  1. Bang's 6C whiffing on crouch. Can not describe how ridiculously infuriating that is. The general OPness of Valk and Mu. Hakumen's j.2C having zero hit stun even on counter. The delay between holding block, accidentally letting go, and pressing it again only to get hit anyways. Air Unblockables should be abolished. Not only is it lame to have your block magically not work, but it's wildly inconsistent from attack to attack.
  2. Grabs. I feel like between cross ups and mix ups and blocking and overheads and all the other crazy stuff going on in fighting games, they really don't give you enough time to react to grabs. It's especially infuriating when people take advantage of it during netplay and do pretty much nothing but grabs.
  3. On a side note, these things are awful to shop for. The return policy at every gaming store makes them a prohibitively expensive investment, and there's no try before you buy opportunity, so the risk is even greater that you'll get something you don't like.
  4. I've actually come to the conclusion that the particular arcade stick I bought is highly over rated and just not the right one for me. The corners on the stick are too deep and is ruining everything. It's that, or the hardware makes the corner inputs slower than normal.
  5. That part I get. What I need is some frankenstein set up where I can get the tactile feel of the dpad, with the full hand buttons.
  6. Bursts and Rapid Cancels both use the same command. Tie them to a shoulder button like R1 and it's right there.
  7. I don't know if you've ever opened up an xbox controller for modding or anything, but the dpad on them has this 4 sided pyramid like shape on the bottom. That grinds into the circuit board over time and eventually digs deep enough to gouge out some filaments. It's a really really bad design flaw.
  8. Nah, I was dead serious. These things feel absolutely terrible to use to me, and I can't wrap my head around why anyone would think this is better. Also, arcades are a horrible waste of money, you'll never see me in them spending my own money. So that's one thing I won't have to worry about. Perhaps, but from first impressions, I can tell I'll learn to play guitar before I can do anything useful with this arcade stick. To be entirely honest, I've never had any trouble getting attack inputs in fast enough. It's the half-circles and DD motions that I wanted to be more consistent. I don't think the hitbox controller would be much better, but it was something new to discover.
  9. By far the most disappointing and awkward experiences I've ever had with a controller of any kind. I'd rather try to use a move controller for my inputs. Even after investing several hours into heavily modding the controller into something I thought might work for me with time, I was sad to find out that it was still a complete failure. I'm most disappointed since the entire FGC raves like these things are the be all, end all to fighting game controllers. I really am having a hard time imagining how in the world any of you all use one of these things.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAp9sFVdERQ I'd say block until you can jump out, although even that doesn't work too great because her overheads are fast and the blockstun (and my slow reaction time) means changing blocks is too slow. I try to jump out as much as I can to open space and hope for them to throw the staff out and use the time while it's behind you to try and get close on her.
  11. I just hope it's more intuitive than w5B>jD>j5B>etc. seems to be. I can do it fine if it's just that simple part in training mode, but I just don't seem to have the control to get that fraction of a second delay it takes to get Valk to transform instead of doing w.j5B when trying to do it in a full combo. It kind of kills me that I have to give up the extra dmg and a cool combo ender because they decided to make it so strict.
  12. So is w5B>jD>j5B>etc. no longer the thing in CP?
  13. Went and bought a new controller, and now certain things are coming out much more reliably. I guess there was something wrong with the old controller after so many hours in training mode. I appreciate the great explanations, I'll be sure to keep it all in mind!
  14. That's what I thought which is why I was trying it, but I'm almost always getting hit before I even get to start it. Maybe I'm just pressing too many buttons. I'd try Hotaru, but I'm usually getting hit before I even have time to leave the ground for a TK.
  15. Does Hakumen have any options on recovery besides having to survive the next block string? I've tried a few things like 6D on tech, but it doesn't seem to come out quickly enough. What should I be doing/looking for after I've been combo'd and I'm trying to get back up and recover I guess is what I'm asking.
  16. Yes, and thanks for the info!
  17. You covered it all great, thanks! I wasn't able to understand what was stopping Amane players from spamming the heck out of all the drill attacks just from watching videos. Probably should have thought to check the wiki too. Thanks again!
  18. Can you explain to me how his meter system works exactly? How is it generated and how is it spent? etc. etc.
  19. Quick question here concerning CP Valk. It looks like he gets a couple of more transformation opportunities, has that made his general combo usage a little easier to input? Or are the transitions still pretty strict with timing and awkward inputs?
  20. I think most of my trouble is simply a lack of experience with this match up since there never seem to be that many Arakune players, but here goes. What's generally the best way to keep pressure on him once you're in range? I'd typically get in, then he'd block and the push back would end up leaving me out and he'd jump away and teleport and terrorize me all over. I was also having a lot of trouble after being cursed. A lot of the times while facing the same player, he'd come in and do a basic curse combo and fill his meter, leaving me to decide to tech or roll, and I'd tech, but even when buffering a block, I was getting hit by his big multihit bug that comes up from the ground or whatever. Should I be rolling or delaying my tech instead? Lastly I guess is, if he has me in a curse combo and he's doing his fun 9k+ dmg combos, is there a specific tactic to use to stop that nonsense? One thing that came to mind that I didn't get to try was, if I've been cursed and he's whipping me around, is it best to wait till he's done like, 3.5-4k dmg and then burst out? I was thinking that'd leave him with a portion of his curse meter spent, and I'd hopefully be able to block long enough for it to run out.
  21. I kind of realized later that my questions with the blob have more to do with vs Arakune in general than anything specific to facing him as Hakumen.
  22. How do I fight Arakune?
  23. Almost as good as getting an Astral off to me. Wasn't sure where to stick this, so feel free to move it if there's a better place for it.
  24. Ah, so these aren't new properties. I still think the command for it sucks. Guess I got excited for nothing. Thanks!
  25. So is there something new with his Astral Finish? I've never once used it anywhere outside of training mode, so I don't know if this is new or not. He clearly switches sides on Hazama, but I'm not sure if it teleports like his drive moves, or it homes in like his new DD. http://youtu.be/-_BJWO_TelQ?t=2m16s Anyone know?
