  1. Oh yeah. I tried to post this last night, but my internet was being a douche as per usual. Tad's status as a baller has already been cemented, but I just feel the need to say it myself. I don't want to inconvenience anyone, but the thought of the MTN crew rolling up in a minibus is pretty awesome. Fuck yeah Guilty Gear netplay, but I'm not sure how I feel about having to learn it on 360 though.
  2. I'll prob just keep maining Hakumen and sub Tao like I've been meaning to for awhile. corner to corner combos aww yeeeee.
  3. I don't even have a back story. I just kind of materialized at my first MTNBB tourney. Thank providence for Star's quirk of spouting techniques in Japanese during class.
  4. Tad's status as a baller has been cemented, but I've gotta say it too. I get that it's probably a drain and I don't want to inconvenience anyone, but the thought of the MTN crew riding up in a minibus is pretty awesome. Also, 420 pages of MTNG. kek AW DAMMIT. That would get shifted to the next page.
  5. Not sure if this has already been asked and I don't really have time to check back through the pages. What is the hop after kishuu for in combos? At first I thought it was spacing, but kishuu covers that. Is it necessary for some characters?
  6. :[ @Milln- I really want to make it but I have no idea what my situation will be like in April.
  7. Oh man. Hakumen's new combos are so fucking awesome. The execution is a lot harder, but they feel so freaking amazing. I just wish I had easier youtube access so I could learn more than just challenge mode combos. Relius doesn't feel as great as I thought he would, but I definitely have to play my new sub. I love how they put unlockables in the gallery like announcers and stuff. Does anyone know if CT's announcer is in there? I don't know them by their names.
  8. I haven't gotten it yet. Mom's paying for half and she doesn't get paid til 6pm. When I do it's gonna be on 360 since my PS3's out of commission.
  9. Psh, y'all don't stand a chance. Gonna block shit all fuggin' day and punish you for 4k with minimal meter. Yeeeaaaaaaa boiiii. Extended wolf metaphors all day. Also, I don't see why we need a new installment for a Guilty Gear revival. I plan on working on my Baiken a lot, and I see other fighters as an entertaining way to sharpen my skills for the ones I want to compete in. KoF has definitely improved my reaction time, and with those reflexes in Hakumen's hands I'm ready to take all y'all's money. Guilty Gear can only make me better. So who's gonna be online tonight? I know y'all wanna get to work relearning, but I haven't had my own copy of BB for months.
  10. @Miln Don't you remember? We're part of the Blazblue demographic. Broke ass students errwhere. I'd head up there more but I don't really have gas for that. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to make it down to Tad's eventually. On the topic of multiple games, I think I'm probably going to just focus on Guilty Gear and Blazblue like Klein and play Soul Calibur and KoF casually. The thing that confuses me about Leona being low tier is the randomness factor. I can ocv people with her repeatedly at times, then depending on the guessing game my opponent can easily turn it around. Tier seems to matter so much more in KoF than I'm used to. Maybe Blazblue spoiled me, but I definitely won't take Hakumen for granted anymore. Also @Naimat I get that Leona's low tier, but these issues pop up with a lot of other characters. That on top of hit box shenanigans make KoF an extremely frustrating game.
  11. Then I have nothing left to teach you. Your training is complete. :@
  12. >Super Smash Brothers >Combo video Choose one.
