  1. I loved Megaman X8! Sure it had that silly 3D flying stage with the jellyfish, but it also had different weapons for Zero (finally giving him toys comparable to X's armor upgrades), A new Antagonist that mattered (fuck sigma), and Bamboo Pandamonium!! How can you not love Bamboo Pandamonium?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iCy71awWkk :52 That being said I love classic 8-bit Megaman too. Wish street fighter X Megaman wasn't sobuggy, and was properly named, and didn't have Crimson Viper in it. X6 was fun too. It had my favorite Soundtrack of the X series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwhZAtHM5oY (everyone knows this is the theme of the giant fucking robot in the background not Infinity mijinion) Also had that sweet sweet Shadowman Armor. edit: been playing my favorite Zelda again: Link's Awakening. I'm in glitch heaven.
  2. Shoutouts to Why's awesome (Christmas?) gift to his little bro. edit: Fucking amazing Megaman X fan Video: http://www.thearabgamer.com/2012/12/fan-made-mega-man-x-tribute-video-is.html?spref=fb
  3. Another picture so you can see the pommel
  4. Hey Glitch I got some measurements of Max's Fuuraiken If you plan to build your Robo Ky sword out of wood he recommends Ash. It's allowed for replica weapons at most cons, pretty light weight, and fairly sturdy. You'll need a routing table for parts of the work. The total length of the sword is 73 inches long. The Blade is about 51.5 inches long. Not counting the portion completely covered by the hilt, the Blade would be 49 inches long The surface is 2 inches across and about 1/2 an inch tall. The blades edges are beveled. The hilt/swordguard is a complicated piece of work. The blue base section is divided into 4 parts (think of it like the piece was cut in half vertically and then horizontally). These pieces were routed to fit the blade and grip, and the 4 pieces were glued together into one piece. The outside edges were slightly beveled to round them. The white parts extending from the blue section on the top and bottom sides were glued on. The blue rounded section near the grip was also glued onto the base section. The total length of the hilt is 9 inches long It is 7 1/4 inches across at the widest point; 3 inches across at the shortest point; the cavity exposing the wide part of the blade is about 1 inch across. The blue base section is 1 inch tall; the white section rises an additional 1/2 inch from the base; the blue rounded rear section rises 3/4 inch from the base. The grip fits partly inside the hilt/swordguard and the pommel. It's 11 inches long about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The white hexagon pommel is routed to fit the grip, and the two cylinders that poke out of it diagonally. It's 6 inches long. 3 inches across at it's widest; 1 3/8 inches at its narrowest. It's 1 3/4 inches tall. The two cylinders jutting out of the hexagon are 2 inches long. 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Bishie hater:mad: @ Glitch. I forgot to ask Noisetank about the Ky sword when I was up there, but I just left him a message asking about measurements. I'll pass the info on when I hear back from him.
  6. Fair enough. The way my paper's have been going, I'll probably go Sunday
  7. I'll be doing family stuff for New Years. New Years Casuals sounds like a great time though. Kona I really hope you enjoy Cross Game. It's one of my favorite manga/anime Had/have more papers to work on unfortunately. Ironically I was planning to head to Boston this Sunday (or Saturday evening if I finish early), to hang out with Noisetank through Monday. If people are interested in coming with me and could stay that late, I could probably pick them up. Plans include Irresponsible Captain Tyler, Guilty Gear, Planetes, A Link to the Past, Wing Night, and possibly Bubble Gum Crisis pen and paper rpg if I have the campaign ready. Speaking of Irresponsible Captain Tyler, that's another Anime I recommend watching (The English dub is a little rough but really funny. As for you sub purists, I don't know how the 日本語 dub is as I've only watched it in English). The premise is that a talentless fool joins the United Planets' Space Force, hoping to get a cushy job in the pension department, but he gets promoted to ship captain through a series of mishaps which he somehow turns to his favor using his charismatic powers of persuasion and epic level luck: http://www.englishanimes.com/watch/irresponsible-captain-tylor-episode-1-dub-online/

  9. Cool Edit: Kona the romance manga disguised as a baseball manga I was thinking of is Cross Game manga: http://www.mangahere.com/manga/cross_game/ anime: http://www.gogoanime.com/cross-game-1 Also congrats to Morikaway Jyoji on Chapter 1000 of Hajime no Ippo
  10. So I left my Bubblegum Crisis source book in the Genstove-NazZoob-Noisetank room. Anyone grab it on their way out?
  11. Okay basic gameplan: pick up Katz @ 2:00, pick up Tales @ 2:30, pick up Kona and his friend around 3:15. We'll stop at Mitsuwa for awesome Japanese food when we hit New Jersey, check into the hotel around 10, then head over to the Copabanana for casuals/ bring people to Holiday who are staying there/ grab Zoob at some point. Philly is a little over five hours away; on a full tank my car lasts about 4 1/2 hours on the highway, and it costs roughly $50 for me to fill up my tank. I'm guessing tolls will be around $10 each way. So I'm going to ask for $25 a person for gas and tolls. As I mentioned above the room will be about $220 for 2 nights. The final cost will depend on how many people stay with me (as of now we have 4). 4 people= $55 a person, 5 people= $44, 6 = $37 a person. Plan to put $55 into the room for now. I'll keep everyone posted as the room count changes. Your presence will be missed, but I applaud your responsibility.
