The new meter gain makes mix up play or oki a lot easier, since you're not waiting half a round anymore. No more guard primers is also great for Hakumen, as you can earn a lot of meter just surviving block strings too.

Well, for the characters that you can do 3C CH > 2B > Gurren on, you can use this on them. Max range is just slightly short of mid screen. 3C CH > 2B > Gurren > Hop Hotaru > IAD > j.C > 5C > 3C You can do 2C and stick an agito in there if you feel like blowing another star, but it didn't seem too efficient.

2B > Gurren whiffs on Azrael. That's the only one I'm sure about. It was working for Hakumen, Ragna, Bang, and Izayoi.

That's good to hear. Hopefully I can find some good matches. Was a little worried we'd have to wait to the US release to get good connections.

Maybe some of you all can answer this for me, as I've only really gotten to try one match online and there don't seem to be too many US rooms up. The host was from NY, had a +2 connection, and the input lag was awful. Not sure if because the person I actually faced(didn't face the host) was from EU maybe, or the game is only running on Sony Japan's servers or something. Have you all been able to do online matches with out significant input lag?

It's that or play a significantly less efficient Hakumen. I'll try out some real matches and see how it feels if I can find a room with out such horrible input lag ><.

Well, I hope you all enjoy Hakumen. This carry loop really ruins it for me. I don't find it to be a particularly intuitive or fun combo to do. It wouldn't really bother much if it weren't for the fact it seems to be the only option for decent low meter combos. Time to reroll and vainly hope they patch it out and replace it with something better.

What do you mean you can't combo off CH 3C? CH 3C > 5C > Renka(1) > etc. CH 3C > 2C > etc. CH 3C > Kishuu > Enma all works for me. Am I missing something?

You can air dash after hotaku even after double jumping? I just did j.2A > dj.2A > Hotaru > air dash > etc. You can also do another jump as well.

The new float on Hotaru is kind of nice. It makes those follow up air dashes pretty easy. You can do some pretty good stuff with it. Wallstick Grab Follow Up 2C Hotaru Stuff

I keep running into a situation where I'm coming down, usually after teching, and I'll go for j.B and I can see it start, but I land before it comes out. Maybe I just need to hit the button sooner as I tech in the air.

Can any of you all confirm if Hakumen's j.5C comes out faster in CP? It certainly looks like it in the vids, but if it's true, that'd be a nice quality of life change for me haha. Also does his j.B still have a minimum height in CP?

I'm doing a lot better today. I think the core of my problems was that my gameplay was too stationary. Now that I'm adding in double jumps and more instant air dashes, I'm seeing a lot more success. Hakumen's general lack of priority seemed to exasperate that issue for me. Now if I could just quit choking on those overheads...

Sorry about the whining, it's just my frustrations bleeding out to where it doesn't need to be. I think I've discovered what my problem has been. I've been staying in place too much, making it easier for my opponents to time and space their attacks. Realizing I need to stay mobile to make it harder for them seems to be making quite a difference.

Well, there's the god character everyone else got. And then there's the POS I got apparently. I don't understand why the same stuff that works for everyone else doesn't work for me, especially considering the amount of time I've invested in this character. There's some inexplicable force that makes it so that every time I press a button, Hakumen whiffs or gets counter hit/grabbed. It's damn near magical how much BS I've seen happen with this character.
