Apparently, all the color packs and announcers are available in BBCS2. The problem is you have to purchase it and put it on your card thing. They just purposefully chose the absolute worst announcer as the default. Also, since Saturday I've watched all of Shikibane Hime. I liked it. -

If everyone's up for it, we could still have a meetup. I'm just not sure who will still be here who goes to Tech, besides myself and John. -
Need help understanding basic fighting game fundamentals

2D is not a good way to get in, stop using it as such. Tager either waits for the opponent, or you can super jump>J.C to get in (make sure to barrier guard), or you can sledge through projectiles. Next, stop mashing 360, and learn to do actual tick setups into 360 like you did when you landed the first 360 in that video. If purple exclamation points are coming up, you're doing it wrong. Stop mashing when you're getting up too. You're at a very large disadvantage when you get up, as your opponent has had time to setup things up, or do a meaty attack. If your opponent is doing it right, you'll get beat out just about every time as Tager really doesn't have a good reversal. Just block, or if you feel your opponent isn't prepared to punish it, roll out. Every button you press should have reason and thought behind it. I just saw generic PSN/XBL Tager there. -

Tsubaki's charge speed scares me now. I'm very happy with the new NOL girl tier. -

I like how we had 20+ viewers after we took the stream offline tonight. Funny shit. Also, I feel like I'm super rubbish at Blazblue again. Must be because I played online earlier this week =P -

I can't make it to Augusta Super. I have two finals on Monday that I've barely studied for so far. I'm definitely available for Winter Clash if someone will give me a ride as always. Also, Atlanta Revival is January 15th. A nice way to top off the first week of classes next semester. http://shoryuken.com/f7/atlanta-revival-reawakening-january-15th-2011-atlanta-ga-259100/ And on a final note, since it is dead week at Tech, there is always a chance that the classrooms will be taken over by students studying. We might have to find another place, although there's some event thing tomorrow that should pull people away from studying around the time we meet up. -
I'm really liking Viper so far. She's got that weird air dive, a focus attack, and her EX Thunder Knuckle goes through projectiles. She has real OTG combos too, instead of the garbage 1 hit into super OTGs some of the character trailers have been showing. Storm looks faithful to Marvel 2, except you probably won't be able to followup with a DHC after thunderstorm anymore, as a friend pointed out that the opponent is launched upwards now, and the other character was able to tech before hitting the ground in one of the videos. Well, you could DHC to a fullscreen attack, but there doesn't seen to be too many of those.

I believe we're having the regular meet this week, in addition to Gamefest on Saturday. Usually there are more sticks than setups, so there's no worries there. -
Applying fighting game fundamentals to BB and other airdashers
TheGreatReptar replied to Arvoyea's topic in Archive
You'll get a lot better a lot faster at spacing and mind games if you play some Super Turbo, as that's just about all that game is. You're just isolating a component of fighting games when you play different ones. There's a lot more going on in Blazblue in terms of system mechanics so it can be harder to focus on individual aspects. -

I'm going to try to be as prepared as possible in case they get mad at me for having an entry fee (mostly, I'll just be prepared to give everyone their money back I guess). The worst thing that I can will happen is that we end up having another Friday gathering on Saturday with free food, and maybe with some people who we don't normally see wanting to play. -

Hmm...Lucky for me, I have to stay on campus until the 19th so I can move to my dorm for next semester. I'll just have to find a ride I suppose. -

Ok, I originally got a really vague answer, but from my understanding, they don't care. They just said Gamefest won't help fund the tournament or help with any prizes, which is already taken care of by the 1$ entry. Also, Buzzcards aren't checked, so non-students can show up. Just remember, if you want to play in a PC tournament, you'll have to get one of us to log you into the school's internet. I'm going to use an online bracket generator, so if you want to use my laptop for streaming if you make it Paul, it will be available if you bring your netbook so I can use that to keep track of the bracket and people. -

So, Georgia Tech is hosting Gamefest this weekend, so in addition to the usual Friday meet, I'm going to be attending it as well, and I'm going to try hosting a side tournament for Blazblue and maybe Super 4. I've emailed the Gamefest people to make sure it's alright to host it, so I'll keep everyone posted on that. Tentative event: GT Gamefest Blazblue and Super 4 tournaments: Where: Georgia Tech Klaus building (where we meet up every Friday) When: December 4th at 6pm is when Gamefest begins. I'll probably leave tournament registration open until 8pm. Tournament starting at 8:30ish. Door fee: none, unless you want to enter other Gamefest tournaments, in which case it's 5$ for entrance to all Gamefest tournaments. Tournament fee: 1$. This is for high rollers only. Other tournaments here: http://www.gtgamefest.com/events.php I would imagine everyone who isn't a student will have problems playing in PC game tournaments... Once again, this is tentative until I hear back that A) I can host a tournament and B) Non-Tech students can attend. Just posting here already to see who would be up for this. -

Paul, you should undo whatever voodoo magic you did to keep the stream on the front page of SRK. It's still listed for today =P Also, I'm never going home without my stick again. I'm terribly bored. -

Gran Turismo confirmed for Evo 2011 -
Ooo, everyone's talking about what Tsubaki needs to be not bad. I have ideas. Obvious crap: extend normal ranges, probably replace 6B because it sucks so much, make her 6A not useless. One of Tsubaki's worst problems is getting charge. My proposed idea to fix this, is to give her a way to control space via a projectile that doesn't take charge. If j.236A/B/C were all given projectile followups, each with a slightly differing arc, she'd be able to control space a little bit to safely gain charge. That way, she doesn't have to get up close before netting charge (she should however, get a bit of an increase in charge speed regardless). Also, j.214D should be an overhead. Sure, she'll have a rather fast overhead that she'll be able to do off of an jump cancelable normal, but she'll only be able to combo off of it either with a second charge stock, or in the corner.
