  1. lol ok...so you guys can react...but you get hit...k.
  2. I don't think it's fair generalizing overheads as reactable. Most of them you have to guess. Some you can react to, but for the most part, at least from my experience, you have to guess.
  3. intergalactic soldiers are such dicks.
  4. No one will ever learn the Carl matchup LOL...or tao for that matter. They will always be top tier both because of lack of matchup experience and because their designs are just fundamentally strong. Too bad you need a brain to play either...idk how much brain damage CS1 litchi did to you Midnight...so yeah...
  5. I live in TN and we have Blazblue monthlies here. As soon as the AC port releases we are picking that up as well. We have some pretty good GG players as well so you are more than welcome to come!
  6. To be honest Chandler, cross-ups and high/low mixups are both the same kind of concept especially at top level play. Skilled players know when a move will cross you up and as such they can become predictable. So it's not as ambiguous as you think. if you just think of blocking cross ups the same as blocking high/low mixups as basic 50/50 guesses either the opponent is going to cross you up or not like how you guess whether the opponent is going for a high or low it feels generally the same. Like high/low mix-ups there are common scenarios when people go for cross-ups and as such makes them more predictable. I think KOF got overheads right. Most characters have to HD cancel to combo from their overhead meaning the game makes it expensive for you to just guess rather than rely on solid fundamentals to open up your opponent. Also the fact that a gatling into'd overhead no longer is an overhead means that you have to risk doing a raw overhead in order to mix-up your opponent which increases the risk and reduces one's tendency to just rely on lucky guesses to open up the opponent. it's just silly how much you get away with in BB when it comes to committing to DP's and high/low mixups. There are just too many scenarios where it's just guess play and not so much reading your opponent. That's why Jin dittos will always be my favorite. Just pure solid fundamentals. You want to do damage off an overhead? you have to spend 50 heat. You want to combo off DP? you gotta spend 50 heat.
  7. WOOOOOOOT I WAS FUCKING RIGHT!!! @____@ if it has blazblue's godlike netcoding, this is going to be tooo awesome!!! My backstory: So I really got into fighting games when I was playing need for speed high stakes on my computer and my brother comes in and is like "wtf is that shit" and he pulls out an NES that he borrowed from his friend. We were too poor to afford a console of any kind at that time which was around gamecube, ps2, xbox era and I didn't have any of hte previous consoles so the NES felt very new to me. He had 3 games SFII super turbo, MK2, and some wrestlemania game and I immediately fell in love. All we knew how to do was spam hadoukens, jumping roundhouse, and crouching roundhouse. Because SFII didn't have a command list in the game and we didnt have the manual we basically taught ourselves how to do shoryuken by realizing that sometimes when trying to do a hadouken we would get a shoryu. so basically we thought you had to do like half circle back half circle forwards. Fast forward and I finally get a ps2. I see a game called CvS2 on the shelf at gamexcrazy and I see Sagat who I immediately recognize from SFII and some cool looking dude pointing at me telling me to buy the game (kyosuke). I didn't know what the game was about but I had to buy it cause it looked cool. I remember getting blisters from using the ps2 pad and doing the motions for specials. To keep playing I had to take electrical tape and wrap it around my thumb. and even though I had no one to play it with, and i thought no one in the world played this obscure game (since all the kids around me were into things like GTA) I just felt compelled to learn it. I remember I spent days trying to do Rock's super that isn't raging storm. Only like five years too late did I realize that the game was HUGE. It's just everyone who played it was like 10 years older than me lol.
  8. Tad I am going to Power Up. I don't mind skipping Final Round but I promised myself to go to Power Up since Kyle's already made several trips down here. EVERYONE ELSE should have the same promise as well. But as far as my car goes. I'm trying to sell it right now and if I do, I'm buying a sedan which can still seat 3 others. I would be willing to take that car to Power Up. I don't have confidence in my station wagon making it up there but I'm willing to help pay for whatever mode of transportation we decide on if I don't get another car by then. ALSO GUILTY GEAR NEWS!!! http://am-show.sega.jp/aou12/lineup/ggxxacp/index.html Idk if they are doing an HD remake of AC but they have it listed as a 2012 title. Wish I could read Jap. I'd be hype if it's a 360/PS3 port with HD sprites.
  9. Hi there. Switching from Bang to Jin in Extend. I'm liking how he depends on fundamentals more than just high/low guessing. He makes me think more.
  10. No, but everyone and their grandmother play Ragna. Also, maybe Amazon didn't buy a shit ton of copies because they know no one plays BB? lol. Edit: Why did they change Hazama's VA in story mode?!!
  11. It's ok. I can just play ranked or player match and fight millions of Chandlers.
  12. @Milln+Jackie: I'm in the same predicament but I really don't think your desire to get 1st in tourney should detract you from learning and enjoying other games. I would rather sacrifice my ability to place top so i can play other games I know I would enjoy playing. Do you value placing high more than playing games you love?
  13. I don't have a curfew. Didn't think anything goes on afterwards.
  14. It KILLLSSS ME that I live 5 minutes from game galaxy yet I never have the opportunity to go because of work and school. I'm going to try to change my work schedule so that I have friday and saturday off (which is going to be really hard to do).
  15. Well all of your reasons Volpe is partly why Leona is bottom tier. You are going to expect having those frustrations playing what some top players consider the worst character in the game. Plus, I think it just takes dedication and time focusing on only one team to become better.
  16. Uhm a good number of people in the bb community is playing it or have the intention of picking it up. Star, chandler, me, milln, astaroth, volpe, etc. etc.
  17. Volpe, where do i fall under in players you face? the fun as hell players or the spastic crackheads? just curious. CAUSE IM SALTY AS FUCK! Also, Volpe I had the same issues as you until i realized that sometimes doing nothing is doing smoething. Sometimes you shouldn't press any buttons at all and just move and whiff punish with one hits. If you focus less on setting up a combo and focusing mainly on getting more hits in on the guy than he/she is getting on you you'll be surprised how many more wins you'll get. Patience is KEY!! Accept what you HAVE to do in each situation regardless of what you WANT to do. That's what the lab is for. Test other character's shit against your chars it will make every situation less random and more knowledgeable. So that spastic crackhead becomes a predictable fool.
  18. The guy on the maxi forums was saying it like it was something unique to maxi, because otherwise why would he mention something that is universal. @Astaroth: Pick Natsu. LOLZ!!
  19. Wow, just realized extend comes out next tuesday!
  20. If all else fails Chandler, x-factor that bitch and whip out da dick.
  21. Chandler ask to take the test at an earlier time. Professors usually don't have an issue with students taking tests early, only late (for obvious reasons).
  22. Mad respect for the sig Star. Lol Also this song needs to be in the next Blazblue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lszdEZ0-74&feature=related
  23. Yeah I was in the library at mtsu and the dude next to me was on SRK...and i was like "you play fightan gaymez?" he said "yeah" and I told him bout us. Got his numba, he plays KOF and MAHVEL but yeah we are growing!!! Spread DA TRUTH!
  24. Lmao clean hits are dumb. After someone on the maxi forums said the last hit of his CE can clean hit I tried it out online and LOL it does a SHIT ton of damage when it clean hits. and for it to be just random...that's dumb.
