The New England Thread: Bears Warbling Outside My Igloo: A Polarizing Dilemma
Vyers replied to Zoob's topic in East Coast
Fraga I pm'd you Max's address and our phone numbers. Could you text us yours? @ Everyone going to Anime Boston: do you like Indian Food? There is an all you can eat Indian Lunch buffet a few blocks away from the prudential building. Max and I are planning to hit it up that weekend. It's small, but rarely crowded, and the quality is very very good. Join Us?? On a different topic, I'm moved back into NH. I'm not sure when I'll next make it to casuals, but I'll keep you all posted. -

He's an assist; Robotnik fires an Emerald-powered laser. check out the the screenshot on this page: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/main.htm Etna's a full playable character. I don't know if Flonne is in the game; you can try looking her up on the character card page here: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/cards_blue.htm Technically speaking their last video went up 1 1/2 years ago, Although your point of it being a long time since their last update stands. Yeah, it will suck horribly if they never finish it, but I'd rather know about the possibility that this game will be released, than have never heard of it or seen it. If any of you folks feel you'd rather not have heard of it since its in development hell, than I guess, feel free to despise me for it. @ Fraga: on a different topic, Max is cool with you staying over his place for Anime Boston. I'll send you his address in the near future. @ Katz: Sorry I'm not going to be in the area Anime Boston weekend. When I first brought it up, I got the dates mixed up and thought it was going to be held during March, when I'd still be in school, and picking you up would be on my way. Maybe there's someone who would be passing near your place on their way in to Boston that you could hitch a ride from? Also I still got your giant drink bottle. -

I'm excited about playing Chrono, Samus, Nina 2,and Etna. . . And The Geno, Phoenix Wright, Pocky and Rocky, and Dr. Robotnik assists. SO many awesome characters in game Card Saga Wars. It's a game in development being built using the MUGEN engine, but without ripping any graphics from other games. All the character sprites, backgrounds, projectile animations, gauges, etc are originally crafted by 2 dudes from Spain. The people working on it are very secretive. They havn't updated their website in three years, and the last vid they uploaded is the Leneth VS Walkure video uploaded a year and a half ago. I really really hope they finish it because I'll be a very sad Vyers if they don't. Website link: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/main.htm They have a list of all the characters they plan on including as either fully playable or assists here: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/cards_blue.htm See the top of the page for demo footage. -

Have you folks heard of Card Saga Wars? If you havn't check out these vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rnBRTEEfBw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5ePGaDh1iw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j_t0qeAdjQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDjeO1wCJmo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8a0YPayEvw I don't know much about the game mechanics, but I'm hyped up for it. The character choices are great (they plan on putting in 36 playable characters plus a bevy of assists). The spritework is beautiful and fluid, the backgrounds are breathtaking and excellent tributes to their games. And the character movesets are excellent and fit them well in terms of personality, and heavy use of abilities from their core series/games. My jaw dropped when I saw Chrono's 6 character beat down super at 1:22 in the first vid -

I won't be able to do next Saturday either due to graduation. and I'll be moving out the day after that:( I still want to do the pub before I leave. Tales would you be free for that Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday? EDIT: Katz, I'm glad you enjoyed Dan the Man Edit Edit: Tales has pathfinder obligations tomorrow, and he's sick with the flu, so I don't think he'll make it -

I had a great time this weekend on Saturday chilling at the good the bad and the new challengers, and eating like 50 pieces of sushi the day after. In regards to Saturday I'd like to thank Katz for being me the stereo to RCA converter parts, Ashley for getting the GG tourney started, Fraga for running GG brackets, and Master Cheese for sharing shuttling responsibilities; It was good to see everyone who made it out there, although my multiple forays in search of tech meant I wasn't around to hang out for much of the event. JacopeX, sorry I didn't introduce myself, it was fun playing you and I hope to see you again; a word of advice: I noticed you always went for the cross up dimension door, a little mix up will go a long way. Duchess 100+ soda choices was great fun; Katz getting carded at Target for a lighter and then getting his military ID rejected was bull; I chalk my free, though super late, manicotti at the Blue Colony up as a win. In regards to Sunday: Thanks a bunch Glitch for letting me crash at your place overnight; I enjoyed hanging out with you and Seth, checking out your past and ongoing cosplay woodworks, and watching that old school Dexter's Lab; Thanks especially for explaining the ins and outs of Honeywell. Why, Mindgam3, I'm glad you were able to join us at the sushi buffet. I hope you enjoyed not being the drivers for once, and that I exposed you to Jake Kaufman's music; Have you heard of shovel knight? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yachtclubgames/shovel-knight He and the lady that composed Elecman's theme are doing the music for that. I enjoyed the mid-sushi discussion of the horrifying homestuck takeover. Fraga I heard you don't eat vegetables. . . you should eat vegetables. Seth, your art exhibit is fantastic. Glitch, you are the best at directions. Tales I am very very sad that you were unable to attend the tourneysuals. As you may have realized from the fact that I'm posting this, my DM did not slay me for lack of punctuality. -

Okay Mash I'm heading back to my room (where I don't have access to internet) now. If anyone needs to get in touch with me between tonight and tomorrow regarding weekend plans give me a call. If I miss your call please leave a message so I'm not left in the dark. -

Tales/Katz/: Are you up for casuals tonight? @ Mash: So it looks like The Good, the Bad, and the New Challengers venue opens at 11:00am with registration open 1:00-1:45. Your place is about an hour away and I usually like to arrive early so how about I pick you up around 10? Any thoughts on how late you would like to stay? @ Tales/Katz/ Cheese: I know Katz wants to go. Tales do you have work off? Cheese are you coming/up for driving them home if I drive them to the venue. (blueNINE is going he might be an alternative means of a ride back if Cheese can't make it). @ Glitch: I just found out that my monthly D&D group wants to meet up on sushi buffet day. I still want to hang out and eat sushi and stuff, but I want to try to do both. D&D usually starts at 6 and it takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there from your place. I think you said that you usually do sushi as a dinner thing, but would it be alright/doable to hit it up around 2 or 3pm? Sorry to throw a monkey wrench into our plans. -
So I'll be there playing GG and VS in the corner or some such.

