The main reason why GG is teams & pokemon style is because it goes very fast. We haven't run monthlies in so long, I have no idea how much people will show up, and since people may have work on Monday, I don't want to finish too late. I also really want to run a double elimination Blazblue singles tournament, and that game takes forever (there will most likely be a gg casuals station during the bb tournament, in addition to the cabs). If it does however finish super early, might switch it to double elimination, but we'll see. I also prefer teams to singles for a lot of other reasons, I really hope this won't stop anyone from coming though. If you don't have a partner just show up and team up with someone else who doesn't have one (worst case, I'm not teaming up til everyone else has a teammate). Keep in mind, this is kind of a test in the sense that we'll take feedback and hopefully make the next one better. In a way, this may be our farewell Accent Core tournament, so assuming next month we have +R, it'll most likely be the game we run first. Way more hype for this now! -

So, confirming it once more, the Monthly Mashfests are back, and the first one is this Sunday! Return of the Monthly Mashfests, August Edition Where : Foonzo (1245 rue Drummond, Montreal) When : Sunday August 4th, 6 PM Stream : twitch.tv/bibiquadium Games : Blazblue CSE : singles, Double Elimination, 2/3 matches, 1$ entry, winner takes all! GGXXAC+ : 2v2 teams, single elimination, pokemon style, free entry, prize for the winners! (teams are not random) ...maybe something else if we have time, depending on attendance. We'll start with blazblue and follow with guilty gear. Let us know if you'll be late, as we want to start at 6pm sharp. The idea is that since there are a lot of people in our scene but everyone has a different schedule and other things to do, it would be nice if once a month everyone could commit to one evening of competition. Anyways, spread the word. This first one is mostly a test to see how much people show up, and to better organize the following ones, in preparation for BBCP (and maybe +R but it could be years). The next one will most likely be in September, so I hope to see you all this Sunday! I bet you pot split with the coin, collusion everywhere omg. -

JFL da god. I'll be at foonzo kinda late tonight again. Also, for those that missed it, if you thought FG salt was bad... http://www.chess.com/blog/billwall/sore-losers-in-chess -

It's back! Gundam hm... Air what about having the meetups on either Tuesday or Sunday, but early like 4-6pm. Most BB/GG players arrive around 6-7 anyways iirc, so if the few that arrive earlier and don't play gundam know ahead of time, they could always change their plans to arrive a bit later? For sundays, as long as it's not the same weekend as the mashfests it should be ok. Yo is that Soul Calibur JFL? http://i.imgur.com/nvLTSZL.jpg -

I hope you guys don't need to take the green line, it looks pretty bad : https://twitter.com/stm_Verte/status/359779224493625345 In case you didn't know, instead of getting off at Peel station on the green line, Bonaventure or Lucien L'Allier on the orange line are pretty close to Foonzo too. edit: oh not as bad as it could have been https://twitter.com/stm_Verte/status/359781684306124802 -

I'll be there around 8 tonight, I'll play whatever. -
Evo was great. Vegas is impressive. Persona was hype, too bad I couldn't enter :< Not going to be dumb, and pre-registering next year for sure! Shoutouts to Leo, Kousaka, Zeero, Goa, was nice rooming with you. Shoutouts to meeting and fighting my Mu bros, it's nice to see how we all play this character so differently. Shoutouts to the others I played casuals with too, Shynsyn, Amadeous, Grover, Roldy... Shoutouts to LPT, Mindgame, Bill307, Ryan Ken, and the others we just wandered around the strip looking for Chipotle loll, good discussions though Shoutouts to the others who helped run and/or stream the BB/GG side tournaments (especially Shtkn), those who entered the those side tournaments, congrats to those that placed well, let's keep supporting our games!

I also found the motivation to start running Monthly Mashfests again. We'll discuss it before I finalize the details, but I want to create a regular monthly event that everyone can grind for, and specifically plan on attending. For the first one, I'm thinking about playing it safe, going with a 1$ entry BB singles double elimination tournament, followed by a free entry teams guilty gear tournament with a prize. Tentative date is August 4th and it would start at 5PM. May add more games or change formats to the following ones, but I have no idea what the attendance would be. It's usually small on a Sunday, but I know that there's a lot of people in the scene that only come once every few weeks so it could also be really big. "official announcement" soon, when I finalize the details. @Leo : cool I'll check it out next time, it'll give me another reason to explore that side of the strip. I'll try to convince them, I got some stories that I'll tell in person, but really it's hard to describe everything in Vegas correctly. You really can't believe everything until you see it for yourself. @DerQ : oh right you're not taking the bus anymore, ok we'll see. Alternatively we could just go early and JP could meet up with you there. Anyways, up to you, it's a long drive and you don't want to take any wrong turns. -

Evo and Vegas are really fun. I hope some of you are planning on coming next year, it would be really nice to go as a group, especially if BBCP is a main game. I'd say it costs total 1k minimum if you eat kinda cheap and don't gamble, so you need to budget this one ahead. Oh yeah reminder, Jason's having his birthday at Sake Bar (place where he works now I think) on Friday. Just me and derq so far are planning on going. Anyone else? -

So, was anyone going to show up tonight for some last minute evo practice? I can be there at like 8:15. Else I'll just stay home, take it easy, grind some combos, pack my stuff, get some sleep... -

Just booked my flight to evo. I'm leaving Thursday evening, and I need to take care of a few things at my place on Tuesday, so anyone want to meet up Wednesday at Foonzo for some last minute practice. I can be there at like 8:15 or so, after class. -

Did some ah3 training mode yesterday, you two should try it too, the combos are fun and the wiki is helpful. Jason's having his birthday party at Sake Bar on the 19th, I think it's the restaurant where he works now. I'm most likely going to go, have a package for him, anyone else interested? -
So... I've been talking about doing this for a while, and I finally did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OkF9XP32vg (corner) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02PH_9_DMq8 (midscreen) Let me know if there's anything I should fix or add to the video description. I'll make them public this weekend, and then maybe try to get them on DL and SRK's front page.

Gore was great, big thanks to our host DerQ and shoutouts to everyone who came. Not sure if I'm going to foonzo tonight, pretty tired, if I go I'm not staying too late. Was anyone planning on going? -

For BBCP? Check the combo videos (listed in the video thread) if you want the most optimal they've found so far. In matches you see even the better players often going for easier combos, but yeah Oboro is a good bet. If you meant BBCSE, check the wiki.

http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium/b/420950499?t=4h47m55s wow you can hear the reaction so clearly Shoutouts and GGs to everyone that came out tonight. Bonne Saint Jean baptiste. The way the whole 6v6 happened was rather unexpected tbh. Trying to find unbiased concept teams, north vs south or east vs west is ok, but I think next time I'll try something else, old vs young maybe? Let me know if you have any ideas. -

I know my mom, who's really badly allergic to some animals, has reacted to hypoallergenic dogs. About the food, I say we better check who's willing to cook what first.
