  1. It looks like it's going to snow the day before and after, but not this Friday. If you're worried about snow on the road it might be an issue, but if your main concern is driving through snowstorms I think you're in the clear. Game Underground's address is: 1251 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA 01701 I hear that they usually play from about 7:00pm-2:00AM They have a website here: http://www.game-underground.com/ But they mostly post event information on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GameUnderground/info?tab=overview
  2. Unfortunately Word for that GU Boston tourney didn't get out until late, so not many people are confirmed to be going at the moment. I'm not sure who's driving in from the Connecticut area. Hope you find a ride man. I'll be at GU (Their regular Framingham location) next Friday fight night. It's been awhile since I've had the opportunity to travel beyond Boston so I hope to see some old faces there.
  3. Thanks for linking that Synyster! So far myself, Noisetank, blueNINE, and Sam V. are confirmed to go. Tales wants to, but he's looking for a ride. Gavin might also be going. I imagine there are more GU regulars planning to attend. This tournament snuck up on me cause it was announced in a facebook page of all things.

  6. I can't make it this week, but I'm interested in joining you folks in a week or two.
  7. We have a few Connecticut players (Mindgam3, Glitch, and Stryfe amongst others), but I'm not sure where they are in relation to Fairfield County.
  8. Hey man, good to hear from you. I probably won't make it out to NYC anytime soon, but that's one of the strongest regions for GG so you should be all set for local games. Just hit up Alzarath, A3Religion, XAQshinor, Mr.Biscuits, etc. My PSN is Vyers- Threads been in hibernation for a while. Maybe it'll come back now that Xrd is out? It seems like some of us have moved to the MFC facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/xmfcx/ Thanks for the heads up, but I can't make it to this one.
  9. I'm not able to make it this time, but Alex Smith (blueNINE) is hosting Xrd casuals at GU tonight, and he asked me to spread the word: Time: Tonight Friday the 12th from 7:45pm to closing time (Alex says they usually stay open till 2:00am) Place: 1251 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA 01701 Game Underground Tel: 508-283-150 Since you work in the area NewBlood this a great opportunity for you to get some games in. I can't travel right now, but I live in Portsmouth. I've been getting back into Guilty Gear now that Xrd's out. Hey Cheese. Edit: edited close time
  10. Been a long time since I've been on here. Like Tales said, Xrd is out. I'm playing May for now and will be switching to Elphelt once she's available. Alex Smith is organizing Guilty Gear Xrd casuals tonight at Game Underground. I won't be able to make it this time, but he asked me to help spread the word so: Time: Tonight Friday the 12th from 7:45pm to closing time (Alex says they usually stay open till 2:00am) Place: 1251 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA 01701 Game Underground Tel: 508-283-150 Edit: edited close time
  11. I think I have the temperament of an elderly man. I don't like changes in the fixtures of my existence or something. AB shoutouts: Noistank: Thank you for paying my way you marvelously kind gentleman. I hope my presense was soothing like a balm. Kyle: Loved the Adam cosplay. Enjoyed the rpg discussions. I'm glad you liked the belated birthday shake. Why: I'm sorry I missed your livedub, but I'm glad that we were able to get your car started okay. I enjoyed our discussion about Adventure Time and the science of humor. Seth: Good troll with the Lucifer cosplay. Glitch: I didn't realize I had a reputation for amusing rants. Zoob: What's the name of the manly dude with the Bandoleer you were using in DoA? I've never seen a man throw someone headfirst into a train before. Jeremy: Nice job with the Amane cosplay. Good finds with the GG the missing link/ Vampire Savior posters. Furok: helbye Everyone: It was wonderful to see you again.
  12. Me too. Due to unexpected circumstances, I will be attending anime boston.
  13. I'd like to go to NEC if I have money by then, definitely won't be attending anything before then. On another topic, if anyone is looking for an anime to watch I recommend Uchouten Kazoku. It's the best series I've seen in a long time. It's sort of a modern fantasy show about a family of Tanuki living in a human city. The art style is pretty typical minus the equilateral-triangle shaped ears, but the plot and character interactions give a Josei impression. http://www.chia-anime.com/uchouten-kazoku/watch-uchouten-kazoku-episode-1.html
  14. Speaking of Divekicks,I just saw the Squigly character guide and she's pretty cool. Why am I always drawn to the complicated characters?
  15. I'd love to see Baiken's maimed arm and/or her stored weapons. It's just, I feel like the new Potemkin design is really. . . un-Potemkinlike. He feels more like a robot now (that helmet, his purple glowing eyes, the switch from fingerless gloves to full metal gauntlets, what little of his voice I could faintly make out sounded mechanical). Such an extreme change in one character raises the possibilities of extreme changes in others, and I guess I have this fear that they might make Baiken into a Raiden-esque cyborg. edit: you guys have probably seen these already, but just in case here's some xrd vids: Potemkin vs May, then May vs Ky, and finally Venom vs May http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4snrS0Ltvc Ky vs May, then Ky vs Sol (shows off the new Dragon Install at the end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymzae3wBpGE
  16. Thanks for the warning man. I was considering going ahead and doing just that. No worries, hopefully the US patch comes out soon. After I got my PSN all updated I did some training mode for the first time in a while. This made me sick of the lack of random music. I tried to unlock it through missions first (turns out I was wrong and you can't through mission mode, but at least they were actually doable for me unlike a good 3rd of the old XX missions). Guess that means I'll finally see the rest of AC story mode. Edit: I might be just a purist but so far I prefer most of the old character designs over the Xrd ones. I do like the new Millia quite a bit. My greatest fear is a Baiken with cybernetic limbs.
