There's no such thing as a script to play Ragna, you just need to feel how far and safe your moves/strings are and read your opponent's behavior and tendencies. That's the problem with Ragna, you can't do much if your opponent is very good at blocking and teching... Ragna's play relies on punishing mistakes and poor defense. VR Raiden made an awesome job explaining how to punish almost every single situation on each match-up, superb.

Depends. Insta-Barrier can really push you off a standard string, like 5B 2B 3C. Even if 3C hits at max range, you won't be able to 22C. 3C is somewhat predicable, like 6A except that 3C 2D is possible, and that sucks if you're playing against Tager let's say. Not to mention that you're giving up pressure Yes, 5B 3C 22C RC combos are gdlk but won't happen often.

Online matches..ugh. I hate when I airtech and immediately something afterwards hits me because of the whiffed j.A or whenever move comes out when trying to mash to tech. That made me wonder... How effective auto-tech traps would be... Happens sometimes, although not on purpose seemingly, on japanese matches. It is possible to create specific combos to force this. 5D works quite well for that I think, when auto-tech occurs during the first hit and the second is on their face. -

22C dash j.A An exclamation mark will appear if you do it right. I remember practicing it this way, not sure if it's 100% right though.

These come naturally as you get better in the game imo. We could make a topic about Ragna's option selects and gimmicks as this is the sort of thing that even an advanced player wouldn't know easily. How and why to use them? Brief explanations are the best, since most beginners hate to read anyway. This thread is excellent for beginners, and any player, to learn mixups, the core of Ragna's gameplay. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?8423-A-primer-on-mixups Burst safe moves? Well, I'd rather to see them learning combos, blocking, pressuring and spacing first. This is even advanced for us... not to mention kinda hard to pull off in the real thing. But yeah, we should compile everthing like a combo thread.

Alright, finally managed to pull this off: Rachel only FC 2C 5C 2D 5B 5C 5D(1) 214D dash 6B 5C 2C 5D(1) ,whiff 22C, 22C dash 5A 5C 6C (DC) 6B 6D j.214C dash 6B 2C 5D 214A brief delay 214D 623D(1)~Wallbound 5D 22C Damage:6864 Heat Gain:85 Notes: -22C dash 5A on Rachel is really odd. Usual "dash 5A" won't work due to the lack of momentum, and consequently, distance required for 5A. The way to make it work is inputting dash during 22C recovery and then, throw out a delayed 5A. -Tsuika delay must be very brief. Too soon it whiffs, too late it won't hit properly.

I have yet to see a good Ragna that spends heat with BK instead of RC. It's hella useful, but it's a tool that only and above decent-level players know how to use, and consequently, how to combo with it properly off any situation. A "beginner" guide on it would just increase and encourage recklessness imo. That's not always true though. Oh, yes, this thread is kinda empty, more BK combos would be welcome.

That's like saying that Daring Gygas could be a Persona. It's not clear what Personas actually are. They coud be either a representation of someone's Psyche or real Demons/Gods. Just because Yu can summon Izanagi does it means that him ,the *Real* Izanagi, exists only to serve him? Or is he just the best Deity to represent his Swag personality? Can Izanami be someone's Persona?
