  1. Tested it and yes that works too. Deals an extra 151 damage. I haven't tested it on everyone so I don't know who it does and doesn't work against, but I know the j.D one works on all the cast.
  2. Lol. I'm gonna change it back again in or a week or so. Noel General got changed into the S.O.S Brigade and I'm a sucker to peer pressure. If you can land a 6A, you're better off going into 6C > sjc > j.D > stuff instead. Easier to land and does more damage. And yeah, I never use Spring Raid as an ender on block unless I wanna rapid into j.C (which usually lands me a counter-hit) > 3C or if I'm breaking the last primer. Still, whatever works for you go for it. That's cool. I'm usually on around that time as well. Your GT is the same as your username, right? I'll add you when I'm next online.
  3. 1. 665B > 5C > sjc> J.C > j.B > jc > j.B > j.C > j.236C Basically if you're at max range, go into your challenge 4 combo. 2. I usually use rapids to make Spring Raid and 3C safe on block. Also, if you manage to land a Spring Raid and they're too far away for you to link the 66C, you can link it with a rapid cancel. Just like in CT. You can also tack on a little extra damage to your drive juggle if you use Fenrir after a j.D. So, (opponent in the air)5D > d.6B > d.5C > j.D > Fenrir. I usually only do this to finish someone off when Bloom won't do it though; the extra damage isn't that great. 3. Yeah, that's her CA. It just wouldn't be Noel if her CA didn't have a 'lolinvul' quality about it. Haha. I pride myself on not pressing D like I'm CT Nu, ya know? Also, I've got work today, but if you want we can play tomorrow? I was gonna try and arrange some sort of Noel study group with Luna, Thunder and anyone else on XBL, so maybe you could get in on that too?
  4. I'm going to assume you mean CSI. That combo does 4232 and gains 35 heat. It'd do a fair bit more in CSII though seeing as Fenrir's minimum damage is buffed. I looked through a few of those combos and I'm not sure how legit they might be. For example: Obviously this won't work in CSII as we can no longer cancel our throw into anything. Also, some of them just seem weird: I don't see why someone would opt for a 2A instead of "66C > 236A > 66C" after the 22C as the 2A would just prorate the combo more. Especially since 22C is meant to bounce the opponent higher meaning there's not much chance of us whiffing a 66C. Some of them do look okay I guess, but I think I'll give it a bit more time before I put them in the thread.
  5. It's like we're playing CT all over again. You know what you said earlier about the BBS bypassing Bloom Trigger in Noel's combos? Got any more info on that? The guy in the video used it as an ender so I'm just wondering what is the actual deal with that move.
  6. Couldn't we already deal around 6k damage from a FC 4D in the corner?

