l played him once or twice like two days ago. shortly before cp we also had an ft10 (which l posted in the rachel forum). since we're both cse vets not much changed yet except combos. also toan, yes the lotus are the bats. pretty neat, now rachel can actually zone against a murakumo - nu in particular. you started getting around them but l think l have a way or two to counter that now.
-
ggs toan. that matchup feels alot more tolerable now, l dont need to stop blocking until l get a read now. and lotus. just need an actual strategy now. also to x4j for the carl matches and lord revan for jin

Where in the gallery? I don't see the option for extra colors. Are there specific requirement to get them, or do you just have to buy them with p$? If the latter exactly where are they please. -
Anyone playing? The awe of arcades has worn of and now it's starting to get annoying looking for stable connections. Please inv me or tell me on psn so I can inv. I may not check back so that's why I'm asking. First two people who ask I'll make a room and play. Also if there is a psn chat please inv me to it

Ugh. Whoever's STUPID idea it was to make gekiren possible only with 623 needs to get punched. This damn move is needlessly difficult to link. Thinking about forgetting he has the move honestly unless it gets patched. Rant over, that felt good... Seriously though. Shit's hard.
-
Hard? She seems alright to me. Her combos are about as difficult as they were in previous games for different reasons. The game speed though... That is hard
-
wondered if it was just me not knowing my way to ec rooms or what lol. this makes sense, l didnt find one stable connection today which sucks.

Input the dash around the time you're just about to land. If I remember correctly bb still has the 5 frame input buffer so use it to your advantage.

Nah the phase thing was just an example, not a guideline for others. For you first point, I understand and agree mostly, but let me clarify a little on what I meant. Let's say the player likes doing ...5b 236a jb to get in. In the structure it would tell him that this string can get him in point blank easily but loses to anti airs pretty easily. So if he wanted to do it constantly he could so long as he knew what he'd possibly lose to. Eventually, the opponent figures this stuff out and anti airs or the player gets a hunch. One way of stuffing this would be to use 5b 2c, which simultaneously beats jumps and acts as a frame trap. It would cover the players first string like so. Then the foe may think its time to dp or whatever, and the player can get out using 224a jc. So it wouldn't necessarily be a right or wrong thing, more of a "do this to beat this". Very much like your pressure guide which already has most of this info. There is just a lot to make sense of l guess you could say. You're right though, perhaps everyone can keep reading it and overtime it will stick, that's how I learned rachel after all so it definitely works.

despite there being a few flaws l think bacon is on to something. of course, not pressure wise bc we all already see what he can do and we have a big ol' pressure guide. l mean in structuring what to do and what you should do next. to elaborate, l like to think of his pressure in the form of phases. phase 1 would be ...5b 236a jb. get in, attempt to get a hit. if not, ...5b 3c 236dd dash in for phase 2. basically anytime he can be in point blank would count as a different phase. the way bacon structured his own blockstrings has me thinking about whether it would help to have blockstrings setup like this. as someone who thrives on extended pressure, knowing what exactly beats what just looking at the structure could help everyone. tl;dr: a tl;dr version of the pressure guide, or more ideas like this.

Mmhmm, I saw it once myself, inflicted it once before. People get annoyed at zoning, but I think her rushdown is much worse. Only barrier and counter assault work, one being unreliable and both being baited.
-
ggs again to everyone. didnt realize just how good barrel lotus would be, it's the perfect supplement to rachel zoning. it can make walls against rushdown, clashes with stupid angled projectiles, can defend her while shes blocking... the list goes on. even if someone tries to turtle... l hope theyre content with blocking, because now they dont have a choice for the next 12 seconds. and dont knock me down in the corner, l just might wakeup wind tech and end up midscreen. lotus da best

did more testing with b lotus. homing wind depends on both rachel and foe's position. example, pressing 5d on the ground will give you homing 5d which is just stronger wind. using 5d on your jump will give you a homing 3dish wind. superjump height will get you a sharper 3d wind, explained later. didnt test both players in the air yet among others. it homes the moment you press the button, nothing more, making it a little unreliable as the opponent can move out of the way while all winded projectiles travel among the designated wind. of all ground/air lobelias, only 236a seems to be worth using with 5d. thats ok because its already a very strong strat. however, at closer range l found something very interesting. because of the closer distance, air b and c lobelias w/5d almost hom directly in on the foe! l was able to escape the corner a few times using this. with lotus b equipped, superjump, launch the lobelia and 5d. even with the foe under me, l was able to hit with it, shifting the momentum.

The dash is to keep you in point blank so the rest of the combo works. Also, I made a mistake and put the d near 6a instead of 5b. The combo is 5bd 6a. And it does launch.
-
How are his pokes? The ones that are long range seem to end pressure fast. I've been sort of zoning with them at midrange with moderate success, only failing to hit confirm any ch so I still lost a lot. The pokes I've been using are jd which is fast and huge, lots of ch; 5d, would 2d at max range because I didn't know what to do after, sometimes it worked; 2c, which didn't work out too much; and 6c with heat. I don't know his gatlings or how to continue pressure just yet from longer hits so I'll have to watch a video or two for reference.

jc is the attack. so yes you're jump cancelling 5b, doing jc, 2d, and landing to finish the combo.
-
yeah

ggs to the many people l played today.
-
gonna play this char seriously as paradoxical as that sounds. was just reading some earlier post looking for blockstring, thank you guys for the tips.

is there a chat?

been practicing all day and can answer these. @corner lobelia loop: input 2d immediately after j236a, land and 5b. there seems to be landing recovery on j236a, keep that in mind. alternative is 3d instead of 2d. slight delay between j236a and 3d. @5d; it appears to have several new properties to separate it finally from 6d. its more of a 'trigger', giving 6a launch properties, homing wind during b lotus. perhaps other stuff. @combo routes not entirely sure, but the second combo may be more character specific. thats about all, dmg/wind/corner carry should be similar. ill check @2a punish: 2a 5b jc2d dash 5b 6a 236a dash 3c (214c dash 5cc) loving this char. got alot down l think, just need to get used to the game.
-
l can agree somewhat to this. lt would be better if l knew exactly who he was playing but l suppose it doesn't really make a difference now.

...it's day 2. 3 now depending on how you look at it. this game is different enough to require several hours if not days, weeks max even for experienced players. even taking several hours in a row to train over a span of 48 hours AND be good with your character AND know this game's matchups is impractical. with merely 2 days experience, im finding it hard to believe that any console player is above average in this game right now.
-
perhaps it just seems that way because of the thorough trashing that you are taking. logically, pretty much everyone who just got the console game, expert player or not has to start the same inexperienced way. so the reasons why anyone would be losing right now is fairly linear. tl;dr practice. more
