  1. CONGRATS BRICE !!! so happy for ya ! I will bring MY COPY OF GGAC+! (feels good to say it :D) and another surprise. But i might only get to HQ for 6-7 o clock. I haven't slept at all last night so i don't think ill be the source of any interesting matches tonight sadly. Nini: we miss you already !
  2. why watch the game when you can play the game !
  3. BTW, since brice is opening HQ on thursday after 6pm, who will be coming?
  4. DAMN, im sorry to hear it man.. your best bet is to take it to an apple store with your bill if possible. They're good with stuff like this usually.
  5. Thanks for the AWESOME VID Rhanmah. Man i'm not sure which yozansen i like more between the old and the new. And those cherry blossoms are glorious. Can't wait to learn to play Baiken. I hope my boards come in the mail so i can add PS2 to my stick. Already got my copy of GGAC+.
  6. I'll be heading to HQ after work. Let us know when it's open !
  7. i won't be able to make it, i have some important errands to run that can't wait, unfortunately. But i'll be there tomorrow. What time are we meeting up tomorrow (Friday) anyway?
  8. it was a pleasure to be your opponent ! let's have more FITE
  9. I have some bad news, a very unforeseeable emergency is going to prevent me from leaving my home for the next 3-4 hours I know i said i'd be there for 1 pm but it's impossible for me. I am really sorry this is totally unplanned BS happening, i'll leave as soon as i can. Sorry Pedro/Brice
  10. maybe the fridge could somehow be locked so only founders can open it? that way a founder can make sure the person taking the drink will pay? i dunno if this is a good idea, i'm just brainstorming outloud. Also we should all clean up before leaving on the days we go to the HQ. maybe stop playing 20 minutes earlier and bring the trash down with us as we leave the place. I'm willing to help with this.
  11. Yea, RJ45 is the ideal plug to use with the old Multi Console Cthulhu because it needs 8 wires for all consoles. The best thing to do is to get extension cables for the consoles you want and cut off the female end and replace it with a male RJ45. Odds are the consoles you make won't need all 8 wires. PS2 for example only needs 7, Xbox360 and PS3 only need 4, etc. The layout of the RJ45 is very important so it goes to the right places inside the stick. You could get started with that if you wanted. There are many different kinds of RJ45 cables. The most popular ones are in the link i gave you last time, the ones made by Neutrik.
  12. I would be there if you opened at 1 pm, but i don't mind later either. We can discuss what you need to do in person if you want to use the kittyboards, but since you have the Blazblue version, you NEED to wait for his next generation. The TE-S, Blazblue and i think Marvel Madcatz sticks use a different PCB so that the start and select can work with the lock switch. It won't work with his current Kitty board, but he's working on another one for those PCBs.
  13. On the subject of PS2, last month Toodles made a new board that i didn't know about until today. http://shoryuken.com/f177/official-kitty-class-boards-thread-268272/ Basically anyone with an Xbox360 TE can very easily make their stick multi console. I can help with this it looks maddeningly easy.
  14. http://shoryuken.com/content/guilty-gear-accent-core-plus-collector-s-package-european-market-4153/ keep in mind this must me PAL since it's UK.
  15. Especially on the dude who keeps our venue open and travels there twice a week from a bumpkin town, and never misses a day.
  16. Basically with my own stick, i did it the harder way, without using those pre-designed boards with perfectly setup screw down terminals. I drew lines off all relevant solder points from my PS3 TE to a terminal strip i installed inside of it, then i padhacked an Xbox360 fightpad and lead it's buttons to that terminal strip as well. Then instead of the Imp i used a USB hub. To add the PS2 now is somewhat easier, all i have to do is padhack a dualshock1 controller and bring it's leads to the same terminal strip. The hardest part will be replacing my USB with a more universal DB9 9pin plug. I can't use RJ45 like in the tutorials i linked you guys to because you NEED to use the Multi-Console chip to get away with only needing 8 pins. The ONLY advantage to doing things the old skool way like i did is that i don't need to hold down a button to change consoles, and i managed to retain the silly turbo and RS DP LS switch which we never use in fighter games anyway. And i don't instantly have access to gamecube, dreamcast, super nintendo, etc systems for free, like the multi-console chip provides.
