GGs last night guys, especially in GG. Actually spending time in training mode made me appreciate playing this game a bit more, next time I'll set it up earlier. Still gotta find a way to calm those tourney nerves, I thought about it during the bus ride home after, and I think I got something. I'll make a thread and post tournament results later tonight. Congrats to level5-chan and airmaster for winning our first weekly random teams tournaments. Please give me feedback on the format and the way things were run. Don't complain about the start time though, next time we'll have a power bar so that shouldn't happen again. Is anyone going to foonzo this evening?

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention matches will be best out of 1, because it's like that in team tournaments. I'm thinking about going for the Waseda format (A vs A, B vs B, A vs B for tiebreaker) as opposed to the Pokemon format (A vs A, A vs B, if not OCV B vs B), and locking characters as well as order.

lol short notice? I've been trying to get these started since CS2 came out, but never got any response except from an occasional "yeah we could" and never really on the thread. So either people didn't care or are tldring my posts. I think I will do it anyways, so that people on facebook who don't check this thread will be notified. I can't really depend on people to read the thread for info, I don't think many of us read every post. But honestly you should make yourself an acc if only for that. You can set your privacy as high as steb (ok maybe not AS high) and you won't get bothered at all by it. You'll even be able to make the same joke as him. (my privacy settings are so high, if you tag me in one of your pictures, even you won't be able to see it anymore)

I know that feeling. btw I am unsatisfied with the videos we have of Mu vs Lambda, either it looks like a bad matchup and there doesn't look like there's an effective way to deal with her zoning, or there's something missing. It's like at neutral a good guess gets you slightly closer while a bad guess will put you in a bad situation and with less healh.

I'm curious about the fuzzy because I haven't actually thought of working with this yet. Watching the evo grand finals showed me that you really need some kind of unreactable overhead to defeat players that have a too strong defense.

Well the room should be around 150 per night divide it by 6 people and multiply by two nights so 50$ for the room. Add a 25$ venue fee, 10$ tournament fees, around 20$ for gas, and let's say 50$ of food, so something around 160$. The thing is we'd be 6, so I'll have to get in touch with MTLSF to see if they have room in one of their cars, because 6 just doesn't fit (I'd ask steb if he doesn't mind, he's more familiar with them), but then again people sometimes end up choking so we'll see.

kr3wman is pablo lol, my name is Pedro but I never went to netchamp, didn't really play back then. Awesome, more people! I think we have a good variety of player skill level, you can usually find someone to play with no matter how good or bad you are. We bring our own consoles and controllers, and often when someone brings a console they bring enough controllers for others. We usually bring some PS3s and an Xbox, I think we still have a mostly ps3 pad players.

You should probably also take out the links to our sub forum, all the relevant info from there is later in your post. You could also remove the link to the monthly tournament thread, we haven't had one in forever, but I hope we'll be running weekly tournaments from now on.

I don't think I know you, there must be many people that go by Pedro here... but then again maybe I know you... but anyways, the place on De Gaspé closed down a few weeks ago, so now we go to the place on drummond. We've been meeting up consistently twice a week, on thursdays and sundays, and really often on tuesdays, and whenever else people want to. We just post here "I'm going to foonzo tonight is anyone else coming?" and usually someone says something. Foonzo is a pretty nice place, it's a cafe with TVs and consoles, so we bring our consoles (for cs2 lol) and sticks, but they also have many xbox-arcade-cab-setups. This is almost purely netplay tactics, but if you mash 2A while bang is doing a blockstring you'll often beat his overhead and command grab attempts. If he goes low you will eat a frame trap. I actually tend to do this sometimes offline as well. I'll do it during their first blockstring of the game, not do it in the following one, and from there I'll judge if it's a good idea to keep mashing that 2A and at what frequency. It's always good to make your opponent worry about his offense, mix this in with DPs after blocked D-nails/5B and you should be good for a while against many bangs. Then again this is from CS1 I'm not sure if this has changed in CS2, I've barely played this matchup since. edit : yup, outdated.

Nini, would you be able to upload a game that was recorded with your setup (or link me something that was already recorded with it) so I can check if it's satisfying? Does your laptop have a mic? I'll lend you guys some money for foonzo food if you guys show up, I'll just add it to what you guys already owe me. (it's around 15-20$, for gas and two suppers) Nini you should walk to Foonzo if you don't have a pass, it's not that far. I want this week's tourney to be a success so we keep doing them.
