  1. Tier lists represent nothing more than a probability. Between 2 skilled (equally skill is too vague) players, the high tier character player has a higher probability of winning than his opponent who uses a low tier. The significance of this can be great. However, does this guarantee the match? Nope because a high probability isn't truly a guarantee (a 100%). Unless I happen to be some sick SNK boss where their odds are like 98% on most of the cast and that's why they're banned. The emphasis is on probability. Picking a high tier and using that character augments your chances of winning that match but it doesn't mean the weaker character can't outright kill you if you don't play your cards right. Over a series of games between 2 skilled players, a trend is possible where you do see the stronger character winning more. However, in tournaments where it's only a couple of matches, anything can happen and moreso in a well made fighting game and what happens in a tournament setting usually matters more. So tierlists might be cast in stone on bare stats on paper but how the player takes the character in the match is a more important factor. You will feel the levels of strengths between characters (insane abare, deadly oki, clearly better pokes etc) but doesn't mean it's unbeatable unless it's some overly broken SNK boss that isn't supposed to be used for VS play except for giggles. So inorder to clear it all, yes tiers do exist BUT they don't outright determine the outcome of that particular match. Yes matchups do favour characters here and there but they can still lose. That doesn't mean the loser of the stronger player is the worse player but for that match he/she has been outgamed. GGAC there's more leeway for weaker characters winning matches which is a good thing and how the player takes on the match is still the more important factor.
  2. That leads to the question do Japanese players take some due breaks from their main games just to freshen up? Especially now things should be cooling down with the exception of the new stuff coming up in a few months time.
  3. Kane spill the beans. You already took down LM Akira in the last Ranbat.
  4. Nah you're doing it abit late. That's all. Just be faster with the inputs. 2H FRC over and over requires some mashing innit mang.
  5. OT:- Hey LM how goes BOD since NE is closed for the weekend. Did sinity managed to get a win off jwong? Also how's the GG setups. Long queue like in SVB? Managed to get a few games off the Londoners?
  6. Look who made this game and think of another demographic.
  7. Are you gonna have a go at Blazblue during Evo? Heard there's a loketest in Chariot on the 26th/27th.
  8. You, stop watching Godfrey Ho flicks please.
  9. Hey Elven do arcades in Japan close in December especially quite near the Christmas break?
  10. Right this thread can serve as a Q&A in this matchup. One of his major annoying features especially for Millia is his PK wakeup which makes him safer to disc mixups. Right after some discussion the ways to get around it as in prevent it or ensure he doesn't get back up too safely can be the following. gatling knockdown <roll> otg 2K set disc especially useful in the corner where he cant tech safely anymore but midscreen he still can. Obviously a delayed disc is good but there is a degree that RKy can telegraph to that and just choose not to get up. Secret Garden is good since the start up is long enough that the bubble should be on top of RK by the time he's done and is getting up so you can 5050mixup him more safely. Any other takers?
  11. Dude you missed the fucking blue disc of doom.
  12. Despite not being Tekkaman Blade. http://www.neo-arcadia.com/wellcook/images/Tatsunoko/tatsucaptekkamanzr3.jpg YES YES
  13. Elven I dunno if axel told you about this. Some other Singaporeans are in Japan as well. They go by the names of Remus and Farp (there might be more), have you met them yet? Their main games are Virtua Fighter 5 and Calibur 3 AE, incase you're wondering. Remus does play a share of GG as well.
  14. Hope Blade and Evil makes it at least.
  15. With me having to play some Dizzy we will get some good experience so that the EU Dizzies won't be eating most of the UK players from random things like bubbles. If you see the GChariot matches this is what we have to go through though. I will eventually get back to Millia but who knows she could be better. If you have a good grasp in your overall basic play in GG, Millia won't take long to pick up outside of learning her combos and her various oki tricks.
  16. Good luck team. Axel, I really hope with Elvenshadow and stunedge, you'll qualify this time. It'll be even better some of Singapore's crew like Airconman or maybe jae can follow you as well for the experience.
  17. Throw breaking in this game feels more like a throw clash really. It's like it happens most when I want to throw someone and purple shit flies out. You cant throw break during 'counter' throws though.
  18. Hey will you be giving Sengoku Basara X a go in a few days?
  19. FB puffball or puffballs basically loses to low stance moves. So won't Gunblaze, especially level 2 and 3, beable to outright beat out that move? Same for Ryujin. Hopefully OS is low throughout the animation, since 2D isn't long ranged enough to make it feasible and it has less frames where he's low so it's a greater risk to use that to stop the puffball.
  20. In the Dizzy forums under gameplay guide for Dizzy. Right so I should stick to the vids then.
  21. Anyone got any HH, Kazuki and Miyako Dizzy vids against the following characters? Zappa May Slayer (especially him) Jam (especially her as well) Eddie
  22. Are airthrows ideally the best way to stop iads instead of your character's best anti air normal like a 6P? Can something like a Slayer blockstring to iad jH get airthrown at the right range? I was asking that question since I saw this in the Dizzy guide. 5H - Standing Hardslash (40 dmg). Can no longer be combod into 2D (changed from GGXX:Slash). Very good damage, and Dizzy's longest-range normal. A level 4 attack, which means it can stuff out many of an opponent's pokes. Can even sometimes be used as anti air if the opponent is not directly above you, since even if their attack hits you, you often times score a counter hit on them, causing them to be unable to tech for a while, leading into a free combo.
  23. How does a level of a move contribute to it's ability to stuff the opponent's move or special? I read some character guides and they emphasized on how a level 4 or 5 poke is very useful especially for stuffing. I thought it's a matter of whether the start up of that certain normal will take less start frames or invincibility frames allow it to stuff.
  24. Man Konoha looks funner to play as. The silly air command grab for a combo ender is awesome, it gives such a nice knockdown to allow oki followups. Oh not to mention that her air command grab super is made of real win.
  25. Excellent, the girl needs more SNK love.