  13. That's my problem with KoF. Sitting and doing nothing with Leona will get me killed, she's got terrible defense and is meant to constantly pressure the opponent. If I were Ash or Kula or K' or something I could sit back and punish people for free. With Leona it's a constant rush-down, pressure, and guessing game. It just seems to me that for a lot of other characters everything comes easier. Say I'm rushing Andy on his wake up. I can strike arch and punish his low block, low jab and get a combo for punishing his high block, bait his wake up dp, or pursue him when he rolls away. If I guess a single thing wrong I typically get punished with a combo or throw. Say Andy decides to wake up with a dp. He gets to punish my mistake for free, but if he's wrong then he's entirely safe. The only option I have is to throw him, which he can easily tech because he knows that's the only option the opponent really has. Say Andy is across the screen and locking me down with projectiles. Roll through? That's a grab and/or combo. Jump or hop over it? That's a free instant aerial blowback that potentially puts me in the corner. The only real option I have for getting in on him is -spending meter-. Then once I get in on him it's back to the guessing game. Same thing with Terry, albeit with a less frustrating guessing game. Say I'm fighting Clark. If I hop in on him he typically has the option to either aerial throw me or instantly blowback, which seems to have priority over everything Leona does (who is typically considered the air-to-air queen, from what I've read) If he gets me in the corner, what the hell am I supposed to do? Punish him with lows? Too bad his grab - in which his arms completely miss me when I'm sweeping, btw - is invincible and punishes any attempt. Jump out? Too bad a good Clark seems to have godlike mind reading skills and knows exactly what I'm about to do, so he's ready to aerial throw me back to the ground. Roll? Too bad his throw connects even if you're behind him and /even if the roll animation is complete/. I saw some info on Clark, and apparently you're supposed to confirm that he's about to command grab by jabbing with him and then jumping or backdashing and punishing it. Too bad I tried that in the lab and I realized the only reason the person in the video could even do that was because he was using Kula and had lightning fast normals at his disposal. That's another thing. The button configuration is limited, so if I want to test something out in the lab I have to get rid of two of my buttons in order to utilize the playback feature. On top of these issues, there's just a lot of hitbox shenanigans and random grievances that don't instantly come to mind. Why the unholy fuck does K's high flame kick have priority over a -sweep-? You would think with one leg overextended in the air then you would be extremely vulnerable to lows. Too bad he's just K'. All in all, it feels like I have to play characters that are 'viable' for competitive play instead of the ones I like. This is why I like other FIGHTING GAMES and not KoF so far. Don't know why you'd make that assumption. I guess it's just my fault for falling for the hype of "tier lists are irrelevant" and "combos don't matter" when getting into KoF. Like I said, I'm not giving up yet. I'm still going to work on my match ups and practice. It's just with every improvement to my game I make, I realize that no amount of skill seems to make up for character shenanigans. I guess I'm just spoiled from playing fighters that feel a lot more balanced. As for Naimat, you're fun to fight. The spastic players are few and far between, but there's a breed of mashers out there with an uncanny intuition. As soon as I go to punish their random insanity with something they seem to lock on to me and throw out the perfect move to deal with it.
  14. I dunno. I love how the combos feel and fights with certain players are fun as hell. But then there are people who play like spastic crackheads and win because they're utterly unpredictable, plus the constant onslaught of the same few safe/easy to hit confirm characters repeatedly. I know some of it is about getting used to match ups, but when I'm losing because ground approaches result in getting locked down through projectiles/rolls and air approaches are stuffed because every character on my opponent's team has instant aerial blowbacks it gets really frustrating. I throw myself at them again and again, trying every different angle I can think of, but in the end it feels like unless I play a certain team I'm not going to be viable. I'm not giving up just yet, but it feels like every time I get better I spot more retardation.
  15. Alright. I just figured he might've said it like that because he only knew of Maxi's doing it and hadn't seen anybody else's clean hit yet. In any case, I'm thinking of just selling my KoF. I'll see at the next MtN.
  16. Chunky custom Hilde? ¿POR QUE? BTW, still wondering if anyone knows whether everyone's CE's clean hit or if it's just Maxi's.
  17. Middle Tennessee Needs Rap Battles. Let's go.
  18. Is it just Maxi or can everybody's CE clean hit?
  19. Wow. . . Dumb bitch in my house has been on the phone for like 2 hours. =/
  20. Yeah. . . I'm thinking about selling my body to get my hands on a copy of SCV.
  21. I had a few decent connections too. I've just noticed that a lot of 3 bars+ lag less, while 2 and below seem to be even worse. I also have like no lag for some matches with random massive lag spikes.
  22. Well either way, the connections are a lot better. That's all that really matters.
  23. Speaking of frames, we should get some fights in with that new KoF net code.
  24. Man, I want me some SCV now. Hilde looks boss. Does anyone have some gameplay footage with skilled fighters? I'm not really finding any decent fights on youtube, and even if I could I'm not sure I'd recognize it.