Where are you moving to? It looks like I'll be driving myself this time, because I'll be gorging myself on sushi with Glitch/Seth/possibly Mindgam3 the day afterward. I can probably both pick you up and drop you off Ashley. Cheese might be coming in his car as well. In regards to Tales/Katz: If you're planning on coming I can bring you down with me, but I won't be able to bring you back. In the event that Cheese can come, perhaps I could drive you to CT and he could drive you back to MA? I'm booked solid through Thursday morning. If I can get through the days worth of papers due between now and then I'd be up for meeting up on Thursday, maybe Friday. When is your dentist appointment Katz? -

Well, I think home cooking is a great idea when it's feasible. I am generally a picky eater, but I will try most things at least once. I enjoyed the few times I cooked stir-fry for people at the mindhiv3 and at Alex's place. Although, I'm not planning on doing that again any time soon, because I am lacking in utensils, ingredients, and time. Maybe, in some hypothetical future where I have a cushy, high-paying job and oodles of free time I'll take that up again. On another note it looks like I'll also be pretty busy for the foreseeable future. I will hopefully get ahead by the weekend of the 20th to enjoy gatecrashing the persona tournament, and unlimited sushi. -

Delicious delicious delicious. Edit: So about 10 years ago I saw a Toonami animated music video special that introduced me to both Daft Punk and the Gorrilaz. Last night I looked up the Daft Punk stuff again and found out they'd added enough to make a full length musical video movie of their Discovery album by the name of Interstella 5555 (Animation by the maker of Captain Harlock). If you've never seen it before check it out. It's got blue alien space parties, automated mind rape, and flying space guitars. http://zeroanime.net/interstella5555-the-5tory-of-the-5ecret-5tar-5ystem/ -

Outlaw Vinegar: It was great to finally to meet. You possess a good analytical mind, and a talent for conversation. Those will both accelerate you're learning of whichever games and characters you choose to pursue. I hope the ride home wasn't too cold bro. I am indeed an introvert, I will have to make you milkshake next time. Mash and Why: thanks for playing soul calibur with me. It's been a long time since I've played the series. Seth: It was fun watching you bring baking bishie Ragna to life. 可愛い!!!!!!!!! Why: Bread Spike! Thank for hosting. Good luck with that final push. Why's Mom: cookies oh my heart nom nom nom. Fraga: A drink to the future pursuits of PH.Ds. and Wrestlebubblegum-oozepocalypse. Cheese: Thanks for driving. and for sticking up for me, I was cool with Glitch's joshing, but I appreciate you're speaking up all the same. Katz: GG ggs 3v3s Denny's: fuck you bacon maple sundae. Glitch: THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME IZUNA DROP! NOW MY DOA KNOWLEDGE IS COMPLETE! sushi soon. Mindgam3: It was good to see although only for a short while. I'm glad you're dad only ended up with scratches and bruises. You should visit Max sometime and witness his new crazy emulation setup. -

I'll play rival schools. Or, better yet, project justice. I don't really know how to play the series, but its 3-person supers, and the gym instructors corporal punishment attacks (and buff specials) are hilarious. Cheese I would like to request a car spot -

Yes good games to all. Duna is fun. Fried mac and cheese bites were excellent like itty bitty grilled cheeses. I'm a bit sad I didn't get to try the world's best mozzarella sticks though. . . next time. -

I'm curious about which manga you're thinking of. Send me a link? @ That CT tourney discussion: I guess what it boils down to is are people willing to travel out to a tournament to play games that aren't in said tournament as opposed to just doing casuals? I'd be up for it if there will be space to set up a GG or VS or CC or something I'd like to play, but if we don't know if there will be space. . . well, I'd feel really weird just standing around twidling my thumbs as I attempt to make conversation with people in an environment where I can't hear anything. If people want to come out to this in force in place of/ before casuals I'll be up for joining. Assuming finals courseload isn't murdering my at that time. @Mash: don't play any Kyo. Kyo is a super lame, boring, lazy, fake main-usurper, whom Terry leaves alive as a joke:mad: (It's pretty damn pathetic when the 4+ characters based on him are all cooler than he could ever hope to be) -

So my Spring Break went like usual. A) I Reminded myself I need to get coursework and other shit done over break so that I'm not fucked when I get back. B) I took a few days off to hang out with friends I hadn't seen in while, and unwind after the pre-spring break crunch C) Hiki D) Hiki E) Told myself I really should get started on that take home exam. Didn't actually started. F) Hiki G) Hiki more H) Go to drive back to school, my car breaks down, I get nothing productive done. I) Actually drive back to school J) Sadlife
