    You know, it may sound weird, but I think this game is actually balanced pretty well. There aren't any characters that autolose, and tournaments have a healthy showing of a wide range of characters. There aren't even any heavily stacked matchups, and every character seems to have at least one matchup in their favor. Observe: http://www32.atwiki.jp/fateuc/pages/37.html

    It reminds me of HnK. The game has some minor issues but is otherwise fantastic. It's obvious that lots of work and love went into it, and people played (still play) the fuck out of it but it seems like it was intended to be a one-off project so the developers cut their ties. I know I'd like to see a sequel.

    This isn't tic tac toe. There may be an optimal set of strategies, but at the end of the day the game is only a medium through which to interact with others. Since the game is not turn-based, even if there is a "perfect" strategy, there is only so close you can get to it and that strategy may even change rapidly throughout the match. The opponent's decisions and how you interact with them is ultimately what the game is about.

    gfd I'm glad KnJ is better (it only took them what, 8 games?) but imo the poor attack system has always been the biggest reason not to play this series :|

    I wish there was an easier way to play it, but it's hard to emulate and PS2s are on their way out :|

    Honestly I think Bad Boxart Megaman is kind of refreshing, if comical. Could you imagine if Capcom rebooted the Megaman series with that guy as the main character? It'd be different, I'd give them that. They'd definitely have my attention.
