  1. This match should be like evenish probably Hakumen's favor ever so slightly. I don't know what you guys are doing to let him cut your stuff, but as far as I can tell as long as you use the right D patterns you can make his life a living hell. You have to watch out for when he starts turtling though, at that point start stacking those 6Ds on his face to make him move and threaten him with explosions. Don't forget Mu has an overhead so he has to be dedicated to countering on wake up or you get a fatty CH 6B combo. This match isn't all that difficult honestly. Turtle Hakumen is pretty annoying to break, but she totally has the tools to make him stop turtling.
  2. I'm pretty sure Mu wins this match. Not only does she have to worry about the godly range of Mu's j.C, but Mu just out performs her in too many ranges to make it really fair for Lambda. Lambda has to constantly move forward in this match while Mu can simply move forward or move back and be in an advantage. As far as I can tell the only thing you have to really out for in this match is her tackle and her high damage.
  3. Mu doesn't really have to worry about guard points because of how awesome 5b 2b x n is.
  4. stein explosions setups? wouldn't that be just playing her neutral game and exploding them? cross up protection negates that pretty hard btw.
  5. FYI a lot of these 5D 6D Stein setups lose horribly to delayed get up roll forward. Highly do not recommend using them. I was tempted to use them too, and while it is pretty sexy on block, the risk just isn't worth it. I say just do a 3C, 6D, 236D. If they delay tech forward they eat roll into the laser and I believe you can combo off of it too. if they neutral tech they have to block the laser and I think back tech still gets clipped as well. Oh, I ultimately decided to do XX, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C, 5D, 663B, Whiff, Cross-up 5B, 3C 2B, 5C, 6C, Delayed 214D, 966 (Get low to the ground) J.C, J.2C, Land 3C. While it is cool that you could go for another cross up, If they take the OTG they'll tech out immediately. I guess you could play it by ear, but the 3C ender is a nice clean solution. If you want the most damage off of the Cross-up setup (that still results in the 6C ender), 5B, 3C 2B, 5C, 6C, Do a really delayed 214D, 6B, 6A, 6C, 5D. It is like 3200-3300 If you want to style, 5B, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C, Early as possible 214D, 5D, 5C, 6C, Delayed 214D, 6C 5D. (Yes, yes you just blew up two separate steins in the same combo.) 3200? I forget, but I think the meter build is high. Special note that this combo is incredibly tricky to time because the 5D after the explosion has a high chance of pew pewing your opponent and messing up the combo. AndyG: I already talked about doing the 2D in my post earlier, it is pretty cute and I find it pretty awkward to anti-air because of the way the lasers are hitting the opponent. Take into real consideration that if they do not tech that you should still Jump backwards and do a J.C because this will catch them in their forced standing frames, so it gives you some nice pressure still. I have some random D patterns I like to use after the 6C stuff, but right now I'm really trying to figure out if I can get some cool cross-up stuff, so far I'm leaning towards no. Cross-up protection is pretty beast in BB. I hope you people are all recording this stuff in training mode and trying it on yourself to see what the hell can happen. Edit: I was playing with 2D, 5D, J.D, J.4D... x N and I could not find a way to gain any form of ground once this string started. Too bad it is pretty hard to get a 4 stein formation out safely. Edit again: Did you know that you if you double tap and hold down D you won't get a charged laser? I just found that out while I was trying out that formation.
  6. I was going to keep this a secret till I could upload a video of it but, whatever. So, we all know how 6C causes an emergency tech right? That means they have to tech when they hit the floor or you can OTG them for a combo, so I was playing around with some pretty troll setups and this is what I found. After XXX, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C - Do a 5D dash in deeeeeep, and 2B. If they don't emergency tech 2B will pick them up off the floor and you can do 2B, 6A, 9J2C, 663B, 6A, J.C J2C ( This nets around 3k). So, what happens if they do tech? Well, Mu's initial 2B will slide her under the opponent for a cross up where you can do 5B, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C, Delayed 214D, 5C, 6C (This nets around 3k as well) - Do a 5D dash in deeeeeep.... You can also opt to do 5B, 3C, 2B, 5C, 6C, 214D, 966, J.C J.J2C, Land, 663B 6A, 2C J.C J2C. I think this is like 3500. As long as you do the 2B correctly you end up with all sorts of frame advantage. I'm personally playing around with dash in deeeeeeep, 2D, Jump backwards (all sorts of laser sillyness happens) do a J.B or an empty jump 2B. Currently I'm working on a way to get the OTG hit to go into a 6C setup, but having the 5d so far behind you, makes putting a 6D sooooo tempting after the OTG combo. I really like this dash up stuff because you can just choose not to go under your opponent and he'll have to take the guess on wake up. Edit: BTW, I have my training mode dummy set to Emergency tech: random and Normal tech at neutral. Really helps you figure out the timing for these setups.
