@Billy: Arcsys definitely knows what they are doing and you can see it in terms of the tier list and the overall competitive quality in the game. From CT to CS2 the gaps in-between the characters definitely shrunk. If you look at this year's SBO top 8 7 different characters qualified even a low tier char. (Bang) placed third. Not to mention tsubaki who isn't considered top tier won the whole thing. And if you look at the changes from CS2 to CS2 extend in terms of the system mechanics they didn't make any drastic changes and for the most part every character is mostly preserved from cs2 to cs2ex. Most characters just got additional tools and can do the same combos/half of the same combos/more combos since CS2. You can tell they are really comfortable with where the game is generally at right now since most of the changes are just minor tweaks. BB makes you have better reaction, makes you a more mobile player in almost any other fighting game, is a good foundation for getting into guilty gear, and perfect blocking helps with learning parry if you play 3s lol. @Astaroth: If you actually look at the patch notes for MK9 most of their "patches" deal with bug issues, networking, and some very light changes to characters in terms of complete bullshit like infinite blockstun issues but that's more of a bug than anything. The pattern of changes netherrealm is doing is the same as arcsys. over the course of these patches they have found where they feel they struck a good balance and are more focused on just tweaking it while preserving a large part of what they already created. I don't know any other fighting game with more diverse top 8 results consistently at every major than MK9. You can't get this kind of balance with a dev team that doesn't know what they are doing.

Soooo I've been seeing bbcsx vids with dora on a rampage and the fact all bang got was buffs and everyone else got nerfs one way or another makes me think he atleast moved up on the tier list. Dora said that "Bang is strong" on his twitta...so yeah~ back to CS1 days? I hope so lol. It seems his strongest buff is they gave him his CS1 5B meaning it's back to that speed (it's so good...I beat Layth and several people using just 5B. Literally just using 5b) but I can't be confident from just the videos although Dora seemed to use it frequently... also for those that don't know the proration on 5B is really good...it gives him 4k combos meterless corner or semi-midscreen. And seeing Noel have to work for damage is nice for a change. Haven't seen Makoto in action...but maybe that says a lot more about her lol. EDIT: nvm it's confirmed 5B is back to CS1 5B. WOOT!!!

I haven't been playing bb much since marvel came out and ever since i started playing sf4. Really the only tourny I was actually ready for was the first MTN. I should practice more but I'm too lazy/busy. I'm kind of with astaroth I find MvC3/SF4 (in my case) more fun now and there is a larger community in TN for those games.

Caleb it's sad that you can't go beyond the simple and most obvious element about Iron Fist but it's ok I expect your mind to work that way. They captured him perfectly (although it's kind of hard to screw him up) and Vergil is definitely Vergil from DMC3:SE so I'm glad they preserved that in the marvel iteration of him and since he is from DMC by default he is going to be top tier lol.

Just letting you guys know it might be a while till you see me coming to any monthlies (as if my attendance isn't already scarce). I have to really focus on school, work, and research. Basically right now during the week if I'm not in class im doing research and when im not doing research im working so yeah no free time to practice playing videogames. So there will be one less salty person at MTNG tournies for a while...=/.

most of the time you can't even hear the sound coming from the T.V. and if you do it's all muffled because of all the noise people talking multiple t.v.'s mall activity etc. Guilty Gear would be fun to play I'd rather not do tournament though since I'd just be donating to charity plus I don't have a system that can play AC to practice on.

Still haven't gotten around to getting third strike been so busy with school. I'm not even going to bother right now. School, work, and research I hardly have any time to play fighting games let alone learn a new one.

Persona was awesome. BB guys know how to make a fighter and them making Persona fighting game is like a match made in heaven. This is great fan service for me I'm going to play it most def.

a) you can get full reps of H's from ROM into knockdown into hypergrav loop with otg assist. Some characters flip out after you do ROM especially small ones so it's harder to go into hypergrav loop from ROM the otg assist guarantees hypergrav loop on all chars plus makes execution easier. c)wesker is safe if you use shockwave fullscreen/midscreen into wesker's counter super. The shockwave protects him until he is done recovering from the counter super. Hell if it hits he can wavedash if midrange from the opponent into otg shot>combo. d)just an added bonus nothing necessary but i'd rather have an unblockable set-up than none at all since there is no reason to put wesker first and magneto second except that wesker can give magneto meter for gravity cheese but that's it. e) I can do that or a different reset after maximum wesker. Wesker actually recovers before the opponent does and you can actually teleport right to them little bit before they recover from the soft knockdown and call akuma assist again. So this reset has the bonus of the team hyper combo damage and fair oki. f)read f again... g)I have seen yipes win a tournament at guard crush or something few months after mvc3 was released but he doesn't play in many tournaments from what I've seen. This team has amazing synergy and not just that also versatility. If the main assist (akuma) dies wesker with em disruptor can still cross people up, If wesker gets beat up you gave either akuma or magneto meter, all three are great anchors, they all can combo from their airgrab w/o assists (crucial especially as anchor), can option select air throw (mag's is triangle dash down H, wesker is forward H or air gunshot (both great approaches), akuma is H tatsu like Chris G does with Ryu)

nah actually Magneto on point is better for a variety of reasons: a)he benefits from wesker's otg assist more to build meter for gravity cheese than wesker does from EM disruptor since I use tatsu assist to crossup with wesker anyways. b)can dhc glitch, can't from wesker to mag c) can dhc safely into wesker but not the other way around since mag's is punishable after doing shockwave or before magnetic tempest even comes out. d)overly defensive players are asking to be set-up by an unblockable with gun assist and mag's triangle jump aerials. (this hardly happens but it's for those people too afraid to press buttons since I have tatsu assist) e)if mag's dies wesker can do ridiculous damage with 2 meters by team hyper comboing with akuma to end his combos. f) mag's can build his own meter and wesker doesn't have to use meter plus he is a great battery so akuma comes in with 5 bars and x-factor level 3 yikes. g) and finally this is a common team on the east coast. Watch guard crush or any weekly/biweekly tournies on the east coast. Several people use this team because it has great synergy. I first saw Yipes use it. Sadly I wanted to play Mag and Wesker day 1 but they are just too good and a lot of the cast gets no love so I'm trying to keep my salt levels low and trying to play joe/deadpool/akuma seriously, but it's marvel so by serious I mean like an hour a week or w/e.
