  1. midscreen is one thing, because you can hit her and get out of the way of the fireball. but in the corner, even if you block the whole thing and start to punish the fireball comes back down. I don't have the character so I can't test against it, but it's pretty annoying. if you back away, she can put out a graviton and subject you to invisible mixup from the super fireball etc.

I think 4d is weaker in this matchup in that regard. it lost head invuln so it can't be used against winded approaches at all. it's the same speed but it has a lot more body invuln.. and projectile invuln. You're losing to it because 2b is a projectile. in EX the invuln went away before the strike, i used to just mash 5a through it until it hit her at times... try 2a or 3c
  3. I take issue with this. Especially with this. Black hole shouldn't ever work to get out of your pressure, you run at her and punish. Super fireball on the other hand, will get her out of pressure, whether you like it or not, and I don't think there is anything we can do about it. Teleport has some ways of dealing with it, but it's also far from useless. Her backdash looks quite strong too and there's also counter assaults. If she has a graviton set and you manage to touch her, it's safe to say you're not going to be pressuring her, you probably lose pressure even if you go straight for an overhead because of the pull. My approach in neutral has not been to try to get charge because if you let her set up her shit, that is bad. Same as mu, rachel, etc really I think. But what I will do is I'll get my charge and I WON'T USE IT in combos unless it's a kill.
  4. I'm trying to get the basic gameplan down better right now really. feels like even when I see bats used it is occasionally. though I do use them as you said, specifically against zoners. GGs to everyone who played my rachel in training. Feel like I'd have some pretty good games if I would just not drop 70% of combos/pressure strings.

  9. Those ice cars actually aren't overheads, thank god, I was wondering if I'd have to deal with RC 50/50 mixup. With regards to the anti air, 6a is pretty amazing but playing Rachel I'm seeing some of the flaws it has. it really doesn't have much horizontal range. combined with a generally slow run speed, it's very hard, in my experience, to _run in_ and anti-air someone. This is a typical part of my game with Tsubaki or Makoto... I thought maybe I'd try winding to get in faster, but since wind moves the enemy pretty strongly when they're in the air, it has proven fruitless. but I do find that a lot of the time, even if the opponent double jumps, you can just mash 6a again, it recovers so fast, and hits so high, and goes invuln reasonably fast. i.e. in order for them to not get hit by the first 6a they have to be pretty high in the air, so if you do whiff a 6a it's going to be longer before they're falling on you than if other characters whiff their antiair. not 100%, of course.
  10. I, for one, put a family member in a hospital so I could watch this today. that's the level of commitment I have as a simple spectator.

  15. the startup, the active frames, the recovery are all together exceptional, and it has a really good hitbox too. you might think that something like that doesn't hit crouchers, but it does. and it hits behind her too. or at least very close to her center so it can hit people behind her. it's one of her ridiculous moves, certainly not ' not that good'.

  22. I didn't see it in the video, but I think you lost the matchup very early on. Basically, your yomi was weak and/or possibly an execution error? I'm just saying, I know I've been messing up like that for a long time. Jin Rachel and Valkenhyne are all adjacent to Tsubaki so it happens really easily.
  23. yeah, I guess I should say, don't use 5b there, it's really not a good idea. many characters that will want to mash out will low profile your 5b automagically. 5c is a better bet. but there's always also jumping.
