  1. I will do it for you this weekend. Tonight i might come to foonzo by bike, so i would not be able to take your stick with me, unfortunately. Maybe thursday or we can meet on another day so i can take it from you, and make sure you have it before you leave. As for the cable, it will take me a half hour to do the testing and crimping so i can do that anytime, dont worry about it.
  2. i don't main Strider Shishigami for nothing, you know !
  3. Just wanted to point out something from a few pages back (had alot of reading to do) shorter combos in blazblue actually makes faster rounds and less timeouts. A CS1 Litchi combo that does 4k could easily take 15 seconds. But now she can do 3x2k combos mid screen in those same 15 seconds Proration on long combos always makes for long aggravating matches. Don't look at the corner comboing scenario negatively, and you might find some good in it. For example, in Kendo you have to always move forward, if you take a step back, out of fear or for spacing, you will pay for it in the immediate future because that's ground you will have to work to get back. I was the first person to complain about corner combos when CS2 was announced, but gaining ground and holding your ground are skills in themselves; in martial arts, in life and in games.
  4. GGs to everyone ! Shoutouts to Pedro for getting us to finally start doing weekly events, would never have come to this without you. 5. I think maybe what Kirby means is, good reaction time, good execution and good lab work can get you far in MvsC3, just like the other games those top players are from. However you rarely have to deal with the craziness in MvsC3 in those other games, the assists and x-factor are just examples. Personally i agree that reaction time, execution and creative combo building fundamentals are going to make someone excel in any game.
  6. Oh man, my apologies Pedro, i just woke up.. i fell asleep when i sat down after getting home from work. it's 9 o'clock now and i doubt anyone's checking the thread, but if you do, im really sorry. I hope you guys have a blast, though ! (i guess 5 hours of sleep a night isnt enough)
  7. im probably going to be there tonight, too
  8. I will try to come tomorrow, and yea i can do the neutrik jack for you, but you just gotta drill 2 tiny little holes if you're replacing your select button. If you have a controller for the console in question, i can make the system cable for you. Just let me take it home so i can test the wires (can't use colors unfortunately, have to find the pinout, every controller is different, even among the same brand). Also, if i do come tomorrow, i will try to bring the tools to shave the edges of your buttons properly, so they can fit in all the way. I will also bring Brice's empty micro-switchless buttons so that we can take out your xbox coloured ones. yomi de gozaru !
  9. I discussed it with Steb and the Qanba sticks are the best way for him to get the most for his money. It won't have PS2 but we seem to be getting more and more PS2 compatible sticks as we move forward. Ive used the Qanba sticks, as well, theyre very well built, it's a good buy. And we can always make something of his special case, in time. I always check the forums, let me know ! Edit: this is mostly because lizard lick doesnt have the boards he needs in stock, and would have to wait until the end of summer to get them.
  10. Sorry Pedro, been riding alot past weeks. I haven't touched my PS3 in ages. Ill try to pass by in the near future. I need me some bubble tea anyways !
  11. My Bike has ABS breaking too ! And some other bikes have very sophisticated traction control to keep your rear tire from slipping and etc. But you REALLY don't need any of that garbage, trust me. Learning to control the bike yourself without any gadgetry involved is EXTREMELY important. @UMVC3: ... ... ... .... let's play Blazblue.
  12. So yeah, anyway, down to business. KAERUUU, super awesome human-but-not-asian-real-life Bang, I seek your guidance. Once my paycheck kicks in, I'll have spare money for some fun, meaning that I'm finally gonna get down to ordering my PS3 stick's parts. But I would like to be able to play on 360 (and even PS2 if that's possible) and I know that you are the one I could rely on when it comes to double/triple modding. Would it be possible for you to help me in the upcoming 2 weeks? Sorry for the very late response. If i understood Pedro correctly you have a PS3 Madcatz SE ? that is a stick that will be a bit expensive to mod. Unless you really like the size (some people prefer it). The Q4 that Pedro linked you to is the cheapest most practical way to get a PS3/Xbox360 stick with Sanwa parts. But you can forget about PS2 compatibility. If you do really want to keep your SE we could mod it for multi console, but you will need an xbox fightpad, MC Cthulhu, imp 2.0 and ethernet jack. Not counting the buttons that's about 120$ the Sanwa buttons are a bit under 4$ each and a joystick should be around 20-25$ not counting shipping. EDIT: It is a sports bike. To be Touring it would have to have handlebars instead of clip-ons and a different kind of seat. However, luckily for me, the government doesnt classify it as a dangerous motorcycle (probably because it's a V-Twin). For me, V-Twin sports bikes are the most awesome and most fun to ride. quick run down: in-line 4 cylinder bikes: extreme top speed, slower acceleration at low RPM, exponentially faster acceleration at high RPM V-Twin bikes: lower top speed, max power throughout the RPM range and very strong acceleration throughout the RPM range. special bikes: Speed Triple from Triumph make an in-line 3 cylinder engine, that is somewhere between the characteristics of in-line 4 and V-Twin BMW make a 2 cylinder Boxer engine. The purest most Idealistic engine for a bike, it's impractical in terms of shape, but it's a piece of ART. Aprilia make a V4 engine that is the god of all motorcycle engines on the planet.
  13. :D maybe next year when you're practicing for your final road test i can help you get some practice. here are some pics of my trip towards charlevoix. pic1 pic2 Also.. Just wait until you start taking curves on a bike. There's nothing in this world like it.