  17. i was looking over the various parts needed, and a very rough estimate of cost would be: • 35$ - for unassembled multiconsole board (needs to be put together) • 9$ - for unassembled Imp board (needs to be put together) • 5$-15$ - Then add on to that shipping of said parts, anywhere between 5-15$ for Canada i'm assuming • 5$-20$ - Then there is consumables; solder, braid, wire, zipties, hot glue, connectors (the really fancy Neutrik RJ45 Pass through is 11$+shipping, otherwise consumables are cheap) • 0-15$ - Shipping again for the special connectors if you want something that looks really nice, otherwise i can get all my consumables at my electronics shop. • 5-10$ x per console - Extension cables for all the consoles you could possibly want + RJ45 connector to go with it, this is variable but can be very cheap. I got a PS2 extension cable for 5$ on ebay shipped • X$ - Unforeseeable costs, shit always happens. • X$ - Labor, I don't know how long it will take me to do the entire mod. It's not complicated and since i've done it the "hard way" with my own stick already this should be smoother. Including drilling if necessary depending on your option select and careful planning to not mess anything up. I'm leaning towards the 50$ mark if someone asked me to do the mod for them. • - Tools. I wouldnt charge for tools since they're 1 time buys and i have everything i need. But if you're going to tackle this project you need to take this into account. Here are all the information resources you might need to understand what the mod involves in case you want to try your hand at it: http://shoryuken.com/f177/rj-45-mc-cthulhu-imp-xbox-360-dual-mod-tutorial-diagram-225565/ the Prequesites section in the beginning has other tutorials that can fill you in on the more minor details of padhacking or general dual modding. And the end has a link to making system cables to work with an RJ45 jack. when i look at it all, it seems expensive, so give it some hard thought. Another thing to consider is Sanwa buttons from japan are around 3.50$(x8=28$) each and a JLF sanwa joystick is around 27,50$. In otherwords, getting a cheap stick and upgrading to sanwa parts is around 55$+another 25$ shipping. That's already 80$ ! not counting the price of said cheap stick. Edit: I have every intention of being there on Thursday, if nothing goes awry.
  18. I have a few things i gotta discuss with you guys about. There are many options and NONE are perfect. I'll be more then willing to lend my help once we get that sorted. The one big decision you have to make is, how do you want to go from xbox360 mode to -> everything else mode. I don't want to get technical in a forum post, but basically something has to be done to tell the stick to be an Xbox360 stick or Everything else. There are 3 options: Imp Board: this is the thing the stick's at the HQ use. You hold down a button to go into "everything else" mode. And when not holding down that button, it is in Xbox360 mode. A simple switch: flip the switch one way, it's Xbox360. Flip it the other way and it's everything else. USB Hub: i don't know if i want to offer this option yet until i find the perfect hub to use. This is the option i chose for my own stick. It requires no user interaction and just works no matter where you plug it. Bangworthy risk reward.
  19. i will go over all the supplies i used and come up with a cost price tonight and we can talk about it! Well, Pedro, the problem is: has Cranky already ordered a chip for your to dual mod with xbox? if so he may have ordered something inefficient if he didnt know you want PS2 functionality as well. There's 1 chip to dual mod an Xbox360 with PS3, and there's a second chip to mod Xbox360 with every console you can imagine (including PS2). If he's ordered the Xbox/PS3 one already then we'll have to repay him that, cause it's useless for your mod. I'll have to talk to the both of you about the pros and cons, cause there's different ways to do this dual/triple mod with different costs and options. But im pretty sure i can take care of it for you guys if you have the patience, cause i take my time when i work to try not to make mistakes. i wouldnt mind being the blacksmith for the community
  20. I finally found a copy of Guilty gear Accent core plus for less then 50$ online. Now i just have to make sure i finish my mod for PS2 before it arrives. maybe i'll start working on it tomorrow !
  21. couldnt get it to work Pedro Followed all the instructions and was met with "this is not a win32 application" I may just have to triple mod my arcade stick sooner and get it for PS2.
  22. Thanks Brice, that statement is Bangworthy. But nothing could come of the meet if it wasnt for your dedication to open up even when life tsubamegaeshi's your ass. So thank you very much for the meet up today Brice ! And Rannmah and Pedro for getting the key !
  23. here's hoping Brice hasnt run into any snags ! i'll be there around 3pm
  24. GGs Sophisticat ! i really enjoyed our matches !! i was tempted to record one in particular myself but didn't afterall. Be my guest ! Your Hax is amazing ! I loved the part where you beat everyone in the room :3. And yes to answer your question, all them matches were on my freshly modded arcade stick ! Everything works flawlessly. And i'm slowly designing the incorporation of PS2 capability. Can't wait to show you ! Boo... I was all fired up to get there early! Shikata nai.