  7. lol, would you guys believe me if i told you she has a vortex? ;0
  8. lol, just assume if i know your first name you are a-ok.
  9. alex james brett jeff purrin will kevin ben black asian render saif romel tushar mike rachel bang tgs joe phobos jared zaidou kyle this is who i expect at my house on the 19th from socal (well except for copper) I rarely check my PMs but copper wants to do the thing at my house which is 100% A-ok with me. btw it is very important you tell me who is driving and what not because I lived in a gated community blah blah blah.
  10. I think I'll be there.
  11. On crouching tager her 5b bnb does like 4-5k. Hit confirm crouchers into 4b is worth it.
  12. Am I supposed to go somewhere this weekend. God damn I love my avatar.
  13. My honest opinion, she beats everyone but Carl Tao and Bang. Those 3 are the only hard ones she actually has to worry about. Carl isn't TOO bad, but it takes some creativity to figure out how you need to fight that match. Tao is manageable cause of her tiny ass life bar, but it is an incredible pain to keep up with her. Bang will literally just mash over you and you will lose.
  14. She'd be A+ tier if it wasn't for bang/tao as far as i can tell. bang drops her like 3-4 points so does Tao
  15. I'm going to try my best to give a brief run down of what you should expect from going to your first gathering and/or tournament. Before you go to anything, tournament or a gathering, you really need to ask yourself what are your intentions? 1. I'm looking forward to playing some real people and see how I fare against people locally. 2. I'm not that great of a player but would like to gain some input from other players. Obviously, everyone's intentions might vary a bit, but don't feel like you can't just go to a persons gathering and not talk and learn about the game. Of course playing is really good too! Some silly things to note before going to gatherings: 0. DID I SHOWER AND DO I SMELL NICE? 1. You should probably consider eating before hand. 2. Also, doesn't hurt to have the hosts # just in case. 3. May also want to see if anyone is carpooling, this is a great way to make friends in the community (look at SD, it is entirely powered by Shtkn's death trap mobile) 4. You should really find out if the host needs another setup because it is always sweet if you bring one and helps you get people to play with you. (Bring a stickkkkkk atleastttttt) 5. May also want to find out if it is cool to crash the night there, especially if you are traveling an hour or so to your destination. Alright, you get to the gathering now what!? Well two things can happen. 1. No one is there but the host (Envi) 2. There is a ton of people and they are gaming If scenario (1) happens, you better befriend the hell out of the host because he is going to know who you are because you were the first one there! Also, If the host is a formidable opponent, get in a few games in. This is another great time to improve yourself. Take into consideration if the host hosted once, he'll probably host twice so you really wanna be on his good side! If scenario (2) happens, be POLITE I can't stress this man, no one wants to play with a douche bag. In all of my years of gaming with Socal, I have never experienced anyone being an asshole ever (Well New York Kevin...) Okay, now get active! Talk to people get in some games. This is so important, so many people come to my gatherings and never speak a word except for like, "where is food" If you go to a gathering grow some balls and socialize. Gaming Etiquette Okay, this will obviously vary depending on where you are at, but something to really take into consideration is being generally polite in a fighting game. By this, I mean don't act like are an XBL player. No shit talking, no being ass hat. You are at a persons house who just wants to have people over and game with a good vibe. Some people are notoriously loud while playing (TheSadder) and that is cool and all as long as it is honest and cool with your surroundings. Try to avoid calling people a scrub to their face, the community is always trying to get stronger and doesn't need people trying to destroy it. If your opponent is god awful, I don't know how, but CREATIVELY tell them their flaws. After it is all over... Help clean up! You'd be surprise how many times it is always the same 3-4 people helping me clean up after having 20-40 people at my house. Here's probably the most important advice I can honestly and truthfully give to the Dustloop community. After a gathering/tournament seriously take a moment to reflect on how you played. Don't ever put yourself in the mindset that "Oh I lost because the player was better" To me that is the equivalent of mentally giving up. So, really spend time thinking about where your game needs improvement and if you can't really figure out what you did wrong, or what needs improvement... ASK PEOPLE. They should know how they beat you or why did, get engaged find out what to do! Don't just go home and say I need whacky ass gimmicks to win. You need to make your game stable. -Le Pulsr
