About Friday's meetup, it would be nice if people could bring consoles. We have 3~5 screens available, but I only have one copy of Xrd. It would also be nice if people could bring their arcade sticks, since kinda often we're short on sticks. Hosting tonight too! Show up around 7:30 at the earliest.

Weekly News Post Meetup Friday : special Christmas edition. Hope to see lots of you, week one of xrd so we'll prob do an exhibition of some sort, but I also want to keep playing other games. Weekly News Post Just letting you guys know we'll be hosting our weekly meetup again this Friday, 6:30pm onward, as usual. I also would like to organize a Christmas party of some sort, tentative date is next Friday, the 19th, 6pm. I don't really know how it'll be different than a normal meetup, but I'm open to ideas. I think gift exchange or group supper would be too complicated to organize and not worthwhile. Maybe a big game of 10 player Coup/Avalon? Maybe an Xrd exhibition of sorts? No tournaments... Maybe.

Yo, Dora's going to be at NEC, figured I might have to face him at some point this weekend, so I was looking at my match against him from evo, to try and see what I should fix. Think I did a bit better in the second match, but still not enough. (note that I injured my left index a few days before, so was using a weird layout, but result would have been similar imo) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkHalBZzgMI#t=8527 So real quick what I got from that is that my go-to plan against bang has a lot of airthrows and j.2c, but he was really good at countering or avoiding them, so I should be way more careful with them. Should probably jump less at neutral, or at least delay them a bit, so I'm not always above him, where j.c is weak. I should probably disrespect him at least a bit more in pressure, more buttons/reversals/jumping, less backdashes, he seems to use dashing + normals really well to cover that option. Not sure about how I should use IB/barrier, was trying to focus on reacting to overheads. Also, need to be more careful of poison nails heh. Any other advice?

Weekly News Post NEC is right around the corner, and I'm still hungry for games (bb, gg, uniel, dfc). Busy tonight, but we'll be hosting Tuesday 7-11pm, and Wednesday 7-?? pm (we're leaving for NEC Thursday). For those wondering about the ride split for NEC, have to clear up some details and then we're good. GGXrd's Japanese version is coming out this week. I believe it should be out Wednesday but I'm not sure. I'm getting it, dunno who else is. NA release is like 2 weeks later so there's no rush if you want to save a bit. For "mains" I'd stick with a small number of characters, or those you'd use in tournament. Can't be updating this list every few days for everyone. An idea would be to split GG+R and GGXrd, I'm not planning on playing the same characters but we'll see. Could have the benefit of helping people who aren't sure who to play find a character that isn't played. (hopefully it doesn't have the reverse effect. ffs if there's 16 characters it's OK that you're the 5th Sol player) I guess this kinda goes against what I just said, concerning editing the post, since new game so people change mains a lot, but whatever. Interests. Lol. We could put one if people want to say something about themselves, I guess. Can be a joke or something. I mean the point here isn't really to promote ourselves individually, but just to seem like a group of nice and open people.

Reminder that we're hosting again tonight 7pm-11pm, as well as tomorrow 6:30pm onwards. After that...not Saturday, maybe Sunday, not Monday, most likely Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. Of course, there is no meetup Friday next week because we'll be at NEC.

Bringing 2 monitors, 1 console with BB&GG&UNIEL, 1 console with BB&GG&DFC&AH3&UNIEL (and p4u2 but no dlc). Oh ok, pretty sure I've seen assist switches in JP team tournaments (no idea if that's comparable though). Cool with either, just wanted it to be clear before the tournament.
