  4. Akira's variation could work against overly respectful opponents who might not expect this setup. When they start catching on to this and start mashing, that's when you start using the "proper" air-tight setup.

  7. The 6B is left out in order to minimize hitstun decay and ensure that the rest of the combo works. It works if you release the D button after 6D and then tap the 41236D when inputting the fuoco.
  8. Alright so having tested this, I think that the extra 3 in 412363 was probably a typo or something. That said, 41236D23C does work as an input trick in order to get the timing of the setup down.
  9. Now that you mention it, 412363C+D might be some kind of shortcut to get fuoco and cantabile to come out at the right time. I'll test this later. If 412363CD doesn't work, maybe 41236D23C will?

  12. Regarding Bang's nails, I find that Nirvana works as a great meatshield against the nails if she happens to be in front of you. If Nirvana happens to be unavailable and Bang throws out D nails, you can either dogde them by jumping to an area where the nails won't touch you or by using Vivace to roll past the nails and Bang. The latter option should be used with caution as it will be beat by low attacks. That's how I deal with his nails and it's been working against most Netplay Bangs (lolnetplay) so far. I have no idea whether or not it's actually a legit tactic against a good Bang.

  16. I dunno which frame data you're reading out of but the charts on the wiki say that Haku's 2D (and 6D) also start from frame 1. Then again, the mook could be wrong on this one.

  21. Man, I was rooting for Kyaku so hard on that one. Twas' indeed a good match. As for matchups, I've always felt that Mu was our worst match-up (although I do agree that Tao's still an uphill battle). I find that Mu is one of those matchups where the opponent can already dictate the pace of the match right from the get-go; the only time you'll be getting in on Mu is if she screws up her zoning somewhere. Otherwise, I'd say that Carl will probably lose if the Mu player plays the match-up correctly. The fact that we lost our kara glide really doesn't help us here either. But I'm just a netplay scrub, what do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I saw your vids. Worst Carl in the world my ass.
  22. I think that some of those 5C's are supposed to be 6C's (look for the ones after the 6D's). Otherwise, good job, JG. These are much appreciated.
  23. Do you remember if Nirvana still had life after that 8D or was she at zero? In CS1+2, if she was at zero life after doing a move, the move would continue regardless of the opponent hitting/throw breaking/doing blockstrings on Carl. Maybe that trick's still in Extend?