  16. 3c was changed as well and that was the most vital move she had in the bang matchup, and surpriseeeeee it is her worse matchup. Anyways regarding her normals, In CT 2c was pretty much a catch all and did everything pretty decently it anti aired it was fast enough to make the person paranoid of getting hit by it and all that good stuff. But now in CS, you'll come to realize she doesn't have that "go to" move anymore. At a certain level of play, You'll realize when and how you have to use all of her normals. The only normal that really doesn't see too much use IMHO is her j.a. Ground strings you should be using are: Pretty much anything into 6b 5c x n (well on hit at least) on block you really want to keep it tight and work around her 5b since it gives you the most freedom to move around with (chain wise) FYI V13 was probably the most fair out of the top 3, Arakune had an incredibly amount of crap to shut down all of the characters. Rachel... could kill you from a block string... three pole guard break setup? GG.
  17. Day9 actually said something I thought was pretty brilliant for any gamer's mentality, "Play to not lose" begin difference between trying to win.
  18. If you can react to overheads, you can counter overheads. Tager loses a lot of his game against Hakumen because 95% of Tager's normals are 6Dable on reaction. 6D is a lot of fear if you have the reactions counting he can kill you out right if he lands a 6D and has 8 Orbs.
  19. He's talking about if Litchi does spinny staff on wakeup, or punch super. Free 6d.
  20. BB has a few key mechanics that I'll go over to help the youngin's (weaklings) Important mechanics - 1. Blocking: If you hold back or down back you will block and not take damage from your opponents attacks. Trust me blocking is good. 2. Instant Blocking (IB): If you press back or down back at a specific timing to a certain attack your character will flash white and allow your character to recover 5 frames faster or 10 frames faster if you IB an attack in the air. IBing has some pretty sweet uses, it allows you to punish the infamous Jin, ice car spam and Ragna's Hell's.... (the first part) 3. Barrier Guard (back + A+ B): You flash green and drain from your "Barrier Gauge" honestly, the gauge is useless it is super rare that it actually runs out. Barrier guarding lets you block CERTAIN moves that are considered air unblockable, like Ragna's 6A. Be wary though, Barrier guard adds more blockstun to your character, but you also gain the advantage of added push back while blocking. 4. Counter Assault "Dead Angle" (While blocking, Forward + A + B ): It costs 50 meter and can only be done while you are blocking. Basically it's a DP that is done while you are in block stun and is a great way to get your opponent off of you if you are afraid of blocking or damn lazy like me. Some characters do not actually do an attack, Hakumen (does 6d) Noel (does some ghetto slide through thing) Tao (Flies to outer space) Arakune does his grab. 5. Burst (MASH ALL THEM BUTTONS): A burst requires one stock (you start the match off with one and gain one more if you lose a round) The burst can be used offensively and defensively. Offensive burst is gold and sends your opponent spinning into the air and allows you to combo. Defensive burst is done while in block stun or getting hit. This burst just knocks your opponent away, it has its uses. *bursting halves your primers rounded down 5 primers goes to 3 and 4 will go to 2 6. Guard Primer(You blocked too good and now you get punished for it): Certain moves in BB remove "guard primers" If you lose all of your guard primers you are guard crushed for and your opponent gets a free combo. If you are guard crushed in the air you get wall bounced. *You can barrier guard the last guard primer (but this consumes 1/3 of your barrier meter), thus letting you not get guard crushed
  21. When do you think this will end? If it is early enough I can go.
