Nice to see videos from France! I'd love to check out the VS DOJO some day, I'll try to look around for some cheap flights if my uni.masterclass-schedule ever allows me to travel abroad. It seems like combo-practise/research is needed also in the arcade-version Love you guys! Especially Mitsurugi!!! You are the man!!! Keep on posting videos please

I don't have that much time right now, so I'll be pretty brief. Well, we could go with US AC, I just kind of got the impression that US AC+ was preferred over US AC. JP AC+ will not be used for reasons already discussed. Honestly, the differences between most characters in console-version are very small. I know that Johnny might have some timing-differences, but we cannot cater to everybodys needs. We're going to use the same version of the game on all of the consoles to be fair. And SBO-quals, we will do everything to get the arcade-version. We pretty much now only need the game and it's hardware, that we can get either from a guy in Sweden or maybe from France. It is currently being discussed. But if we can't get the setup running on Friday, it will be run on PS2, the same version that is going to be used at the event. End of discussion. -
European SBO'10 qualifiers - at Stunfest

After discussing between Showdown-crew, Madjid (SBO-crew), Organizers of Stunfest & consulting the European GuiltyGear-community Showdown 5 in Stockholm has been chosen to be the epic battlegrounds for the European Tougeki-qualifiers for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core 3vs3. I will post detailed information about the situation on Sunday, together with the Schedule and rule-sets for all tournaments for Showdown 5 in Stockholm, but for now know that the arena for the qualifiers have been officially chosen. The qualifiers will be on Saturday though, thats for certain. We cannot yet promise that the qualifiers will be on arcade-version, but it will be on back2back-setups in any case. We're doing our best to ensure the arcade-version is going to be used, I'll get back to you when it comes to the details on Sunday. Get Hype Ladies & Gentlemen! And bring your A-game, 'cause both Heaven & Hell will Rock! -
European SBO'10 qualifiers - at Stunfest

Nice Is that from Stockholm? Cause that's pretty far from Lund But still, it's cheaper than flying from Copenhagen (which is by far the closest airport). Ryanair doesn't seem to go from Copenhagen. And neither do we have any idea how the train works etc. It would be nice with some info about how to buy tickets, if the qualifiers are to be held at Stunfest. Are they or aren't they? Official announcement is thnx, since we have been given mixed signals in this thread... Info is appreciated. -

It costs about 500-600Euro to go to Rennes now... (mostly because tougeki-"announcement" is so late tickets are so expensive, I wouldn't go if there wasn't going to be tougeki-quals & we got mixed impressions that we would maybe get the quals to Showdown so..) Add 100-200Euro you could go to Japan and back-_-... + The russians have already payed alot of money and worked alot for visas for Showdown. One can pretty much say that the three nations interessted in qualifying seems to be FRA, SWE & RUS (maybe FIN, but since Lazze doesn't seem to get a team together... I wouldn't count FIN out yet though). ..... Altough we can't promise that we can get the arcade-version, we can do our outmost best to try to get it. There is only one month left to the event so that's why I can't promise anything, arcades & arcadesoftware doesn't grow on trees. (we can promise back-to-back tv's though, lol) But if anybody wants to be able to go to any qualifier it would help out alot if a definite decision was made by the people responsible before this weekend is over. I think pretty much everything that has been needed to be said has been said. The ball is now in your court! It's up to you to decide what kind of qualifier you want. Let's try to make the best out of the situation, and that is a clear answer. /David -

I agree. But I really do want a well thought out and properly explained decision soon, so people that want to go can at least plan a little. Or maybe the decision already has been made? Kyle: Thank you -

First of all I don't really mind the quals being at Stunfest per se. The thing that makes me the most sad is to see the lack of information spread out to the European-community. Even though we in the Showdown-organization-team had communication with the "French-commité", we weren't even informed about the fact that the quals went to Stunfest. We at Showdown never made any promises about that we would have quals, only that we would do our best to get them since we honestly believe that Showdown is the most GG-oriented event here in Europe. GG, a game that has been dying since BB & SF4 came out. Now being just one month left until the event this isn't something we really can guarantee. I can't really give any comments about last years Showdown-qualifier but it was supposed to be on Arcade via SuperGun to TV's, but it seemed to have failed (alot of stuff seemed to have failed in my absense...). So I understand certain French-players comments on the boards etc. and I respect that. If the community wants the quals to be at Showdown it sounds like a great idea to me. All I can say is that we can't really quarantee a arcade-setup at this point of time. Maybe if we had gotten the information a bit more in advance, maybe. But now at the situation where we're at, I can't make any promises. But we can try, if the community wants us to. I'll chill for a while though, and see what this discussion leads to. - I am very happy to see the Russian-community taking a stand for what they believe in! I am impressed with you guys and your community! I'm really busy recently so I have neither had the time or energy to take the "fight" myself so it feels great that somebody started a discussion. Really looking forward to seeing you guys at Showdown, and I hope you'll be a bit more in the mood for talking & chilling than what I heard about you guys last year - 3 or 4 French teams already decided to go to Tougeki like every year. Oh you mean like last year when one french team entered the qualifier? Or the year before that when France had the qualifier and just one team entered? I know that you only mean well Camo, and I don't really like the anti-France-style that some people are going for 'cause I know that most of you guys are great people, but facts are facts and should be kept correct and true. - I hope nobody was offended or anything. I love all of you so!!! Now I'm going to sleep and then go back to studying from 9:00 to 20:00 -

abare in it's original japanse-sense is mostly used for, to put it simply, "to mash a fast attack". Slayer has great abare due to his fast 2p with great damagepotential (with 2p 5k dot) and quick recovery. Abare isn't always reckless within the fighting-game sense since wellplaced abare can stuff alot of mixups etc. but here on dustloop it seems to have a completely different meaning though, mostly the one easymodenob posted, due to somebody started with a wannabefailtranslation probably which spread across the internet... So if you read anything about abare here on dustloop, they most likely either have no idea what they are talking about, or using the originally-failed-translated-version-but-now-a-kind-of-coined-expression. now that's all for this days history-lesson. stay tuned for more tales of interest.

There will be 16-teams for all Category B games (16 players for Basara).

So sorry for the late answer! I completely missed out on this thread! Ronove: You can sleep at the venue during the event (friday & saturday) and if you need a place to stay on sunday there are hostels for around 200SEK (20EUR) We are currently discussing CS & CT. The question is if we can get enough setups for CS, and if it even is practically doable to hold a tournament for it. We'll get back with info ASAP.
