  1. This was confirmed in Overture Materials Q&A long ago, that the in-universe reason I-No wasn't present in Overture because she was busy on "an errand" for That Man (which remains to be seen and I'm curious about...) So yup. Yamanaka just tweeted and confirmed it's PS3/PS4, so that answers that.
  2. Ahh, love the new design for Axl. I-No looks mostly the same from the tiny bit we can see...
  3. Did anyone get caps? I see a lot of people saying they saw it but no images yet...
  4. Is this Saturday or Sunday? I might be able to come
  5. Double elim sounds good. Since it's R that means it's on PS3 right?
  6. So is GG going to be +R or AC+?
  7. It's in the current game, what are you talking about?? The latest installment is R, which you download as a patch to the very same game you play AC+'s storymode in. That's a shit excuse when it's still in the current game as-played. Even if you're talking about people who only play arcades and not console, that still doesn't matter because you need console to play any part of the story anyway. So you're lazy and want to be spoonfed, yes, that's what I said. This, thank you. Arc has no obligation to do so and the whining about it is completely stupid. That's what Overture was. After that bombed so badly, I doubt they're going to try it again.
  8. Yes... and that's what I was responding to in that original comment, so... What do you do when you get into a book series in the middle of a later book? Or since you mentioned it, say you started reading Jojo's with SBR, and you want to get the references made to Parts 1-6, what do you do? You go back and read the old books, the old chapters. You don't expect to be fed the old content in the new content, do you? You keep saying you want a 'streamlined' version of the story. I told you: they just gave us one in AC+ with the extra storymodes. Do they need to retell the story over and over and over again in every single game now, aside from maybe a quick refresher of recent events? No, they don't. There's no reason that new players should expect to be given the story they missed in every new installment, instead of seeking it back out themselves in the older games, like you would any other media. Games themselves get "rebooted" all the time, sure- in that the gameplay is rebooted, because they're games. That's the main feature, the reason the story is being told interactively and not in a book, you're supposed to play it, and they need to keep that gameplay fresh. What you're saying about gameplay reboots is a totally separate issue from the story, which by its nature gets extended every game and is therefore already fresh.
  9. Ok... well, that's not what a reboot is at all, that's just a retelling. A reboot is when you start from scratch, discarding all the old story information. Not retelling them. And yeah, that's what Justice, Kliff and HOS's storymodes are and that's their purpose, to catch you up on the most important aspects of the current GG plot. AC+ even provided prologues for each characters' story at the beginning to remind you what they were doing, and where they're going. It's already being spoonfed to you. I'm sure there will be some kind of prologue about Overture's events in Xrd (it's WAY too early to jump the gun on this), maybe even quick mentions of the above, AGAIN, and then still the only things you'd be missing plotwise are supplementals that are important to the flavor of the plot, but that you really don't need to know the details of to get the story. So, you have the Crusades and GG1 retold in AC+, you have the 3 scientists' stories, the main backstory, retold in Overture. Does Xrd need to retell them a third time? I really don't think so. edit: Look, here's my problem with what you're saying. Do we expect books in a series to retell the entire story again from the last book before getting to the new content? No? ...Then why should games?
  10. 1. Here, I did the work for you: http://kitsoru.tumblr.com/post/58699292125/required-reading-for-ggs-main-plot-in-chronological You're welcome. 2. If I answered that I'd probably get infracted. 3. That just proves my point about how convoluted and messy KOF's story is in comparison so... ok?
  11. I still don't understand how people think this, at all. The series' concepts may not be simple (gee, you have to critically think, how terrible) but the plot itself is probably more concise than any other out there, in terms of being pretty clear about where the main plot has been and is headed, and individual characters' paths after each installment. Look at BB with its million time loops, or even stuff like idk, KOF- you want to talk about unclear plot arcs with barely any information given in them and tons of handwaved 'well it just happens don't ask why' stuff, there you go.
  12. Why would we? We haven't handled the game. The specific reason they don't want leaked footage is just that- so that we that haven't played can't speculate and send worries to them that aren't based on firsthand experience. If Ishiwatari is going to be coming to E3 in a year, assumedly that will be a playable demo for stateside then, but I have my doubts they'd have a loketest in the west anytime soon.
  13. Yeah, I don't mind Troy Baker considering Sol is basically undubbable without sounding really goofy. And Ky was awful. Needs to be Johnny Yong Bosch. Something like his Guy with a touch of the aristocratic flair of Lelouche.
  14. Blue Eyes White Dragon Install
  15. Grizzled old pedo Johnny for Xrd Guy has to be like 40 now right? Considering the references to his older age by other characters.
  16. Yeah, I can only imagine they're just trying (even more) to appeal to the pettanko crowd, lol edit: I mean yeah it's one thing if she just didn't grow any further, that would make sense- but she got flatter. And sportsbras don't flatten jack at that size, so unless she's binding...
  17. If May was 14-16 in GGX-XX-AC then yes she should be somewhere between 18-21 now.
  18. It seems like the swimming and possibly April part as well only happens in her stage, one of the reaction videos seemed to imply on other stages she just does the walkup and off-balance 'wooaaa~' pose part.
  19. Wow, when Sol is walking, the way you see light and shadow move on his shoulder especially you can tell it's 3D, but the entire rest of him still looks so 2D it's surreal. I'm noticing a tiny bit of slowness... on walking animations and whiffed moves like May's Ensenga, but on hit it seems to be the same speed to me? Or maybe it's changes to the characters' walking speeds that I'm seeing? Not sure but it was noticeable for me on Sol vs May, but not with Millia and Chipp which is why I'm not sure which it is.
  20. Nope, Daisuke mentions in the Overture book that
  21. Well, since it's being brought up again... My point wasn't about the mouthflaps matching up at all, obviously on that they're waiting on actual voiceover clips. I'm talking about actual face animation, as in expressions. So far, I don't feel like I've seen a whole lot of expression out of the character models and screenshots we've seen so far, at least not as demonstrated in-game, which is why I'm questioning its use for in-game story renders where they would show a range of expression as conversations take place. edit: Well not totally, I have noticed some instances of mouths grinning/scowling in different shots etc like in Sol. But I haven't seen any other facial differences as far as in things like cheeks/eyes yet, so I'm basically wondering how far the facial modeling is or is going to go- as far as cutscenes being "anime like".
  22. Second day of test is about to begin. Is anyone from dl still there?