  14. The SAAQ questions are ALLLLLLL trick questions. You need serious foresight to answer them correctly. The best trick is to do a pretest from your motorcycle school. They should have it on a CD. The way they ask the multiple choice questions all the answers are correct. All 4 of them. You have to choose the one they want to hear, magically. Don't get discouraged, it sometimes takes 2 shots. Study hard and try to understand the point of the different situations they want you to be prepared for. Most of the correct answers are based on principle. 250cc ninja bike is soso for learning on, but you're not going to like it at all. It's stupidly uncomfortable. and if it's from 1985 then i just hope the clutch and throttle are smooth or it will be a bad experience for you. Nevertheless i learned to ride on crappy stuff like that, though a 250cc Honda Shadow makes a better learning bike then a 250cc kawi ninja. Im a Suzuki fanboy, i love my SV650, and Suzuki make some epic cruisers too if you prefer cruiser type bikes. When you pass your parking test and you need a designated driver to ride with, i should be able to take you on starting from May next year. I loved Ehrgeiz, it was soooo awsm when it came out For the throw combo, or any combo for that matter, in the corner; the idea is to use one of each super crash once. If you did TK super crash first, youd have to land and do 5b 623b again after to make sure you use the ground version too. Followed by pickup air combo finisher of your choice. It's a matter of how you want to finish the combo, im not sure which could net you more damage. Bang has some extreme combo freedom now, everything has a merit. If you are strictly looking for max damage there is probably a specific combo for you, but sometimes Oki, Tech Trap opportunities and Seals are also factors that could make different combo paths useful. My favourite throw combo in corner: throw -> d.6D, 623B, 2b, 5d, j.4C, j.C. Very crappy damage, but 2 seals instead of 1. Damage wise, i believe the challenge combo with the throw is by far the best damage you can get off corner throw. Maxing damage with Heat, if you throw with Heat near corner, RAPID CANCEL IMMEDIATELY. The damage you can get with a rapid canceled throw is REALLY good because of proration values of Throw being first hit. The rapid must be done as soon as the game lets you, before bang comes in for the kick. I'm pretty sure Blade, Rhanmmah, Pedro and myself are very interested in GG, and others as well. We were playing it more then BB 2 months ago. When we had to scrap for sticks. Now we have a few working PS2 sticks, so it can only get better!
  15. This is SO perfect, bless this man and thank you lythium for linking.
  16. No one would be annoyed at that. I thank you for saying it again. I will come to HQ on Thursday, but i haven't completed my training yet so it will it be more to see you guys then to give you matchup xp.
  17. Was it 10Stars, Brice? he's very good, probably better then i am. I'll give you more practice when we see each other next time. I'm surprised you played Tager though. Respect+2. Edit: Still waiting for your controller, i believe it's held up in the postal strike.
  18. We are in a socialist country. Welcome, comrade. Toppa Tengen Guren Lagann. I didn't know what was going to happen and it was one of the most twisted messed up moments i've had watching an anime. Never saw it coming. Needless to say, watch it.
  19. i have not received it yet, it was shipped without tracking info, so i can't check up on it. But don't worry i can always hang the seller out to dry. In the meantime, sorry to make you wait. As for the art, do what makes you happy, if it is well executed i won't hate on it ! Maybe i should make my second stick Baiken oriented too, just to defend her honor.
  20. Pedro, i like the first pic a bit better, but don't let that opinion sway your decision !! As for more objective advice, it looks good, but make sure that background is still really nice at 100% zoom in photoshop at 300 dpi. If you need a better picture or need to make it smaller, you want that background to look crisp. It'll make a really nice contrast wth pixelated Mu. Lookin' good ! EDIT: I had to add this, my favourite pictures of Mu have been when you complete arcade mode and you see the 4 or 5 still images of her being born from the cradle of wings in the sky. If it were up to me, i'd try to make the stick look like a manga panel, inside the bezel, with each of those still images inside. I'm not sure if you know what i mean. It would be hard to setup in a way where the stick and buttons wouldnt get in the way though.
  21. Thanks for everything MTLSFHQ, were going to miss you. And thank you Cranky for putting up with it for so long. It's really sad to see it end. All in all i'd rather go to foonzo then anywhere else if we don't have HQ.
  22. hehe, an intentionally pixelated artwork might look very very good on an Arcade stick ! I've seen some nice stuff with comic book dots and halftone patterns, i'm sure something cool with pixels can be done !
  23. Most important stuff for you to know: First, don't start without the right template, reformatting artwork is painful and time consuming. So, get the right template from his website for the setup you want. Second, don't get confused with Plexi panel replacements, those do not involve artwork, what you want is a full/extended or normal plexi cover. Third, get the HIGHEST resolution possible. A full plexi is HUGE, it's very difficult to get art that looks good at that size with sprites and internet pics. One solution is to go for the normal plexi that allows you to keep the bezel, this is a bit smaller and more comfortable to use and the bezel is often a beautiful frame for most artworks. But even the normal plexi is very big and getting the highest resolution you possibly can is crucial. Ideally when you paste pictures into his template, you do not want to have to blow them up (though sometimes we don't have a choice). Everything else along the way i can talk to you about when we see each other at meetups. If your joystick feels used, the best bet is to change the spring, but i dont think your spring is overused yet. If your buttons do not feel right, i have alot of spare microswitches from Sanwa. I can sell you some of them, itll be cheaper to just change the switches than replacing with new buttons. But if you're getting artwork done, you will probably want to change your buttons to match the artwork, so this is something you should hold off on until you know what color scheme you're going for. hope that helps !
