Whats everyone using for pressure strings? I'm finding I have the most trouble opening people up that just sit on shield and don't do anything, since Merk's overhead is extremely slow. Generally I just do 5C 2C 5A or 5C 3C (blocked) fireball to stay safe but I know he's gotta have some setups for throws and stuff too. Oh also found out you can actually cross people up with Merk if you go into flight after jumping over them. Normally this game has cross up protection, you just block the way the character is facing, but flight resets the direction merk is facing so you can say, end your oki in 4B if you haven't jump canceled and then jump cancel the 4B towards them and fly right on top of them, and change your orientation depending of the timing of the flight into j.C. Only problem is you have to do CS combos or 623A 66C etc combos to not use your jump cancel, and that gives up a little damage.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but figured I would point it out since its pretty cool. If you do his 214[A]/ and then hold the button, you can release it whenever you want. Here's where it gets cool though. You can use your B+C (MACARENA!) to move the puddle that the charged 214A is attached to and you can release it at the new location whenever you want. So, if you're ever having trouble getting in and they just won't do anything, you can punish people being passive with this, since you essentially can force them to block whenever you want at full screen with this tech. Also defensively, the charged 214A's can be set along with your blood wheels. So you can use the wheel to cover you setting up the 214A if you want to. Probably has some applications on offense too. Edit: Also forgot to mention, if you have a charged 214A out you can do B+C in combos and then release to keep things going, The B+C combos into the release. Cool application: with charged 214A at their feet at full screen: 6B 6B+C release 214A 6B 22A.... about 3K from full screen. You can also do 22C at the end if you want more damage / setup. Alternatively, 6B 6B+C 22C works whenever without a setup lol edit edit: 6B 623A 6B 41236D full screen 200% confirm >_<

Yeah I think Merk's mid range game is much better than gordeau's. You can dash 5BB to punish whiffed 5C's from gordeau and stuff. To me the matchup feels a lot like fighting Geif in SF4. Just stand around and react to everything he does cause if you jump you die, if you go in when he has meter you die lol. Doesn't help Gord gets 3.5k - 4k + oki off literally everything. Also he can reaper merk's 3C on reaction if you do it in block strings I think so.... don't do that >_< The good thing is, you have pretty good offense and Gord doesn't have any way out without meter so you can pressure him pretty well.Just try not to jump at all. Ever. Seriously.

Hmm works for me, try like... 2B 2C 623A 66C 22C blah blah, should work. -------------------- Re the spinny mashy throw, I finally got 8 hits but holy shit you have to mash hard. I don't think I'm going to go for that in a real match just because you have to start mashing so hard as soon as you throw them, so if they break the throw you're kind of in a bad spot already mashing lol Any of you guys fought a good Gordeau yet? I feel like that matchup might be one of merk's worst because of grim reaper. You really can't do anything in the air unless you're full screen or he can just reaper on reaction, so that eliminates a lot of the fast fly overhead stuff from our arsenal. Kind of forced to play a ground game against him.

I can't for the life of me get the 8 hits on his grab and I'm mashing as hard as I can. I think there might be some trick to it or something because I don't think I can mash any harder on a pad lol..... that throws going to wear it out quick. I found a way to force meaty snakes: you do whatever combo into 66C, then cancel the landing recovery with 22C, that should OTG them with the snake super. Then you can pick them back up with say, 2B 5B 4B and by the time all that is done, the snakes will be attacking. You have to do it without using any wall bounces / OTGs I believe (might work off dive kick starter I'm not sure though). Does anyone know if he has frame data anywhere? I'd really like to know what some stuff is on block IE dive kick.

I do, 100% paid off a couple of weeks ago. It's my metal box that's more oval than box. But it still goes fast. Sometimes. But yeah... I know I'm deviant. I don't like football or pork all that much and cars don't interest me unless they're retardedly nice. I guess those of us with SUVs and Motorcycles are shit out of luck.

Zero / Dormammu / ???? is my team for right now. I like Dante, I like Deadpool, Wesker is cool, Ammy, and Arthur too, but I'd need to play them all to see. I also like Taskmaster and Hsien Ko so it's tough to really say who my third is. Dormammu, for some reason, is just really awesome to me. I'll crush your world.

I don't like the new Bang changes much. 623B wall bounce was the most fun part of the character, now it's gonna be way less satisfying. If I ever do play again I'll probably switch to Valk, but honsestly, I think I'm just going to retire. By the time I could practice, MVC3 will be out, and I care about that a lot more than animu lol Oh well, it was real BB!
