  1. I would guess that's because different characters have different crouching blocking hurtboxes, so the range at which you can 5b on various characters isn't the same. Strings you're used to doing on some won't work on others because of this -__- There are good things, like 2a 5a on block will work against some characters, like Relius, where 5a would whiff if they weren't already blocking. I think that's because attacks got more push back on hit and block (universal?).
  2. I'm in cote des neiges kind of close to plamondon and cote des neiges metro stations. Heartless is in longueuil, kinda far from the longueuil metro but there's some buses you can take Bibi is in st-leonard, it's a small bus ride from either saint michel or pie-ix metro stations.
  3. mmm wishlist... revert the input shortcut for supers. I guess it's one of those "be careful what you wish for" lol, it used to be you had to be precise while doing your super inputs. Now you have to be precise while doing any other input so you don't get super by accident (my inputs aren't very clean) :/ I would really appreciate it if they changed something on 6b's recovery. Either put it back to -1 on block, give it special cancel again, or give it a gatling into 5c Making 5b hit crouching opponents further would also be good, it would help our blockstrings a lot. At a certain distance, which isn't very far, the only jump cancel normal that hits crouching is 3c, which can't really go in to mixup, so it's a lot easier for the opponent to anticipate what we'll do next. Counter assault too pls, too easy to bait. Giving 5a more air untechable time would be awesome, enough to do 5a j.a. I would like a stable 5a anti air combo, as it is now, I usually do 5a 5b because it works on normal hit, but 5b whiffs if they're too high. 5a 2c would hit, but won't work unless it's a counterhit, so it's hard to commit to it, knowing you could get punished.

In related news, unib is coming out next week so if anyone wants to come over for casuals or to try it out, I'll be hosting thrusday, friday, and saturday maybe. I guess that sunday we could bring it to foonzo?

  7. I do both if I have the meter (in fact just 2c yata omo). iirc with the steins from your average corner combo, yata does 200~300 dmg, it can make a difference. I only use supers at the end of combos when going for the kill anyway.

  9. iirc there's a buffer similar to buttons, so probably 3f. The input for the dash itself is kind of lenient, it's just the second forward motion that needs to be timed well.

  14. Dash under barrier is really good against certain things, like jump cancels in pressure. Barrier makes you smaller and slides, so you don't have to worry about recovery.
  15. We were talking about it in the chat just now, I know you guys are all hype about going to see some women U-20 world cup soccer matches in august at the Olympic stadium. We were looking at the August 12th matches, there's Germany vs Brazil at 4pm, and then Canada vs North Korea at 7pm. Tickets are 10-45$ depending on where we sit. We'll probably make plans for it after evo, but just throwing it out there for now.
  16. Yeah, the explosion was mostly to show max damage (pre-super), the combo still works without it, where you'd do 3c laser hit j.2c instead. Though lately, I've been doing setups that create 4 steins after the j.2c ender anyway, so using the explosion doesn't seem like an issue any more.
  17. blocked 6b : 6c (usually whiffs if you instant block 6b) or 5d. it's -6 on normal block. after 5d it's usually either jump or DP. A few characters including carl can IB 6b then 5a which beats 6c (whiffs), nothing (punish), 5d jump (tags jump startup), and 5d DP (5a recovers before dp is active). It's not special cancel, only drive cancel, and its only gatling is 6c. Also, drive can be canceled into jump or specials. blocked 5c/2c : lots of stuff but most common would be 3c then jump cancel (100% safe but not much range), 6c (frame trap, also a projectile), delayed 5c or 2c (frame trap), 5d jump (100% safe I think), 5d 63214c (you can hit them out of it but if you try to react you'll do it too late and eat a 4k+ combo), 236a, 236d or 214d depending on stein placement (pressure resets), 63214c (frame trap)... I guess they can also do 63214b for a crossup but you should be able to block that on reaction or airthrow or anti air or whatever you want, it's unsafe on block. so blocked 5c/2c is usually safe and not worth trying to punish, and IB'd 6b is kind of unsafe.
  18. Anyone going to foonzo today? We weren't many last week, which is why I'm asking. instant block the second hit of mu's 6b and do 4a~b (as carl).
  19. Random find concerning mixup. We were talking about j.2c whiff mixup on skype (really low to the ground, animation clearly comes out, but never hits the opponent), where you'd then do a low or a throw since the opponent is waiting for the hitstop from the j.2c. So, with that in mind, I thought about testing it, and it seems that at a noticeably higher height you can get this weird animation+whiff stuff after a super jump, as opposed to a normal jump. One application I can find for this, is when you do a 3c SoD ender near the corner, I sometimes superjump forward j.b, because it's a safejump, but you can plug in a j.2c whiff nicely in there. I'll test it out a bit and see how it goes.
  20. no, do 2c as late as possible. you want to use 6a's long untechable time, so that you can get the laser to fire slightly after 2c hits.