  17. I don't think he should have that Helmet it reminds me Alphonse Elric's face. Is it for PS3? I got all hyped and went to download it but could only find the vita version. Then I searched the web and saw a patch was released for Japan PS3 but not American PS3. Fired up the game and didn't see AC R mode in options or a method for downloading a patch. Please tell me I'm just missing it.
  18. Guilty Gear Xrd needs to have 3 Robo-Ky's: Robo-Ky Mark I: Cause He's awesomely creepy and psychotic and the best Robo-Ky Mark III: A new Robo-Ky to copy the new Ky Look. Robo-Ky Mark II: Story mode fun times. . . Upset at being upstaged by the latest model, Robo-Ky Mark II seeks to put the upstart back in his place the only way he knows how. . . giving Ky Kiske a haircut! By returning Ky to his previous more subtly feminine style, Robo-Ky shall rise once again as the prime parodious! Naturally Robo-Ky Mark III seeks to thwart Mark II, with the assistance of . . . Ky! (Get away from me imposter!), and Faust! (See May further down). Mark II is aided by the likes of . . May! (Who seeks his golden locks to cure the bald malady of Faust), and Bridget! (Through a misguided attempt to assist another male suffering from an appearance which has grown woefully more emasiculating by returning him to a more hegemonically normative hairstyle.) In a side story path resulting from Robo-Ky Mark II being crushed under May and the Jolly Crew, He suffers system damage preventing him from recognizing his target resulting in his rampage against Venom, testament, and Johnny in a quest to remove the hair of any man with locks long enough to tie back into a ponytail.
  19. So I noticed that Zone-tan (far left of picture) is going to be in Skull Girls as a Patron Saint (background Character). I wonder if Mike Z has seen Zone's Skullgirls 'fan animation'. . .
  20. I guess I'm with Kyle in that I'd prefer a sequel over a reboot. Ah it does say 2187 there. Didn't notice that. It's true that Sol and Ky don't talk about Justice, but the way they were arguing reminds of their relationship towards the end of the Holy war. It gives the impression that Ky has sanctioned authority over Sol and Sol is blowing him off. Of course, they often interact in this way, but I guess I associate this behavior most strongly with the holy war. If this is indeed post GG2 Eddie should be dead, or existing inside some sort of new host, or body, or remain imprisoned by Raven. Millia could be both alive and sane, her hair is cut shorter in the video (with the possible exception of the portion directly behind her head that she whipped out). It's a similar length to the of XX story mode ending where she cuts it off. Maybe she was able to regain control of it at this shorter length?: http://file034.bebo.com/14/large/2007/05/15/19/3662304112a4388929896b873253762l.jpg
  21. I wonder when in the timeline the story's going to be? Sol and Ky's dialogue seem to imply a prequel set during the holy war. The end bit with Millia and Eddie/Zato-1 is a bit clearer evidence of a pre-XX time-point. Although, I suppose Arc Sys could always invent a reason for why Eddie's still alive in Zato-1's body. Regarding the character models: I think they look excellent. I had no idea they were polygons till the camera rotated, and in the trailer at least, they didn't give off that weird moon gravity vibe I get from most 3D/ 2.5D fighters. Ky and Sol do look very different from their XX sprites, but differences in appearance for new models are to be expected. For a tamer example check out the changes between XX and AC for character portraits: Baiken XX: http://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-03/ggx2-baiken-01.html Baiken AC: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111017161514/guilty-gear/images/1/19/Baiken.png Johnny XX: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130408194809/mugen/images/3/35/Johnny.jpg Johnny AC: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111017162505/guilty-gear/images/d/da/Johnny.png Zappa XX: http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSCQXsudbF4vWFKc2oeYo3W85-1aRVg9ew1YdJrf22kl1f6bkEeyQ Zappa AC:http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111017162917/guilty-gear/images/e/ea/Zappa.png Baiken got curvier. Zappa and Johnny more muscular. Also, remember Axl's GG sprite?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs2FsQJey3o And those old character designs where May looked grown up, Potemkin had a ponytail and they were wielding an Axe and a scythe?: http://www.unseen64.net/wp-content/gallery/guilty-gear-psx/gg7.jpg http://www.unseen64.net/wp-content/gallery/guilty-gear-psx/gg8.jpg I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of cast looks like in Xrd Sign; Here's hoping we finally get to see Raven in action.
