Hungry Coils isn't a command grab. It's a hit grab and thus can be blocked and it's also burstable. No one bursts when they get hit by it because Hazama is too far away to get hit by a burst. I'm thinking maybe Distortions have a different SMP system versus specials and normals since they also have a different combo proration formula than specials and normals since CS1. The formula and the combo proration value of distortions in previous BB games made it so that no matter how prorated a combo was a distortion would do a fixed minimum damage regardless. @Bullet safe jump: Could you neutral tech and grab her? She must have at least a few frames of landing recovery from doing that kick attack. Is this safe jump set up only available in max heat up state? cause in all of the examples he had max heat. And maybe her command grab is like Tager's so it can be thrown lol.

If it is true then I guess Overdrive doesn't affect SMP, and maybe SMP isn't the same in this game as in other arcsys games. Or maybe supers have a different type of SMP?

We are talking about it being red beat when an attack connects after SMP special is used. In the vid you showed it was a legit red beat because the last hit was the SMP move.

Hmm I thought the game would indicate if teching was possible. It let's you know that a purple throw isn't a legitimate combo, I'm surprised it doesn't notify you of SMP the same way.

It never blue beats though. It has to be a true combo whether OD ignores SMP or not.

Yes it is. It red beats the whole time. SMP doesn't initiate instant teching it just sharply reduces untechable time. Chains have a lot of hitstun to begin with so they can take some SMP proration. Plus the 5C that starts the combo has great p1 proration so it makes it even more possible to connect SMP moves.

@Uri: The more you play Gear the better you will be at being aggressive and you will find yourself always plentiful of meter. The game rewards meter in more ways than BB, a scrub I-No is'nt going to be able to capture all that juicy meter you get from being offensive when you are still learning just how to not get hit.

You guys don't know Mr.Minionman?!!! He's the most famous DJ in the entire world. I have a story of when I first met him. I was at a fortune 10 Company party (props to Trojans Sponsorship) and I was just chillin with the 10 CEOs that run the world and DJ Mr.Minionman is bouncin his fro playing some hot tracks. The CEOs got so krunk off his tracks they got their 60 year old asses off the couch and attempted to dance with their mistresses' but it just ended up looking like dry humping.
