super free. it could be online but l dont care, im tired of putting in hours on such an obsolete character. its not just because l lost to him. this feeling has been pent up for the past month, and today, l realised that l am allowed to give up every once in awhile...

nah im done, l actually had it up to here with mu. of all the chars l ever played, including rachel, mu was the one l practiced the most with. l pulled all nighters, real talk. l studied frame data, l tried every cheap trick l could with her and at the end of the day she demands more. im using dp in footsies, to me thats a little desperate. my pride has not allowed me to see through the delusion i've created: l am not good with mu. and now, l accept this. l will simply never get her, and l dont care.

first round and who do l get knocked out by? omni. LOL l cant even run from her. 2a catches everything. l had to mash my 2a before she even got close (which worked a bit). l had to resort to crappy rtsd. and my gut instinct was saying "just use litchi... just use litchi..." sigh, l doubt that would have made a difference. there just HAS to be a way to beat her, l KNOW it. mu just cant have no options. its a shame l wasnt good enough to come up with a solution mid-match... and my mind is still failing me... l failed... l fail...

liberal as in MASH IT. l mean, my zoning game has gotten so much better. we always knew her dp was fully inv and that it was meant for something besides ib. it nulls projectiles and f1 inv, plus she gets no reward from it; I myself thought using dp to zone was good but l was scared (dat psr pride ._.) but l mean, coupled with almost any d, not only is it good to use but its SAFE (consistantly, but unreliably) to throw out even if baited. you have to know when to do it, but yeah her dp has gained alot more of my respect (I feel like l know mu a little more.) im fitting it into the matchup stuffs im writing. btw it beats ALL of noels options besides 4d (so), j.4d (._.), and supers (can be telegraphed). :P

4 wind regen combos, gdlk mixup again, can do midscreen with good oki... im hyped. lt seems like right now everyone is trying to find a corner-to-corner combo for each char, as well as a combo that gets the opponent in the corner youre in (which was hard for rach to do before). hers seems a bit impractical, but she still has 6cd l suppose.

let him use nails? hmm... yea, nails hurt mu alot (236a so useless -_-). lk told me that a good strat is to jump and get hit by them. huh, bang w/o nails is so much easier for another reason too, it eliminates an approach method so l only have to worry about his aerial movement and 5b. l can even start using 5c, lol. zone her like tager? makoto's incredibility fast and so is her 2a.... l dont think im going to do that ever lol :P j.2c beats her 3c and 2a (her most important pokes vs mu imo) and that 3 way dash thing (though unsafe if blocked l think thats great coverage and the risk/reward is in mu's favor). besides that i've been using sod. l cant get steins rolling because the threat of 2a = 6k really haunts me. so l just have to be lame then. thanks neo :D

^been doing that lately. dp is really really really really really really good when zoning. like it's lame and all but who cares it gets steins up. i've wrote down a few matchup thingies about this. against jins swords l 5d dp and it works wonders, l dp litchis staff fling (fullscreen!!!) for more setup time... dp really should be used liberally. <_> l need some last minute assistance from you guys. vs bang and vs makoto. lm going to be in the rev. tourney today and its full of bangs and omni's mak. l plan on winning so l want to make sure all my odds and ends are straight. l know vs bang, aa's arent too hot, but max range j.c hurts him, and so does 2d, 4d and j.steins. but midrange 5b wrecks my face. and vs mak 2a is what im looking for 90% of the time, so a spaced j.2c beats her face. do you guys have any goodies on these two to share?