Use any of the above drive combos barring the one with that particular starter if you land 4D on a crouching opponent. j.D > d.6B > d.6C > d.5D > d.5C > d.236D will not work on Lambda or Makoto, so use the regular drive ender of j.D > d.6D > d.6B > d.5D > d.5C > d.236D on them. 9. Contents: 1. Midscreen Combos 2. Corner Combos General Notes/Misc Data: IMPORTANT LunaKage has gone through the trouble to create this video for us: a showcase of Noel's challenge mode combos optimised for practicality and use in matches. Checking this out before going on to try the combos in this thread would most definitely be beneficial for those learning, re-learning or trying to improve their Noel. Bolverk-GTM has also produced a small video of Noel's basic combos for beginner's to try in order to get a feel for Noel combo fundamentals (enders, dash cancels, Optic Barrel mid-combo etc.) Some more advanced combos are featured in this video. - XXXX/XX = Damage/Heat Gain - Notations in brackets or parentheses e.g. (5C >) indicate optional inputs - #D indicates drive starters and d.#D indicates drive followups. - sj = Super Jump ([2]7/8/9) - RC = Rapid Cancel (A+B+C) - CH = Counter Hit Move List 236A/B/C = Optic Barrel 214A = Muzzle Flitter d.236D = Bloom Trigger d.623D = Spring Raid d.214D = Assault Through 632146D = Fenrir (Distortion Drive) j.236236D = Thor (Aerial Distortion Drive) 214214C = Valkyrie Veil (Astral Heat) Unless otherwise stated, 6C used in combos should only use the first hit. A 6C that uses the second hit will be noted as '6C(2)' and is reserved for when you are in/near the corner. The damage and heat gain on combos that use 22(B)xN may be higher or lower if you fit in more or less 22B reps respectively. Fenrir can be tacked on to the end of most combos after j.D, d.6B, d.5C, d.6D and 6C anywhere and after d.236D in the corner. If you are using a combo that has XX > 236A(OpticA) > 6C > j.D > d.6D > ... in it and you can't get the d.6D to connect, remember to delay your 236A by a little bit so your opponent is at the right height and the rest of the combo connects. 2369236D (TK Thor) can also be input as 2362369D; I will always noted down TK Thors with the first notation, but both work so use whichever version you feel more comfortable with. If you're going to use gold bursts in your combos, make sure you do so as early as possible. Noel can jump cancel her 6C into a TK Gold Burst as well, so there's no need to rapid cancel into it. It is possible to do two Fenrirs in the corner usually by cutting a combo off short. Instead of doing d.6B > d.5D > d.5C > d.236D, go for d.6B > Fenrir x2 to have an easier time linking double Fenrirs.
  10. I know. I won't even lie, I just got lazy when I was editing. I had just the right amount of footage to fit the song and I didn't wanna rework it. xD I'll make a much better one for CSII.
  11. I see. Thanks the input guys; it was really helpful. Sounds to me like she requires a lot of effort to get good with her, so I'll think I'll have to pass on learning her fully. I'm not a quitter or anything, it's just I'm already dedicated to completely mastering Noel, so picking up a character this difficult as a sub just wouldn't be viable if I have to put in a ton of work. Again, thanks for your time.
  12. My YouTube Channel What I like to think is a practical combo video. CS1 Noel Combo Video - Lost Child
  13. I know this isn't really the place, but I couldn't find an appropriate active thread to post this in. Anyway, how difficult on a scale of 1-10 would you say learning Mu is?
  14. ^ If that does end up happening let me know please. I'd like to get in on this and record/stream it too if y'all don't mind.
  15. For Europeans who have a Makoto code for the 360, the issue has been fixed. Even if you used the code before, it'll still work now.
  16. That's weird. I thought they had that whole minimum damage thing with distortion drives so it wouldn't do crappy damage as a combo ender.
  17. I know, man. I can't wait. ;) Also, have you checked out the new changes to CSII Tsubaki? I think she got some more buffs.

  18. Same here. Any word on exactly how her normals are getting buffed? Like are they all getting more damage or priority or what? 6C coming out faster would be nice.
  19. Really? Almost everyone else thinks the opposite lol.
  20. You promised a black man chicken. What did you expect? xD Shame you can't make Friday though. I don't think I have the energy (or the money) to go up to London three days in a row. Well I'll see you on Saturday anyway so it's all good.

  21. It's like I always say man: a win's a win. If you do end up making it on Friday and I beat you because you were using a stick, don't think I'll let you off buying me a mini fillet. ;) Good luck learning how to use a stick if you're trying by the way. Don't be put off by people saying it took forever to learn; it only took me about a month to get to decent with it. You can't be making us all feel bad beating us with a pad forever lol.

  22. Thanks for the tip. Also, if they're that similar to her 5A combos, why don't you just put a (j.C) at the beginning of those combos and note how much damage/heat gain you can get from it compared to without it. Or even simpler, just add a bit in the notes section that says her 5A combos can be started in that way? Just wondering.
  23. 3C 22BC 66C 4D d.6C d.2D d.623D 6C j.D d.4D Bloom 6C 5D d.6B d.5B d.5C Bloom ~ 5241/60 corner I've been trying to get this combo down, but I keep whiffing the first d.6C. Any suggestions on how to pull this off?
  24. Ibuki is just hard to use stick or no stick lol. But I know what you mean. I'm not sure if it's because I'm new to the game or what but I get beat out by really cheap tactics more in that game than I do in others. I'll still play for a change sometimes, but I don't think I can dedicate myself to it in the same way as I have for BB. Speaking of tournaments, have you checked this out: http://neoempire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9827 LTG is the day after though, but I know me and Frost are gonna be there. You should come too and own some scrubs for free. ;)

  25. I didn't know that, but it makes sense if that's the kind of characters you like playing. I just got SSFIV yesterday and I'm maining Ibuki and maybe Sakura or Juri. I like female characters too and they've stood out so far. I always go for characters I like rather than those that are good.
