  1. Nice, how does the combo system feel to you Jackie? It's been a little too simple for me but i'm trying to get myself to accept such things out of Marvel-type games. Doing more lab-work with Valentine when I get a chance this weekend.
  2. I agree with you Milln. I've been practicing almost every chance I get with her and I honestly can't see a problem with her. That command grab is god status, her mid-screen damage is good, and overall, I love the shit out of her! I can't really see where her problems are but I could see how getting in on people with her is a major thing. Though, I have no problems with this at all. After a lot of labbing I think I know the team i'm ready to start testing match-ups and start playing with. Billy Kane/Elizabeth (Athena if I have to deal with certain characters)/EX Kyo or Mr. Karate (I'm really struggling on what to do in deciding which of these two I want to use). Billy Kane has the pokes, meter gain, and corner lock-down that I want in my starting characters. I really want to press this time around making my opponent respect my pressure as opposed to just mashing out because it looks good at the time. I want Elisabeth just because I want a character who gets high reward off of baiting and properly punishing people for their mistakes (and or mashing, running, or other bs). Then, Ex Kyo or Mr. Karater to finish the job. Hm, i'll finish my lab-work this weekend and have a clear cut idea of who I want to move forward with. What do you think?
  3. I was enjoying SkullGirls, that was, until I actually fought the other characters. The game feels extremely mashy. It's a shame since i'm really enjoying Valentine but whatever. Dive into a game, give it a few days, then we keep it moving onto the next. Anyways, been trying out Liz for a while now and I have to say that i'm enjoying her a lot. Remember how I said I wanted to move to a more poke and punish type character, Naimat? She's fitting what I wanted perfectly. Saw the combo video argument. Anyone who thinks combo videos are pointless are...wow, stay free. Any combo that can get above 2/4 life within a reasonable amount of meter is definitely worth it. If you see what damage your character can deal as opposed to what you're doing, then it shows you need to up your execution. They only become irrelevant if you lack the execution to a point where they can't be performed by you, yourself. So yeah...

  5. Well, he did also play multiple builds with many other players to help make sure it was as balanced as possible. I'm downloading it now as we type. @Naimat: Wish you could've told me sooner. Could've kept the car today. Might still get it if she's home early enough, i'm not promising anything though.

  7. I'm not doubting that he probably does. But if you noticed when I had many of the problems I did have with Kof, the one who was able to give me the most logical responses was indeed you. Whether he knows more or not, i've seen and listened to you resond to things more often. So naturally I would ask this person over someone who just puts "this" and "they are a good character" or "Do I need to explains things to you too" without really explaining anything at all. Plus, even if you aren't right about something it still sometime gives me a general idea of what's happening. It's just all about who i've seen and heard more, and i've never once actually talked in-depth all the way down to mechanics with Milln yet. So yeah, take it as you will. Hm, when I was setting the team order I was basing it off of who required meter more. I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate but it seems to be so. I've got no problems with the combos, but if Ex Kyo is having trouble with Match-ups then it mght be better to go with Mr Karate on point. I might even think about switching out Nests Kyo if him as anchor can't get the job done, still got Yuri and Mai for ancho after all. Also, if I know a Mai 99% almost completely by heart could she make a more viable anchor than Ex Kyo? Plus I thought about a bit of Elisabeth too so I might want to squeeze her in there somewhere.
  8. Well, Naimat seems to be generally more knowledgable about the game. Plus I kind of trust what he has to say over you, so yeah... Also, when did I ever say it was a fighting game?
  9. Yo Naimat, what's your opinion on this team right here: Mr. Karate/Athena/Ex Kyo? @Milln- If I had had the money yesterday I would've picked up graces instead of Kof. That game is too good, dodged a bullet this time.

  12. Notice that's why I said his neutral game was weak. EVERYTHING you said defines a weak neutral game. Yeah. he only needs to screw up once to be punished but he has great reward off most of his hit-confirms and his combos are GOOD. The thing you were saying that when he gets combo'ed he has to find his way back in, to be honest, that's a given for anyone who has to fight a good zoning character. Mitsuru has the same problem against Naoto, and so does Chie.
  13. Aegis has a decent pink color scheme. I think Elizabeth has one as well. Not sure about everyone else though.
  14. The only thing that I hear about Akihiko is that he's bad at neutral, nothing else. He has really good combos, mix-ups, and over-all tools in general, he is not a bad character.
  15. Well, it's a bit too early to judge this for sure. Since she has so many tools it's definitely going to be a while (and by a while I mean about four or five months) to discover her true meta-game. From what it looks like it seems that she has a variety of playstyles to choose from. Also, Aika most likely is the last character for P4U.
  16. Even though I can see her shooting those bowls she has as projectiles similar to Aegis and Bang. If she does have a persona, which I doubt, I can see it appearing out of her little delivery box. OMG, the hype keeps building. Screw every game that isn't P4U, I want it, I want it NOW!!

  22. Actually. it's bias if i've only played one of the games and have little to no knowledge of the other game and am only making my statements off of what i've seen and heard, not actual fact. This makes the case of bias irrelevent seeing as i've played all the games of both series. If you want to argue that me down-playing one game over another is bias even though they are similar then that is incorrect. If both games are similar, then that means obviously the game that could invoke the implied design and satisfaction that the publishers intended towards it's audience would win. For example, Tales of and Star Ocean game: Both are RPGs which we all can say are generally similar. Now, because we agree that they are similar here is a time where you take the two and figure out which is better *Both have storylines designed toward drawing in RPG gamers (TO has a better story) *Fighting mechanics and accessibility of gameplay (TO has an overall faster pace and overall more engaging battle system. I will say on this issue that older TO games would be outclassed by SO in terms of Technical skill required, but current TO's out today go on par in terms of technicality) *Graphics (This is one thing I have to give SO, the game looks pretty damn beautiful) In conclusion, both are good RPGs. Probably the best on the market today. But, TOs do everything a SO game does except faster and better.