  12. Alright I booked a room at the Sheraton for Friday+Saturday nights. It's 10 minutes away from the venue (Holiday Inn). The total came to $219. We'll all split this by the number of people that end up rooming with me. Since I won't be rooming with Genstov now he'll probably want a new 5th person. Katz I recommended you, but anyone who's interested in rooming with Genstov should drop him a pm (he has a room in the Holiday Inn). Assuming Katz rooms with Genstove my room is looking like: me + Kona + Kona's friend + Zoob. Anyone else interested in a spot?
  13. Does this have to be a family member, or can I babysit my underage friends?
  14. Alright, I'll reserve a room tonight if I havn't heard back from you all that someone else has one. The only ones left are at the back up hotel. Not sure how far it is from the venue hotel. I can conceivably fit 4 people in my car. It's not Honda Civic small (I have a sedan), but it might get a bit crowded with 3 people in the back seat. If you're cool with that then I'll bring you both. I will need your address(es). Is anyone interested in going to this Friday night? sounds like a lot of the air dasher players will be there. Supposedly under 21 year olds have to be 'with an adult' past 10pm. Not sure if this means family, or just acquaintances. Edit: Tales when will you be done with school Friday? If it looks like we'll make good time, I will most likely make a Mitsuwa pit-stop for BLACK SESAME ICECREAM:yaaay: Edity edit: Just a heads up. The Sheraton website adds $10 per person over 2. If I get a room I'll reserve it for a party of 2, and we'll take steps to thwart room-service spies. I've never been overcharged for extra people in the past, but I'm throwing this out there now in case it does happen
  15. Sounds like this'll be the place to go for casuals Friday Night.
  16. It sounds like Genstov doesn't want more than 5 people staying in his room. This means we'll be needing at least 1 other room. Does anyone else have one/have the means to get one? I could reserve a room in the back up hotel as a last resort.
  17. I'm going. I'm planning to leave Friday afternoon, and come back on Sunday afternoon or evening. I'm either rooming with Genstov or renting my own room (depending on number of people/ days Genstov is staying.) I'll be driving down, probably bringing Tales and Katz with me. I can bring you as well if you're planning on coming/ returning around the same time. I will be needing gas money from everyone who travels with me (havn't worked out how much yet). The rooms will be around $200 for 2 nights, the cost per person will of course depend on how many people share each room. @Glitch: Sorry man, I really want to be there Friday night for casuals. If you end up taking the train, some hotels offer free shuttles to/from the station. if you need a ride from the station to the hotel text/call me and I'll pick you up from there. edit: pre registration ends tomorrow @ 11:59pm
  18. Preregistered so I'm officially coming. See you all next week.
  19. ??? Did I leave a puddle in your driveway or something?
  20. Looks like they had to form a new company to get it done. So my class is done. Katz, I guess I'll pick you up and head out to look for Tales (since I still have his phone I don't know if he'll be at his place or X9). NEC is doing GG on PS2 so bring your PS2 pad. blueNINE, give me a call if it turns out you want to meet up. Leaning toward going to NEC. venue fee = $30 pre-reg (good through Nov 25th)/ $40 at door tournament fee = $10 for GG singles (anyone hear anything about 3v3?) hotel fee = $109 a night divided by X Food = live off 2 Gallons apple juice , 2 loafs of potato bread, 1 jar peanut butter Gas = varies depending on who wants to travel with me Hoping to keep it as low as possible.
  21. Is there any chance of Guilty Gear teams?
  22. I'll be going home for thanksgiving. Katz, blueNINE, Tales, are you up for some GG training mode tonight? I'd like to practice defense. FYI Internet's down at my room again so If I'm late to respond to online stuff that's why.
  23. DaiAndOh, thank you sir for running this tournament and starting the pot bonus hype train. You put a ton of time and money in this and I as well as the rest of NE appreciate it. Drew: GGs taking me out in tourney and MM Steve H.: You're Ky is too good. Iora: GGs. Basic Baiken advice: Heavyslash moves are dangerous in pressure strings. Baikens are made for throwing. Greek: Nice to meet you. I thought I had you in the 3rd game but you did a wonderful job adapting and almost ran it back. Baikens are made for throwing. RIl: Good to see you again. I enjoyed watching your casuals vs Steve H. Millia mixups are mighty fine. I have this bad habit of losing the count when I get too focused, apologies if I came across as trying to sneak an ill-gotten victory. Our match was a lot of fun. I value your commitment to Ino, for she is a character so rarely seen. A3Religion: GGs. I need to get my TK youzansen, and anti-tick skills back. Asian Dave/ Dave Chen: I didn't think you were coming, glad you made it! Ensenga: I havn't seen you in forever. You might find it amusing that my Trenchcoat is actually a remnant of an old Johnny Cosplay. Maybe some tourney I'll bring it back. Star Demon: I hope you found our conversation insightful. If you have any questions about Baiken stuff drop me a pm and I'll answer to the best of my ability. St!ickBuG: Holy fuck did you level up. Mahouko: You're Bridget was the hypest part of this tournament. I regret that we didn't play. Bring back the cosplay. Thanks to DaiAndOh Brokentier Nazgul and Sogos for building the giant pot snowball. I think we had a record number of Johnny's at GM, saw at least 4. I bet you're all pumped for the fixes in AC R. I'm very glad to see so many people getting into/ back into GG now that the new ports are out, but I'm sad at the problems they present. It feels like there is a speed/lag difference between PS2/PS3/360 versions. I wish there was only one system used like in the previous generation. Also, fuck Sony of America. Apologies to everyone (mostly NE) exposed to Vyers' brand salt.
  24. Tales I have your phone. Edit: Katz that medly is tasty. I enjoyed Elizabeth dancing with the bears
