Noel player was just not good. If the drive spams and flubbed hitconfirms didn't tip you off, then the random Hitconfirm > Purple grab whiff should have.

I was there, didn't see Koopa though. I hung out with Miller and DaviKaze though. Davi's wife was cosplaying as Mitsuru, she did a good job man. Oh I won a copy of Fire Emblem Awakening for winning the BB tournament, I was happy about that shit. I also got a bunch of shit from the Dealer Room for a change, it's so fucking nice to NOT be broke at a con, looking forward to youmacon already. Also, just an FYI, UFGT is all but confirmed for me, it would take some horrible luck for me to not make it this time.

Frame trapping should still be possible by late canceling her moves into other moves. I mean, we could do it with 5A before, and it was -1. 5A > Slight Delay > 5A. As long as they didn't change the cancel window, it should still be possible with a move like 2A, or even 5A still as long as we cancel the move before recovery. Despite my optimism though, I'm still really salty about her A's lol.

I was a bit disappointed how they nerfed her normals, but buffed her drives, but hell it's whatever. Like I said before, the fact that hitstop has been reduced is gonna make these moves still useful to stagger, plus remember that 5A still gatlings into itself. The frame advantage wasn't what made those moves good to mindfuck opponents, it just made it easier. We will have to be a bit more on our toes, but it's still gonna be scary when Noel is throwing buttons at point blank.

The combo thread was a comprehensive list of all of the optimal BnBs off of every starter. So basically, it shows you what combos to do when you hit someone with something, just look at the moves you wanna learn how to combo off of, and then look at what the thread tells you is possible. After you look at the wiki of course, since that lists like, the basic of the basic hitconfirms.

I miss fighting Mac. Axis picked Hakumen against me yesterday, and I remembered how fun that matchup is, now if only Axis actually knew how to play Hakumen.

As far as I can tell if Noel would have followed up her 6D with ANY other drive she would have gotten destroyed, but since she used d.4D, she beat Enma. Noel's 6D did indeed trigger Hakumen's 2D, but as PsychoMantis said, d.4D's invuln beat out Enma.

How is that safer? Because of 5D's invuln(lol)? I doubt it, all of those are equally shitty. But if you're just flat out punishing with CH 5C, then that's a different story.

When taking notes, it's better to ignore how those types play overall, and instead focus on what they did in certain situations that worked, or maybe what combo routes/finishers they used if they are on the ball in that field. Most of the "Random Mashy Noel" players are doing it for a reason, and I usually see it happen at neutral where Noel has to rely on her movement speed to get shit done. Though it's not the way I like, you can still learn something from those types of players.

See all that stuff is great info, who wouldn't wanna know stuff like that? A few things I already noticed due to videos (Like the second hit of d.5B, and most Noels using 5C > 3C instead of 2C > 3C for example), but I'm curious, in what situation would you use 2D > d.5A in a block string? Are we talking about throwing it out at neutral? Or have you found a way to actually use that move during pressure? Because the thing LOOKS like it would travel way too far to be useful in that kind of situation.
